Surprises me how clueless some people are. There aren't many better 3rd choice centre backs in the Prem yet people still think we should sell him.

I don't recall months of articles and interviews with Southampton old boys commenting on how Jay Rodriguez would be perfect for us in a blatent attempt to unsettle him and then drive his price down as he pushes for the move himself. We submitted a bid to Burnley which they felt was acceptable, agreed personal terms and then signed him. Liverpool are not conducting themselves in the same fashion.

I've interpreted the statement to say that unless we receive a ridiculous offer for one of our players, we will hold fire on making any decisions until we have a new manager in place. That's totally fair enough I'd say. If someone did offer £40m for Lallana or £30m+ for Shaw, I'd dare say RK and KL would drive them there for the medical themselves, again, fair enough in my opinion if someone is prepared to pay well above true market value. Until they do that though, they've said no-one will go.

Do you not agree though that constant references to our history come across as a little disingenious given our relative lack of it though? About the only think that is annoying me about RK. By all means acknowledge our past but don't make out we are Liverpool.

Surprised Alan Dzagoev of Russia hasn't been snapped up by one of Europe's big boys yet. Looked a class act at the Euros a couple of years ago.

Decent player but some might say he's been over promoted by those close to him. I'd say my nephew but don't want to give his name out!

Didn't exactly do Liverpool any harm when the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid were sniffing about for Suarez last summer did it? Adam's got 4 years remaining on his contract at Southampton. He will have to accept it if Liverpool don't want to pay over the odds.

£25m is realistic if we wanted to sell him. Taking in to account the fact he is our most important player, the fact he's in the PFA player of the year, he is English, the new TV money, the remaining 4 years on his contract and the fact that the club (I hope) don't want to sell him, tell them its £40m or nothing. If they want him it should be on our terms, not theirs.

Pretty sure I read that Laudrup was quite unprofessional with his preparation of players. Also had form for touting himself about for bigger jobs. Not sure how that would go down here. Uwe Rosler would be my pick realistically. De Boer would be amazing but I can't see him viewing Southampton as a step up from Ajax unless we were offering a sizeable transfer fund.

As I said, I hope I'm wrong but it isn't uncommon for players leaving to be substituted on their final appearance so they can clap all four corners of the ground and the crowd can give an ovation to them individually, which they can't do on a lap of honour.

Great season. Must say subbing Lallana and Shaw feels like an opportunity for both to say goodbye. Hope I'm wrong but if so, hope we wait until after the World Cup to sell them and we replace them adequately.

Actually thought despite the result we played well today. Villa played as if they were happy with the 0-0 and sometimes when that is the case, that is all you get. We broke them down plenty of times and created lots of chances, we just didn't convert any. Roll on next week I say...

Got back earlier this afternoon. Wow - what a city. Did most of the things that were mentioned so thanks to all for the advice. To anyone who hasn't been - go. It knocks spots of most other European city "weekend-break" destinations.
