A load of back tracking BS, its laughable. So people were just warning the uneducated and the power of the forum warriors change the course of history, hilarious. You are the new Dalek with your Hoodlesque '1 Sep judgement day' on continual loop. -
Ireland is in Europe.

Leon Best, I remember all the chatter was about Best who was scoring for fun at youth level. Him and Walcott through together and Walcott stole the show.

What to the board need to do to gain back the trust of the fans?
Fan The Flames replied to maysie's topic in The Saints
For some of us its not a question of blind faith. For me its a realisation of how lucky we are, compare us to a lot of clubs our size and we are top of the pile. We are in the prem with a good team, good manager, good ground, good infrastructure, money in the bank if we need it, a supportive owner. But all you get is bleating from the masses because someone else won't bank roll their dream. All we hear is spend more money so I can stand tall in the pub with all my southern Man U and Liverpool friends. You lot are even moaning about loanees not being as good as bought players and beseeching the board do something so I can give you my trust. -
So he was short and one of the youngest in his school year, no wonder he was such a ****.

The truth is somewhere in between, the South Hampshire met area is an amalgamation of two cores, Southampton and Portsmouth. Whilst it includes areas in the sphere of influence of the core a lot of the areas are not within Southamptons sphere, like Bognor. But you can't discount the areas around the border of Southampton, like your West Ends, Tottons, Eastleighs. -

So you want two points per game a whopping 35% increase on last years results. Back to the OP, I would do what every good parents does and leave the whinging kids to cry themselves out. -
What did we really have. CL football was never really on the horizon it was just a mirage, a nice dream. The opportunity we had was to fight it out for 6th, 7th and 8th at a great cost to the club. A decision has been made to recalibrate our approach to one which is less risky, we may have thrown the anchor out when we could have just taken our foot of the pedal. But we had to change for the good of the long term. We are lucky we could be Forest, Ipswich, Wednesday, Derby, Wolves, Blackburn.

Nah it's been watered down in line with the clubs reduction in ambition.

Celtic vs Legia Warsaw Build Up Thread
Fan The Flames replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Does Celtic winning have any bearing on us signing Forster; I would like to cheer them on but if it affects us then I'm all 'come on Legia'. -
Rickie Lambert - Dream to Nightmare?
Fan The Flames replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
Lambert has stepped up to every challenge and succeeded and I suspect we will see him reeling away after scoring at Anfield (not on the first game of the season though). -
The only question I want answered is by how much are Frenchmen less intelligent that Englishmen.

This is the first year of the salary cap regime so it is harsh to expect there to be no problems. Why is this not happening t other clubs, well maybe our wages are higher compared to our income, maybe we are interpreting the rules differently, maybe ewe are acting correctly and will benefit from it. What is clear is we can not offer our players the same wages as the big boys, but is also true is that we can't even attempt to now because of the salary cap.
-
So in a thread that only mentions the ITV story about the sale of the academy and where there is not one mention of whether there is a problem at the club. You pick people up for rubbishing the story with the hackneyed line of 'if its negative it must be rubbish'. So on here we can only critically discuss positive news, is that right. So a story that is put out by one outlet alone and is a **** article can't be called a **** article. Even an article you haven't seen. There is no theme occurring there is a lot of acceptance of the negative summaries of our club at the moment. Also it appears that you have come up with the negative/rubbish correlation all by yourself when Turkish and Delldays have been pointing it out for years.

I think that quote from MS was acceptable, it wasn't the old line 'I want to play CL football, hopefully it is with Southampton'. It demonstrated a desire to keep dealings behind closed doors which is the right way to act. So when asked by the press it was the acceptable answer. Footballers know when they sign a new contract it's as much about the club retaining value in the asset, with the understanding that when the time is right for the player to move they will talk about it sensibly. We didnt mind Walcott and Shaw signing new deals whilst they knew they wanted to go, because it maximised their worth. We have got to accept that there is no loyalty in football either way and just get on with it. Fans cast aside player at the drop of a hat, clubs sell players they no longer want and players want to go when they want. If it happens before a contract is up the injured party gets compensation.

That loss was all Lambert's fault dontchaknow

There are a list of teams of similar stature or bigger than us that are in a worse position; Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds, Forest, Ipswich, Leicester (only just got back up), Derby, Coventry, Birmingham, Blackburn, Middlesborough, Sheffield United. We are very lucky.

What's you plan, we are all listening.

All because she doesn't splash the cash to your liking. Do you slag girls off that turn down your advances.

Saints open development centre in north Devon
Fan The Flames replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
i think you proved my point. I can think of Paul Wotton, Mickey Evans and Nicky Marker; good players but not a great return from a large part of England.
