  1. Apologies if posted before but didn't realise Wolves had been linked earlier this year: https://www.molineux.news/opinion/wolves-interest-in-game-changer-target-could-hand-vitor-pereira-his-own-raul-jimenez-heres-why/
  2. I dunno, Valencia was a nightmare for BBD and that was before he signed for us. I just think his confidence is so low that it's going to be very hard for him to come back and certainly not here where he'll have too much competition to even get in the squad. I actually feel sorry for him. There's a clip from the Norwich game where he tries something and it doesn't come off and the look on his face and his body language is pure dejection. Lad desperately needs a fresh start and hopefully he gets it.
  3. Martin playing him in a deeper midfield role when Downes got injured didn't help. It's just not his game. Kind of feel he became a lightning rod for dissatisfaction with the style of play than anything specific to Smallbone.
  4. Isn't Bree in the last year of his contract? Would have thought the club would try and get some money now if they can.
  5. Lot of work still to be done on that deal - we've done the initial weighing up but we've still got to prepare a bid, make initial enquiries, consider our options, walk away, come back, make second bid and that's without all the work on the player side of things. Don't forget the player will need to do the same too. Modern transfers eh?
  6. They won't be laughing when they find out we've swapped him for BBD.
  7. Probably been posted before but here's a largely stats based summary on Guilavogui:https://www.attackingfootball.com/meet-the-winger-will-still-didnt-want-at-rc-lens-but-is-now-trying-to-sign-for-southampton/ Sounds like a hard working winger who doesn't attempt too many dribbles or crosses. Awesome.
  8. Palace fan at work, " I wouldn't say he did f all, but I am amazed we've rejected that. Probably want about £12m, hope you offer that as we need him off the books."
  9. I compared the two a while ago and used the season we were promoted for Edozie and last season for Rak-Sakyi. They were about the same age and probably a bit more comparable being in the same division. There wasn't much in it but Edozie came out slightly better (in terms of goals and assists).
  10. Sugawara must be off fairly soon. Strange with Armstrong though. I guess he had chances against Wrexham but even so, still seems a strange pick.
  11. Statistically he's worse than Edozie. He was dropped by Sheff Utd for the run in last season and didn't exactly set the world alight before that. Palace are desperate to shift him out and I think we'd be mugs to accommodate them.
  12. Ipswich look quite strong up front with Philogene, Clarke, Szmodics and Hirst but think we have the edge in midfield with Charles, Downes and Fernandes able to drop back if needed. 0-0 draw.
  13. They play Sochi tomorrow but yeah, would imagine he’d want some kind of goodbye if he’s leaving
  14. Spertsyan can (and has) played on the left so that’s an option if he signs. Not sure it’s his best position though. Agree with you on Manneh. We’ve been linked with better. The Brighton lad, Sima, Boving and Vicente all looked decent.
  15. Think Choudhury played RB in the final but that kind of proves the point - they preferred a midfielder out of position to Gilchrist.
  16. Have to say I thought the same about Gilchrist. He's a converted CB and looks it. No doubt would probably be a better defensive option than someone like Sugawara but there wasn't much that I could see that would suggest anything particularly dynamic about him. Seemed to start OKish at Sheff Utd and then got injured but never managed to get back into the team. Suggests that Sheff Utd didn't think that much of him either. If anything I'd say he was more suited to a right sided CB position than a RB or wingback (and we've got enough options for that position if we wanted to play that way).
  17. Yeah, striker was linked to us and a few other champ clubs this summer.
  18. Damion has addressed certain concerns and proclaimed he has trust in both of his feet, which is normally a positive when talking about not just footballers but people in general.
  19. You mean Lennon Miller of Udinese?
  20. For once it does seem like Leicester will be in the same situation of losing players as most relegated clubs. Sounds like there's interest in El Khannouss, Fatawu and Winks, and obviously just lost their keeper too. Think I read somewhere that El Khannouss has a 30M release clause if a prem club comes in for him but it expires soon, so if anyone is going to get him, it'll probably be in the next couple of days.
  21. I'm probably biased but Lambert was far far better than Moore - goal record alone tells you that. I guess they're both physical to an extent but Lambert was a much more skilful player. I don't dislike Moore and he's a right nuisance which we've needed but not a patch on SRL.
  22. Yeah, I meant if Fernandes plays in the role Fraser had at the start against Wrexham. I guess technically not midfield but he'll drop back at times and imagine we'll probably be a bit more conservative away anyway.
  23. Good time to play Ipswich and Brum showed how to play them - high energy and in their faces. If Charles, Downes and Fernandes all start then we should be able to win the midfield but whoever plays right back or right wing back will need to be all over Clarke - he's very good given time and space but nowhere near as effective without it. I'd be concerned if Sugawara is supposed to be picking him up. Reckon both managers would take a draw and think that's probably how it'll pan out.
  24. Kevin Toms has updated the original and still the best version of football manager. It's out tomorrow and knocks Football Manager 2026 into ignominy and obscurity. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3707550/Kevin_Toms_Football_Star_Manager/
