  1. FFS are you a Skate? Eleven at least, then we can field the entire team in the Final. We don't have to sign mercenaries, for every mercenary player out there, there are at least 10 who are not. Doubt NC would ever sanction signing a player like Tevez, Cashley Cole, Bridge or the like.
  2. What shocked me was when I checked his stats, he has only just played as many games since he left us as he did with us. Considering at one point he held the record for the most consecutive games in the PL, he really has wasted his talent since he left us, no matter how much he has earned. 151 league games for us, 156 league games for all of this other teams in 9 1/2 seasons. At least even at the age of 31 he probably has 3 or 4 more half seasons in him if he wants to continue playing, though it seems he's not that bothered. 5 years since he last scored a goal. Shocking really.
  3. I suppose a small minority could be 1, really don't think any "fans" would have really said this. If anyone did say this then really they are not SFC fans, sound more like the mongs at Blackburn. The real reason to not have Hoddle back was because he had proven himself to be crap unless he was partnered by John Gorman. Hoddle + Gorman = good partnership, Hoddle - Gorman = below average manager
  4. Maynard has said he doesn't want to join Leicester, so unless the problem was SGE (understandable) then I would be suprprised if they followed up. I sincerely hope we do not spend silly money on a player out of contract in the summer. Clearly we didn't consider him value for money in the last window, and would be surprised therefore if we follow up. I think Sharp is more likely target though I think he is more likely to go to Ipswich.
  5. That would be the same WBA who just recalled 3 players from loans because of their injury crisis. Seems a little unlikely as a source for loans.
  6. Rory Donnelly would not be a token NI player.
  7. You do know that England aren't in the Olympics don't you?
  8. Actually half way point of season is 26th after we play Palace, 23 games played out of 46. Not sure how you can sya "patching things up" has cost us 10 points. If you expected to win all 5 games in that time then you are sadly deluded. I could accepat that it may have cost us 4 points (Wham have closed gap by 4) or even 6 (Boro have closed gap by 6) but 10, don't be silly. Apart from Bart I really don't see that we have patched anything up, we have had a few injuries, show me a club that hasn't, most teams would give their right arm for the shortness of our injury list, just ask Allardyce.
  9. Why not at Boro? They have a very poor home record, drawing most of their games, a point would seem quite achievable. They are much better away. Leeds are also quite average at home, their away record is better, and even WHU have a better away record than home. With the last two there is an expectancy from their home supporters which makes them shaky at home. Possibly the same with Boro. I can see us getting at least a point against all three, which of course means taking points from them as well.
  10. Wrong Boyd, we need George not Kris.
  11. I heard he is joining the Kaiser Chiefs on drums. Not even a musician, let alone a footballer.
  12. But he also made it quite clear that he had little or no regard for us since then and had no idea about us this season. I gather from the coverage today that he was also not very prolific when he was with us. If that was the case why did Blackburn pay so much money for him? 43 goals from when he was 17 to 21 is not a bad return in my opinion. Shearer has one love, the Barcodes.
  13. Humphrey may be better known for F1 these days, but he was much better known for football until 2 years ago, presenting Football Focus and Final Score many times. He's a Norwich supporter though so probably has little knowledge of football. He was quite dull today though, granted, but then the whole presenatation was dull. Bit like the Sky Championship presentations, Sky are only any good when it is a top PL game, and ITV have always been ****e at best. Shame really that they got Shearer as the "Saints" player, because it was quite clear that he has no great affection for Saints and had little or no clue about us this season, whereas Claridge as alwasy was very complimentary to Saints and proves over and over again that despite what many on here think that he is actually a very intelligent and fair summariser. As for Martin Keown, please BBC get someone with some personaility.
  14. Not arguing with you about whether Harding is thick, but disagree about him taking responsibility to defend the post, these things are planned to the nth degree on the training field. Clearly its not Harding's job. I hope in the future it won't be Guly's either.
  15. Unfortunately you can blame Guly for their goal today, fairly and squarely. He was given the job on the back post (which is strange for a tall fella, you would expect him to be given a marking job but I guess this reflects his lack of heading ability). From the position he was in it was a 50/50 but he clearly bottled it. Was another of his poor games today though, he seems to go through these phases, can be brilliant for a spell and then goes awol for a few games. Inconsistent, but on his day a great asset. If we had had a real option today I suspect NA would have replaced him before the Skate goal.
  16. Was at the game today, so presumably must have been considered ready for the bench (usually take 19 and reduce down to 16 on the day I believe). Don't recall seeing Chappers though he looks OK in training.
  17. Be very surprised if it wasn't the top priority. It was in the summer (along with a CB), although ultimately we did not buy and remains so now. Still think we also need another CB since its clear Jaidi and Seaborne won't feature much if at all this season. Yes a RW would be good as well.
  18. Its you and your ilk that need to get a grip, shown yourself to be one of what I was referring to as well. Mongs don't just reside in Pompey. Sick bastards. Fatality on the line does not necessarily mean what you are probably thinking. Try to imagine losing one of your loved ones a week before Christmas. Then again you probably don't have any. I sincerely hope the OP got to the game, shame that their heartfelt, well meant appeal brought some of the lowlife out of their hovels.
  19. Flares are so 70s
  20. We have some sick mongs on this board.
  21. Nothing lucky about it. We are top because we were so much better than everyone else (so far ahead) that even a mini slump (4 points from 4) has not allowed others to overtake. But we do need to get back to regular winning ways, preferably tomorrow.
  22. Boro's home form is very poor (although they draw most of their games W4 D6 L1), their away record is excellent. Cardiff's away record is average (W3).
  23. One of the 3 over-age players will almost certainly be a goal keeper. Its virtually standard practice to have experience between the sticks.
  24. Think they are getting mixed up with a previous incumbent (or perhaps more than one). Referring to NC as a comical buffoon would indicate the rest of the article might also be nonsense. Perhaps I should read it to find out.
  25. I suppose Cork might be considered, but would need to shine in 2nd half of season. Are France participating? If so Spiderman may be involved. Both have represented their country at every level so far except full international, and are both 22 (I assume the u23 rule is at the start of this season).
