  1. OK. I apologise in advance for going back 2 months in time. I'm thick, but it somehow seems more relevant tonight. Why are Stockport not starting on minus 10 next season?
  2. I've got to be honest, if I was a large venture capital fund, I don't think KK is the first person I would entrust to look after my funds. That said, I would have been very excited by him being our manager, though I fully accept this is not going to happen.
  3. I think that realistically it's going to be a strong League this season and that our best chance of promotion may well have been 2010-11 with or without the 10-point penalty. I'd take the 10-point penalty, let Leeds,Charlton and Norwich get promoted, get a solid squad together to bond for a year and then really go for it in 12 months' time.
  4. If we didn't have the 10 point deduction, we'd miss out on the party we'd have from getting back into positive points. It's a once in a lifetime celebration we'd be missing out on, peeps.
  5. Saints 3 Newcastle 1 at the Dell in 1994/95 when we scored 3 in the last 5 minutes. Went up to Forest the previous Saturday and we were shocking and I couldn't bear seeing another hopeless performance. Stupid me. Have regularly been told the Dell was the noisiest it had ever been on that night. Partly down to a tannoy announcement to ask the Archers to sit down. Also Reading away last season. About the only game last season I would have wished to have been at. Sounded fantastic on the radio.
  6. What's the situation with avoiding the additional 15 point deduction? Aren't we getting pretty close to the deadline for sorting out the agreed basis on repaying the preferential creditors?
  7. Just utter tosh. You get a completely sensible reply from Scott to your trolling and you just can't help yourself. How was Lowe tantalisingly close to turning us around? Did he have a manager lined up last season who knew something about English football?
  8. Norwich's ST base was not that high in the 90's or the early part of this decade. I'd suggest that they have actively targeted their local fanbase and encouraged them to come to games, as opposed to the attitude of Lowe in his sneering comments about fans and shutting parts of the ground.
  9. Spot on.
  10. If they were each on £1K a week, we'd be sad to lose them. Hugely overpaid relative to their "talents". If Wright-Phillips didn't have a famous footballing father, it is highly doubtful he would ever have played at a level above League 2.
  11. I have no affinity for the BBC, but Solent's coverage on Saints is superb.
  12. I completely agree. I just get narked when I hear Lowe and his various apologists dishing out all the blame for our current state on the people who were in charge for the two seasons after his departure, when the reality is that:- a) his negligent choice of managers led to both of our relegations b) the Rasiak deal was a big part of the reason for the overspending on fees and wages over those two seasons after he departed.
  13. I've picked you up on this point before, and I don't remember you replying last time. Lowe agreed the deal to sign Rasiak on a wage which was the catalyst for the wage structure at the club being significantly raised, with the subsequent signings of Davis, Skacel, Viafara, Wright-Phillips etc. It is completely absurd to exempt Lowe from blame for the financial mess we are in.
  14. Chris Marsden? Hadn't thought of him. Sounds a plan.
  15. Barry Ferguson.
  16. You could find there may be a fun away day in Round 1 or Round 2 of the FA Cup next season.
  17. Isn't he some sort of lowlife football agent now? The turd must be loaded.
  18. To be fair, in having to work for Mandaric, Pearson is having to deal with just as demented and interfering a chairman as Lowe. Pearson's a very good manager, simple as that. Lowe's childish dismissal of him is indisputably the main reason why we are where we are now.
  19. Paul Tisdale seems a good guy, but I'm not sure about having a manager who's quite well-spoken and wears cravates. Doesn't seem right somehow.
  20. Best shout of all. "And you, you ****, I'll ****ing have you, I'll take you all on, you ****s......."
  21. Had a season ticket for 15 years until Lowe returned last summer. I've seen a lot of utter sh1te in that time. Not that I feel I need to justify myself.
  22. There's something about Boothroyd I can't quite put my finger on, but I suspect he is a little unhinged.
  23. Rattlehead's a genuine fan. He's travelled the length of the country supporting Saints, but he was sensible enough to do it in a period when most of the players gave a **** about playing for Saints and you could identify with them. Like me, he sees little point in spending a small fortune watching a poorly managed spineless shower of sh1te.
  24. If memory serves, Merrington was only allowed to sign Venison during the season. I like him, he comes across as a bit of a doddery Grandad at times on Solent (I could never forget his hopeless attempts to pronounce Kosowski's name), but he knows his stuff. He has said many a time this season we wasted money on a reserve keeper when we could have gone in for Sam Vokes.
