  1. Fusu backwards is Usuf. Usuf sounds like Yousef. Yousef el Nasri is a Spanish long distance runner. Samir Nasri is an Arsenal player that wants out. I conclude, it is Samir Nasri. I rest my case.
  2. We will walk this league. Seriously I think we have the squad to beat anyone already, and that's before any additions are made in August and January. Losing Oxo would be a blow, but I think overall people are being over-cautious. Look to finish first this season, anything else, bar relegation battles, is a good season.
  3. The six game deal actually seems like quite a good deal. I cannot visit SMS often enough for warranting a season ticket die to work, and even if I could I'm not sure I could afford it either. I visit SMS about 12 times a season, and that deal at Southampton would seem excellent value, especially as the local derby isn't excluded from the list of fixtures.
  4. The Puncheon offer from QPR for cash + Gorkss got me thinking whether player exchanges are a good idea or a bad idea. I see today in the BBC Gossip column that Tottenham are after Christopher Samba, and are offering cash and any of Defoe, Bassong, Keane or Bentley in exchange. At first glance, I would take all four of those as an exchange deal, but the wages and player's willingness to defer to Blackburn would have to be taken into account. I was racking my brains thinking about the times we have had a player exchanged for one of our players. We all reckon we got stiffed by Tottenham when we pulled off the masterstroke of getting Forecast in as part-exchange for Bale, but I remember at the time with the re-signing of Kevin Davies (and the loss of Ostenstadt) that it seemed like a good deal considering their ages and potential. Graeme Le Saux was a fairly decent stop gap for Bridge's departure to Chelsea too. Are there any more examples of a Saints player-exchange that I've forgotten, and do you think it is a good idea to sign a player in exchange that may not want to be here in the first place?
  5. I take it we're not signing Antonio then. Whilst selection headaches are heaven for some, I wonder how Lallana, Guly, De Ridder, Oxo and even Forte will fit into two slots! Oh, and Holmes too.
  6. Doncaster fans are getting ripped off good and proper.
  7. Seems a great way for one lucky fan to tell their grandchildren that they were there when Portsmouth had a football team.
  8. Lallana. Better than Messi fo sho.
  9. Can you dip a Bourbon biscuit in Bourbon safely?
  10. 2. I think we have the quality to make the play-offs. Cup half full, and all that jazz.
  11. Portsmouth's branch of Rymans must be wondering why plain brown envelopes are their best seller.
  12. And he wanted to wait for an offer from the Premiership.
  13. I'm sleepy and horny. Tevez is an ugly git. We only want sexy footballers playing for us!
  14. Carlos Es-Tevez is Charlie Sheen's real name. Fact.
  15. I've got it nailed on. Even if my midfield is toilet.
  16. I wish I'd known about this thread 2 minutes ago. It was a stinger.
  17. EXACTLY! Stupid useless glassfaced arseweasel. Jussi Jaaskelinen stepped in, and I can't even bloody spell his name!
  18. Came in handy. Effing Craig Gordon. I'm in, WinningIsNot4Losers will not win. I make this statement now, to get the embarrassment out of the way.
  19. When I've seen them live, Seaborne and Martin have looked assured, it's Jaidi I've always thought of as the liability given his age. He does play well at times Jaidi but perhaps a step up may prove too much for him. People don't rate Seaborne, and he's not ever going to be Premiership quality, but he's still our best option to partner Fonte. Martin will be good, but I'd rather give him time to ease into Championship life. All in all it seems we are a centre back short, a top quality, Premiership quality (or Premiership potential) rock. (I also think we're a decent right back short but the two we have can do a job in the short term.)
  20. Could keep Barny company on the pitch and in the nick.
  21. I'm disinterested with England games too, I've always stated that I'm a Saints fan first and an England fan a distant second. (I think the majority of this country are club over country too tbf, without knowing the statistics.) I follow England games because they usually occur when no club football is on and because of a small amount of patriotism. If Saints lose, I'm gutted. If England lose? Meh. (And yes, I realise celebrating if England win the World Cup or Euros makes me a hypocrite, but I tend to get swept up in fads.)
  22. I occassionally have a jokey dig at my fiancee, but to be fair she keeps me very well. I'll get my dinner done for me (although I do chip in every now again), I get my tea and coffees made without asking, and I get my washing done. (Although I do the ironing). She also cleans the house (she has undiagnosed OCD) and gives me loving without much fuss. She has also started pulling out the few grey hairs that are appearing, and I get a massage or back scratch just by asking with little to no complaint. I'm a terrible partner too, even I wouldn't want to live with me. I'm sure that when we have kids, I'll have very little to do with their nurturing. :-) Which got me thinking, what does your missus (or man) do for you that makes her/him special in your eyes?

  24. Thanks. On the upside, i'll be skint after the wedding, so if I divorce the dozy mare she can't take me for every penny! (I have saved enough back for the odd trip to SMS though!)
  25. You beat me to the punch. I get married next year and this is what we're doing. We don't need material things, as we've lived together for four years and have what we need so aren't having a wedding list, but as I'm funding the whole wedding myself due to neither parental unit having any spare cash, we won't be able to afford a honeymoon. I don't earn much but have saved well, but any extra help to get us on a honeymoon would be much appreciated. Thus we're giving people the chance to buy us holiday vouchers. As much as people want to give. We won't kick up a stink if we don't end up in the Maldives, even a weekend in Bognor Regis would be something! We won't look down on friends and family that give us nothing, that's their choice. We're not showy people anyway, I've noticed an upturn in Americanisation of weddings, a "look at me" culture where the bride and gloom choreograph their own first dance. I'd be embarrassed as sin. I watched that Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and it nearly made me sick.
