  1. What happened to the mouse?
  2. The U18s really have become very disappointing, though as you say quite a few have been playing with the U21s. The Club really need to be looking at whether we have the best coaches possible, the evidence suggests we don't. Minor point but Isgrove is not an U21.
  3. Called that right then. Perhaps an apology from the arsehole on here might be forthcoming, won't hold my breath though. Big miss, but I have faith that Clasie can do the job, though we may see a lack of pace to some extent without Davo.
  4. No-one ever said it did. Why do I need to wind my neck in for making an observation based on evidence? Why do you think he is missing? Any sensible suggestions, probably a bit hard for you.
  5. Bull****. If Gaston is in the videos it merely indicates he probably would be available for the squad, doesn't mean he'll be in the matchday squad, and certainly not that he will play.
  6. Speculation based on available evidence. May be ********, just offered up as an observation. Perhaps he was doing an interview at the time. Ronald did hint at a few minor issues, though he only specifically mentioned Pelle's knee. Would have thought if Davis isn't available then play Clasie in his place with Wanyama and either Romeu or JWP.
  7. Looks like Steve Davis may be missing tomorrow. Noticeably absent from the training videos (Shane Long interview) and pictures that I have seen. Couple of people on here will be pleased.
  8. Blackstock played 9 PL matches for us, your criteria in the original post was 8 as a breakthrough. So he should count. Kenwyne was 19 when he joined us, was considered as youth development at the time when Rupert brought him in. Just because he turned out to be a **** doesn't preclude him. Gallagher has made 20 PL appearances so under your criteria he should count Agree about Crainie and Mills, Crainie is an object lesson of how to blow the talent of someone who was regularly England U21 Captain. Thanks partly to Arry.
  9. This is true, we should all have a great deal of sympathy with Gaston and the trauma he must have suffered living in Hull. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even Gaston's mate Alpine. Hull City of Culture 2017. [OK, confess I have never been to Kingston upon Hull, went very near it once when we crossed the Humber Bridge]
  10. ...until yesterday.
  11. Seems plausible, the standard of journalism in that article is risible.
  12. Bit different for a keeper though. He is only 18, no keeper breaks through at 18. Butland is considered young for a keeper but he is nearly 23.
  13. He left Hull on 13 May due to his hamstring injury which occurred a couple of weeks before. So that was 8.5 months in total at Hull. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Gaston-Ramirez-leave-Hull-City-hamstring-injury/story-26488052-detail/story.html
  14. Could be more evidence of what some people can see that our much acclaimed Academy is going backwards (or at least not progressing) with poor quality coaches and the Club resting on its laurels beieving their own hype that we have the best Academy.
  15. Not so much under-rated as misunderstood by some "supporters" who couldn't or wouldn't understand his role in the team and thought he was crap because he didn't score loads of goals. People without the insight to see how important he was to the team and how he did it without being spectacular. One of our best ever midfielders, very badly treated by George ****ing Burley, one of our worst ever managers.
  16. Harry Isted has left by mutual consent.
  17. He was at Hull a bit less than 12 months if we are being pedantic. September to June would probably count as 10, seem to recall he was actually back with us before the end of last season.
  18. Really was a complete knob. That said Ronald does not hide his contempt for these knobs very well. He is a bit *****ly at times.
  19. Of course it doesn't, income wouldn't affect budgets at all, how silly.
  20. Unfortunately that is exactly what will happen if our academy players do not make it through to the PL, and it is clearly already happening. Thankfully the Club seem to have cottoned on to the idea that they do after all have to go further afield to pick up the youngsters to do what they (the Club) believed would happen anyway a couple of years back and that our Academy has actually not been very good relative speaking in the last 2 years or so. Sadly we no longer have a man in charge with the vision of Georges Prost and our coaches (at u18/u21) seem to be at best very average. You seem to have the view that we carry on doing what we did before and all will be well, but its not like that, the Academy has to progress and change hugely just to maintain the reputation and to keep the top talent joining us rather than our competitors (and here I mean Clubs like Boro, rather than Chelsea or Man City).
  21. A habit they broke in their last game. Now have a new coach. But tend to agree it will be Villa and Sunderland and either Swansea or Norwich.
  22. Exactly, and the next 7 places are also held by PL Clubs. Therefore this does not really gain us anything in terms of PL status. It is only meaningful if you look at it in a European perspective, where only the top 8 or 9 European Clubs (Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG, Dortmund, Roma, Juve & Inter) are above us. We should be a force in Europe, but that won't happen unless we qualify regularly - which means being top 6 or 7.
  23. Think there is a point being missed here. Comparing what is happening now with 1998-2011 is misleading. Since the Elite Player Performance Plan was introduced the access our Academy has to players (because we are category A) is far greater than it ever was before (when we were limited to taking on players who lived within 90 minutes of Southampton, or in our case also of Bath). Now we have the [possibility of scouting young players anywhere, and the funding available is far, far greater than ever before. Yet there is little tangible evidence that our Academy has improved in any way, in fact the opposite appears to be true. If we are truly one of the best academies in the country then we should be competing to compete in the UEFA Youth competitions (yes, there is access outside of the Champs League teams, Middlesbro are competing in the U18s this season as a result of winning the U18s title last season). Playing u18/u21 football is no substitute for playing 1st team football, but experience in top competitions is a major step in the right direction. Yet our Academy u18/u21 teams seem to be going backwards in terms of performance in the leagues. This means we are less and less likely to attract the best young talent in the future even if we do maintain our Category A Status and they will go elsewhere (even good local kids). Its the difference between the perception of our Academy as put forward by Ralph and Les and the reality. Hopefully the club are now starting to address this by signing new young players to bring our academy teams up to a higher standard, the way we used to a few years ago (with Blackstock, Best etc). Unless we have a higher standard of player in our academy the less likely it is for players to break through into the first team.
  24. Give the hassle to a personal assistant. Its not like you or me buying a house with sll the estate agent and solicitor arseholes, let alone dealing with a chain.
  25. Sounds like the actions of someone on their way, good bit of capital investment with the opportunity to rent it out to every Tom, Di ck and footballer.
