Southampton: An example to the rest of the Prem
the saint in winchester replied to bridgeman's topic in The Saints
A pretty opinionated article IMHO. They talk about us "losing Pochiettino". We didn't lose him, Spurs stole him. They dismiss Shaw, Lovren, Lambert and Lala-land with phrases their lawyers would pore over. If it's intended as a complimentary article, it didn't read like it. -
I went into this with a degree of confidence so a bit corrected by 16/22. Can I try again? lols.

Let me guess .... are they slagging the board off for getting rid of Pardew Got to feel a bit sorry for them they way Ashley is and runs the club, but they were stupid to hound Pardew out like that so the sympathy is limited. Have I missed something? Did Pardew not leave of his own accord, and Palace had to pay compensation to Newcastle? Was he 'got rid of' or 'hounded out'?

Wages as % of turnover is a more telling stat. We are almost 60%, pretty high. Man Utd wages itself may be the highest, but only 50% of turnover. Any clubs at over 100% are committing financial suicide.

He's playing the same sort of role as Eden Hazard, and look at his goal record. I don't dislike Long, the problem is that because Pelle is so immobile, Long is running all over the place.

Will Wood and Armani Little sign professional deals
the saint in winchester replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Someone has nicked Will Wood's watch already! -
Agree. Gallagher's "quiet first half" Mowgli, was due to playing on the right of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1. When he played up top, he looked much better. No better strike at SMS this seasom, so yes, would have him on the bench. That's the first time I have seen Seager and he looked sharp, so maybe him too. Agree with David, though, that Hesketh was MoM.

Fan banned for 3 years after Saints - Arsenal game
the saint in winchester replied to red&white56's topic in The Saints
More likely an Arsenal fan remonstrating with Wenger, I would have thought. But Garrettivo is right, you shouldn't allow your emotions to get you to the point of confronting a manager to mock/plead etc. Even if he's a Saints fan, I would say that. -
Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?

Just seen this on skysports site - their judgement on the Liverpool signings ..... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/9815004/balotelli-lallana-can-liverpools-summer-signings-rated-by-tony-gale-on-the-morning-view It won't surprise you to learn that Lambert, Lallana, Lovren were all voted a hit/miss - can you guess?

Eastleigh edging closer to Play Offs
the saint in winchester replied to ericofarabia's topic in The Saints
If Eastleigh make a play-off final, is it at Wembley? Quite fancy another day out at Wembley. -
Davis - Par Forster - Par Clyne - Hit Bertrand - Hit Fonte - Hit Alderweireld - Hit Yoshida - Hit Gardos - Fail Targett - Hit Schneiderlin - Hit Wanyama - Hit JWP - Par Davis - Par Tadic - Par Elia - Fail Reed - insufficient evidence to rate Djuricic - insufficient evidence to rate Long - Par Mane - Hit Pelle - for what we need, Fail Koeman - Hit

That made me chuckle ... and I have to agree with you.

Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?
the saint in winchester replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Have a bad feeling about the rest of the season now.I can see us losing against Tottenham, Leicester and Man City - they all have so much to play for.Villa players will be playing for a Cup Final shirt. Can't see where we can pick up the points we need to get to 5th or 6th. 7th for me, and we are relying on snookers for a Europa Cup berth. -
another "saints linked to" story.......
the saint in winchester replied to Roboze's topic in The Saints
Yes please to both. -
Left it a bit late to book flights for May half term week, at reasonable prices anyway. Everywhere is £350 a pop, and there being 3 or 4 of us travelling makes it prohibitive. I see I can get reasonable priced ferry trips from Dover to Calais. I'm a bit ignorant about France, only been to Brittany and Normandy for day trips so far. So, my question : is there somewhere within max 2 hour drive of Calais that is a good holiday area? Ideally beach/lake/sand, scenic views/natural attractions, things for teenagers, restaurants/eateries, supermarket etc? I had a google and some bloke in the Telegraph wrote about the Opal Trail. Other than that, I am ignorant on where to go from calais. Appreciate your help? Interested in your comments if you know the area. thanks

Hey, look who's back in town. So what is your man's plan for next season, Irene? Sign a perm deal with Bournemouth, or go back to Poland? I'm assuming we can't tempt him to play for Saints, as first choice???

Here come our new 'rivals'...
the saint in winchester replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
OK, I meant self-funding as in "not using relegation parachute payments" to lord it over others. Accept they have a wealthy benefactor.
