  1. Championship was not fun when we were relegated. It only became fun after promotion.
  2. Pellegrino will not be sacked before the end of the season. [He should be, but our useless management team (Read and Krueger) don't have the balls to do what is needed]
  3. The signs were clearly there at the end of last season with Puel. Club had chance to do something about it but cocked up by employing someone even worse and not making some required signings.
  4. Yoshida playing for Japan (x2) ?
  5. So do you think 3 assists is great then? It was designed to show how poor we are this season at assists. I said also that Cedric is not involved in free kicks and corners, whereas Bertie is. Bertie's 3 league assists, include one corner (v Leicester) and 2 crosses in the Everton 4-1 win. So he has made assists from open play in one game this season (and excellent plays they were). The point is criticising anyone based on assists is just daft, assists are one of the most stupid metrics used these days. You can't assist if no-one scores. In the same Everton game Cedric made a great cross that Austin contrived to hit against the upright. It was as good a ball as either of Bertie's but you don't get an assist for hitting the post.
  6. The old "no assists" stat. Trouble with assists is that they require someone else to have scored a goal. Our strikers don't score, therefore there are very few assists. Most of our assists come from set pieces in which Cedric is not a factor. 16 assists in the PL for the whole squad this season to date (Tadic, bertrand and Redmond 3 each). Assists are a very poor measure of a player's quality and effectiveness.
  7. Who knows. Meant to say Mile 3 by the way.
  8. Roads closed in town centre until 1430, but DW Stadium is at Mile and roads closed until 1100.
  9. Not sure you can say the u23s have been on great form. OK, won last 2, but 2 out of 4 before that this year., clearly improving from a very low base. The u18s have been good and thats been for quite a while now (since Danny Butterfield came in).
  10. Good to know their front end configuration was broken. WTF, do people really write such absolute ******** (and mean it)? Clearly the person writing the mail hasn't got a Scrooby.

  12. Forster was dropped because he was absolute ****. It took longer to do than it should because no one was confident that McCarthy was any better. But eventually he was given the chance and he grabbed it with both hands and has shown that he is a more than capable keeper. Can't see any way Forster could get back in, injury permitting.
  13. Not forgetting Accrington Stanley
  14. Be better if it was Yoshida instead of Hoedt
  15. (1) Falling out with Koeman when he decided to go against the Reed manifesto way of playing. (2) Appointing Puel (3) Sacking Puel to appoint Pellegrino (4) Persisting with poor quality coaches at the top end of the Academy (Hunter) (5) Appointing a hockey coach as Chief Exec (6) Selling club to a chancer
  16. Forget the caption competition, by the look of those scarves we may be back to the red with white pinstripes next season as per Cortese.
  17. I fnd it odd how people seem to have jumped on the bandwagon of slagging off the PFA. OK, Taylor's salary is ridiculous, but in the end he is paid by an organisation that is funded primarily by professional footballers. Annual membership fees for most pro players (i.e. those in L1 and below) are £150 per year, so the funding must be made up considerably by PL and to a lesser degree Championship players. Clearly as a result of what members pay they are able to fund huge salaries not just for Taylor but all of the other executives (not forgetting that all of them are former pro footballers). It is understandable that the union executive gets paid somewhere in the same region as an average PL player (obscene levels, but thats how it is with the Sky money). Research shows that 45 top union leaders earned in excess of £100000 last year, most far more, and these are mostly for unions where the average salary of the members is much much lower than a PL footballer. If the membership of the union are comfortable with Taylor being paid what he is then that's fine by me, if they aren't comfortable with it then they do not need to join (there is no closed shop). Ironic to me that "rent a gob" Simon Jordan is the one slagging Taylor off. I don't see any real evidence that this organisation is bleeding the industry, that would be the players, agents, managers and PL executives. In fact you could argue that it is a way of putting money back into the game from the real fat cats). Its not like the BBC or the NHS where the body is publicly funded.
  18. A more realistic comparison would be with the season after we were last relegated from the PL. The season you used was boosted by the feel good factor of Promotion, JPT and generally winning lots of games. I would suggest average attendance would be more likely to be 23k. Hopefully it would be more than the 17k of the season we dropped down to L1.
  19. Now we know where all of our good players have been hiding. Maybe they have found a proper manager as well: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-43010399
  20. Sky commentator today said out for another 4 weeks
  21. Can only assume you are mixing him up with Hoedt.
  22. Hoedt again, he really is the liability in our defence, really would be happier with Yoshida. Awful defending.
  23. Its the league cup competition for Premier League 2 sides (u23s). We won it 3 years ago (when it was u21), didn't Sam Gallagher score a screamer in the final at St Mary's?. Nowadays it is played in a group competition format, 8 groups of 4 teams, top 2 from each group qualify for the knockout stages (same format as CL and EL). Even after last night we are still top of Group B (Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City, Southampton, Watford) though only 2 points cover the 4 teams with 2 left to play.
  24. He is the epitome of inconsistency, especially this season. His goals have dried up and he is being completely overshadowed by Mo Salah. He is still world class amd I would have him back in a flash, but to consider him as "not inconsistent" is laughable.
  25. What I don't understand is that the lady complainant only boycotts Liverpool games (she is a season ticket holder). The c word isn't exclusively used at Liverpool games is it? I recall hearing it at most games, is she actually offended by insults against Lallana and Lovren (if its the 3rd season running) rather than the c word itself? Its a very odd thing to do, to boycott a game against a particular team in case the c word is used, because as she has boycotted it for 3 years how does she actually know that the c word is used anyway? I get the sense this is really a bit of a put-up job. I don't condone use of the c word by the way, but neither would I be offended by anyone using it, its just a word/sound, used by the grammatically challenged.
