Here come our new 'rivals'...

Disappointed. Local side, self funding, no big names, just hard work and good management. Come on yooooo Cherries! -
Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official

Probably so, but in this case I would rather he wasn't pressed for a decision until the end of the season. Let's keep our eyes and minds focused on the football matches and at the end of the season, we will all know where we are. If we get a Europa league place, Clyne at al may sign on. If we miss out, we accept where we are. But what good is a player made to sign when he wasn;t ready to commit and then disenchanted next season. Let it go, let it go ..... -
Judging by his facial expression, he isn't looking ahead with much relish. #suckingonalemon

I've made these comments before ...no need to put him in the shop window this season ...unless that is what we are trying to do! Much as I love the romantic idea that he will come on and score crucial goals in the final 3 games that win us 4th place ...its unlikely to happen, and I also fear he could set himself back in his recovery and not be available by August. Not a pessimist, just a realist.

Agree that. It's just how to get the best from Tadic. Do we play him from the start and when he burns out on 60 mins, replace him? Or just give him the final 30 minutes when he is fresh and can play to the max? I'm in the second group.
-
Yes, that's why I would save him and use him from the bench. He does seem to play better when coming on as sub.

Man City, or not in the EPL, I would say.

You can be a 'conspiracy theorist' if you want, but RK was clear he wasn't dropped, he was rested, after internationals and a run of domestic games. Not sure Toby covered himself in glory, he was pretty poor, and RK has already stated 'Calvin' Clyne is back in the side for this weekend. -
Well, if Messi still wants to play with FF, he can get his agent to call Saints to consider a transfer. Of course, he would have to agree with fit within our wage structure But money isn't everything, he gets to play with the best.

Just have a standard that players are offered a new contract 18 months before expiry of existing and if not accepted by 12 months to go, then sold to highest bidder. We can't sell off players with 24 or "only 36 months" left on the contract. I don't think we have to worry too much if players choose to move on, as our stock now is high and we can attract replacements. That said, don't want to lose anyone, but accept we will, and we will bring in replacements. Thankfully the days of drama and crisis and emergencies are behind us.

------------Davis----------- Clyne Fonte Yoshi Bertrand -Schneiderlin -Alderweireld- Djuricic*-------JWP------Mane -------------Pellè----------- *if fit I would save Long for the bench. He and Tadic to come on and refresh us.

Meanwhile ... back to the football. Michu (Swansea), we were once interested (allegedly) ..... likely to be sold with only a year left on his contract ... one or two million offer??
-
Ah wow, there's a thought. Can we remind him that Pompey is his "spiritual home" after all!!
-
BBC Gossip page says Newcastle want him too and they will bid £10M. Hope we get him.

I wish them well and hope they get up. I think they will too. As Redslo notes above, how about we treat them with respect, and maybe they will treat us the same way. I might be biased, working in Poole, so I have to get on with the natives. Don't know how they would do next season in the Prem, but they can cross that bridge when they come to it. -
So is anyone except me going to the game? Or can I sit anywhere I like? Seems the choice of referee is putting everyone off going?
-
Love that 70 years later they are asking Germany for reparations!
-
Yes, my thought too. HCDAJFU Summer 2015, and HILTPO 2015. (He is likely to *iss off = HILTPO)
-
I thought they just offered him a 4 or 5 year contract, which was unusual for an over 30?? If they're not sure on him, send him our way as a makeweight in the deal.
-
I'd go the other way. Djuricicicicic wants to play for us, Gaston thinks he is too good for us. And I'm sure Gaston costs us twice as much in wages. Not entierly sure Djuri should stay, but can't see any future for Gaston, unless he drops his wages and ups his attitude.
-
Yeah, I like that. If Leicester go down, the lure of the top half of the Premier may interest him.

Martin Odegaard again .... https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/football-real-madrid-martin-%C3%B8degaard-frozen-zinedine-zidane-112655275--sow.html

I was thinking that if Arsenal do go for Cabaye, they won't come after Morgan!?

If Lallana and Lambert had stayed.....
the saint in winchester replied to Saint IQ's topic in The Saints
If you're only as good as your last game, then for us Lambert and Lallana were v.good. Don't get all this 'busted flush' nonsense. They were on top of their game when they left and didn't get bad over the summer. Lallana is still playing well but not playing every game, and poor Rickie has been ruined by not playing at all. Would Pelle have joined if Rickie hadn't asked to leave? Only Koeman knows.
