Rupert Lowe did Good Things while he was at the club - discuss
dubai_phil replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
Well spotted. There is a sticky. It is about the nature of the forum & the Mods, and how the forum had declined and members had gone away to get on with real lives. Many argued that it was impossible to have sensible debates these days as threads become hijacked or people's opinions are attacked with abuse. This showed that the forum HAS actually changed, take THE single most divisive subject for us fans, one that we all hold the actual core same opnion on, but be "marginally controversial" with the angle and see whether we could actually have a sensible discussion. It has been interesting - sure some of the responses show people up for what they are, BUT there are some good points that have been made - without abuse. Lowe stayed too long, his basic concept of a PLC is now shown to be flawed, his personality and leadership style was not conducive to long term success. But, history also shows that he did leave a legacy, obviously SMS & The Academy being the key. Relevance? We had many arguments and opinions over the close season regarding NC and many comparisons to "Evil Dictators" and posters again taking the "aggressive negative" stance. (Which have of course quietened down now we have an Antonio clone on loan, and Adkins has won some games in a bit of style).. Nobody is perfect, but some decisions made are good ones, it shows much of the instant knee jerk reactions can be wide of the mark. (Or in plain English, I was having an aggressive dig and the people who fecked with the forum over the summer) -

Ok, so one night will be "A massive American Act" One night will be a "Massive Current/fairly Recent Act" And one night will be "Massive Legendary Act" Then watch Seetickets.com for bands on tour or regrouping next year. simples Prince is obviously a good logical shout as he is obviously on the road as he's down here in November And the best will be the Sunday night on The Other stage which you didn't go to (again) as you wanted to see a Legend And as usual you will trek all the way to the Park for the "Surprise Guests" to find - you went to the wrong band and you had never heard of who was on but while you listened to Englebert Humperdinck for a Laugh you missed GreenDay Rolling Stones it is then, Linkin Park may be in down the order somewhere.... OK time for a sweepstake thread -
I'm confused. What's the deal with this thread?

Liverpool (possibly) could face 9 point deduction?

And in related news... Record profits for Man Ure but they make a massive loss. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/08102010/58/premier-league-united-loss-despite-record-profit.html Somewhere within Football there is some idiot who failed to type up a rule saying that to own a football club you must have your own money or you must NOT put the debt onto the club Hicks & Gillett stand to lose at least 60mil with this deal hahahahahaha And there by the grace of God (ML) we could have gone again Hope in many ways they do get Admin as it will make others stop and think -
You forget one major point. He's talking to football fans.... While us lot on here may be literate(ish) he does have to cater for the entire fanbase, which will of course include many of those that posters often moan about - the Neanderthal "Yoof" (or for that matter the "as criticised in another thread" - the not very bright footballers we employ) As for the "Positive Attitude" No brainer for someone who has studied as much as he has. Standard amateur psychology or NLP techniques. Brits are Whingeing Poms, so someone with a permanent positive attitude is really freaky and while often annoying can infect and induce change in any organisation

Nah, they'll be fine up at The Park out of everyone's way -
Hmmm We need a striker as cover on loan.... So, who do Stoke have (left that isn't at Skates) that we could borrow in return for "the favour"
-
Obviously not that short on options in midfield.

The man himself, on the pitch at SMS -
Perhaps because the full story hasn't unwound yet? After all who reads a Storrie without an ending?

Video Killed The Radio Star I was stitched up by mates who thought they'd make me look stupid on my Birthday in front of 200+ people making me sing that right after the Lead Singer from a globally famous Heavy Metal Band had sung one of his own numbers (they were in town for a gig) I decided (drunkenly) to do it in a silly voice and astonishingly it rocked. I now get asked to do it every fecking time I go back ( and yes I won the competition that night - 90 quid of free booze - yeah I really needed it that evening) Most notably as told many times to anyone who listens - I beat Budgie (our ex-keeper not a feathered one) with it on one trip. He did The Hippy Hippy Shake...

Don't worry, according to the great plan, next year he will be talking about how critical revenue diversification is for a club aspiring to the CL, and how he is proud to be opening the Monkey Chicken Petting Zoo, Tiger Woods rehabilitation home for wayward forwards, Saints On Air Radio Station. Or how he believes it is important that the new kit (By Gucci) brings a critical importance to Sports Science by ensuring that the team focus on looking good when they walk on the pitch.

Nooooooooooooooooooo Who's gonna be the Tea Boy now? -
Lol at the thread. Like Arsene Wenger never waffles on and on about much the same every week, didn't see le incident, was on the other side of the pitch, I felt the referee was less than perfect, I think the Stoke players were a leetle physical. I'm sure he just has his secretary cut and paste from the previous encounter the previous season most the time. Which is why I never listen to any interviews except post match. What are they ACTUALLY going to say about an upcoming match? Oh yes Tranmere, easy game should walk them, I'll play 4-3-2-1 with Lambert pushed onto their CB's and keep our two men wide and of course we will play it wide through defence from the back. How else can you politely say "Oh yes xyz, easy game should walk them" making it sound as if "it will be a tough test" when you have to do it around 45 times a year
-
I've been really busy all day It was hot and sunny out there today And why must I wait 30 seconds on a test the speed page
-
Is it too late to join in all the fun?

I lol'd.... Wonder if this time next year this list will have added some new names.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/8048077/Liverpool-takeover-Tom-Hicks-and-George-Gillett-cant-rival-these-disastrous-owners.html I must admit I did look to see if any of the 3 Amigos made it, but I am sure time will add at least Sultan Bin Trump onto this and his predecessor who's name escapes me, but wasn't he something to do with Laundrettes or was it a Car Wash company?
-
Perhaps it is time to change the subjects
-
Jeez Eric, just because she's a blonde and possibly breathing.... And of course it looks built up compared to Burj EoA Looking forward to a non crashing TSW for Saturday, don't expect NA to try and change the line up or shape too much even if Barney "injured" Saturday saw Lambo playing a bit deeper than Barney so would expect Lambo pushed onto the CB's with Chaplow or Guly "in the advanced hole" Too early in his regime to try and teach L1 level players more than one shape/style/formation for 90 mins
-
FFS you decide to do this on one of the few days of the week when I actually have a shed load of meetings to attend. Booo Baj Out

OK first of all was the photo in the Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/golf/article-1317267/RYDER-CUP-2010-The-moment-Tiger-Woodss-challenge-Celtic-Manor-halted--photographer.html Obviously the whole Ball in the face thing makes it possibly the greatest sporting picture of all time. Then look again at the Cigar Smoking, Turban Wearing Groucho Marx alongside Tiger and suddenly http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/golf/rydercup/8045461/Tiger-Woods-Ryder-Cup-cigar-guy-becomes-web-hit.html has become this http://www.tauntr.com/content/series-cigar-guy-photoshops Perhaps we should do some photshopping of our own with pics of Saints fans in famous sporting or historical moments

Oi! I never said that. I said it would run and run and run and run and run..... (phew, nearly missed another chance to say - Told you So!)
