Forgetting the legalities for a moment, does anyone really believe that Saints gained any advantage over other teams in the league last season because of our financial situation ? Having loaned out Rasiak, John, Skacel, Dyer and Saga because they were too expensive, means we surely weakened our position ! The minus 10 points for administration is a 'catch all' rule but is hardly fair and equitable in many individual cases, is it ???

Given that today has been an important day in the turbulent life of SFC you really would have thought that the OS would have shed some light on developments at some time during the day ( Mark Fry has reported on there before BTW) ! As the (supposedly) official instrument for communication to the fans I would have expected something but what did we get - zilch ! When Tony Lynham posted on here it kind of summed up the importance of the 2 sites and this one seems to be the clear winner !

If the club decide that he is worth keeping then perhaps they should attempt to renegotiate his contract with sweeteners ie : a) reduce wages now and we'll spread the rest over a longer contract. b) reduce wages now and link the extra payments to goals scored. c) reduce wages now but receive a big bonus if promoted. I'm sure that some creative contract bargaining could be arranged, particularly as he does not seem to be in great demand from elsewhere at the moment !

Presuming the reports about him already having met with MLT and TL are correct then the odds are that he is probably staying ! Personally I will back any decision that the new owners make on the basis that our unconditional support can only be good for the club !

I have lived and worked in a number of European countries and beg to differ totally !! For example, Belgian law is about the slowest you could ever imagine, the French are intentionally obstructive, the Germans are pedantic in the extreme and the Eastern bloc is still corrupt ! I won't even mention the Swiss if bureaucracy frustrates you ! I don't know where you live but if the legal system is smoother than UK then you are very, very lucky !!

Personally I don't give a monkeys who is on the new board as long as : a) The club is financially stable ! b) They appoint the right manager ! c) They concentrate only on the football and not peripheral businesses ! d) They adopt a low profile (good start as we don't even know who Mr Big is yet)! It can't be that hard to achieve these fairly straightforward objectives, can it ??

Same with me, he comes across as polite, sensible and unprovocative ! Some of the vitriol (ie. Alpine who says he DESPISES him) is nothing short of scandalous ! I guess that many on here have never met the man but seem to resent the fact that he is asked questions by the media about the club which he avidly supports! Having produced fanzines, websites etc.. he gets off his arse and tries his best to further the interests of SFC so why he is castigated is beyond me ! The only conclusion that I can draw is that ENVY is the reason, sad I know, but why else?
