  1. Hell no. I wouldn't have Shelvey as a ball boy, let alone a player. The fact he's been in an England squad is an absolute joke.
  2. £10m + Shelvey on loan? Tempting...
  3. Best reader of the game we have in defence. Don't think he's a great full back but he did well today. One thing I don't like about him is he has a tendency to stick a boot out at anything that goes near him which tends to result in balls ricocheting off others around him. I'd say he is probably our best centre back.
  4. He sure is. Coaches my nephew in the under 14s.
  5. It's almost to the point where I'd be willing to get relegated ourselves if it guaranteed QPR finished bottom, just so I could see the excuses Redknapp comes out with in the aftermath.
  6. Noticed we appear to be top of the fair play league. Anyone know if there is any chance of England getting a spot in the Europa League next year through Fair Play? Pretty sure it's happened once or twice before...
  7. As far as I know you are in the Navy. Portsmouth is a naval port so it is quite likely that a large proportion of the people you know are Portsmouth "sympathizers" who adopt the 'Scummer' nickname in referring to Southampton. I have lived and worked in London for over 10 years alongside football nuts and a large amount of my family and friends are avid Newcastle fans. Not once do they refer to Southampton as Scummers.
  8. We aren't known as Scummers by most football fans. Do people forget that up until about 10 years ago, we called Pompey fans Scummers as much as they called us it? I even saw on Facebook a few days ago one of my best mates referring to the totally fictional dockers strike to justify why we are called the "Scum Army". I still cringe at the thought of our fans latching on to a fictional story to justify a derogatory nickname we used to call Pompey fans until recent memory but for some reason seem so keen to adopt.
  9. Never knew Billy Mitchell was a Saints fan.
  10. I' a big fan but have to agree, the miss today was woeful. I can only put it down to him thinking he was offside.
  11. Famous 3 kings will be showing it. Next door to west kensington station.
  12. I can confirm that is his hand writing. The man is pure class. Will miss him very much.
  13. By that logic can we all assume Pocchetino will be given his marching orders unless he returns markedly better results in the next 16 games?
  14. Only just? I think he's been excellent for the past couple of months.
  15. Indeed you did. Pleasure to meet you! Cant belive I also met Ben The Legend. Honoured!
  16. Ticket now sold! Sorry Saint_DB.
  17. In famous 3 kings now for a pre match drink. We have a spare ticket if anyone wants it? Face value its £45, happy to sell for £30. Cheers.
  18. I think he was being ironic in light of recent comments about our support from friends of certain other posters on here. The lads were in fine voice today though. Great effort.
  19. Not convinced he dived to be honest. Think the weight of his upper body as he shifted forced him over. Great performance by him today though. Ran his socks off.
  20. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  21. I reckon 12th in the Prem.
  22. Why? I think people forget how good he was. He was excellent. Great passer, good experience, model professional, good engine and his performances around 2002 and 2003 were brilliant.
  23. A bit rich coming from a mackem. They are famous for when being asked where they are from by people on holiday, telling them 'Newcastle'. As for their ground, not bad apart from the pink seats. From my geordie brother in law... (in the tune of the whole world in your hands) They've got 27,000 empty seats 27,000 empty seats, 27,000 empty seats, Sunderlands a massive club. They've got £5 for adults and the kids go free, £5 for adults and the kids go free £5 for adults and the kids go free Sunderlands a massive club They've got Steve Cram, celebrity fan Steve Cram, celebrity fan Steve Cram, celebrity fan Sunderland's a massive club.
  24. The archetypal away performance. Got their noses in front and then defended as if their lives depended on it. Can't fault the effort, Sunderland stopped us from passing the ball around and gave us no time on the ball. Roll on the next game.
  25. Great save at the far post from Holt's header. Bad mistake but he's young and will get over it. Much rather keep going with him over KD and fatty Boruc.
