Our amazing win has put us all on cloud 9. Real chance of another 3 points, but I don't see Huddersfield rolling over. Mooy a huge loss for them, but feel we will still need to be at our best again to get 3 points. Hopefully RH can get another good weeks work in, to build on the encouraging start on Sunday. Hope the players take great confidence from Sunday but also keep their feet on the ground. A lot of hard work to come and need to work just as hard Saturday to make sure we don't get egg on our faces. A long road ahead but finally we have some hope. COYR

Huddersfield will play at lot of long ball & crosses. Cedric is a not a great defender and awful in the air. Valery is a rough diamond, but miles better in the air than Cedric. I missed Cardiff (thankfully) and heard Valery got roasted. However I have seen him vs. Leicester, Man U. & Arsenal and have been very impressed given the circumstances. Valery has great potential and has everything in his locker attribute wise. With the right coaching, we could have a player here. I would have Cedric on the bench (needs a kick up the ass) and play Valery. My guess is that RH will do just that.

Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often
doggface replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Win, lose or draw that was much better. A clear identity again. Managed to nick the game and who could say we didn’t deserve it. Hard to pick a motm as a great shift from the lot of them, but ings provided a couple of great goals and makes such a difference when he plays. A couple of dodgy moments & 2 poor goals again, but something to build on and more importantly DID NOT IMPLODE. Huge result, players will be buzzing this week & hopefully display same qualities vs hudders. Mooy a massive miss for them -

SS i know it's been done before and that was the line trotted out, but why would the club ask for a canvass of opinion if this was a non-starter? -

Totally agree with this. Always seen this as a huge disadvantage, just like the archers. We need both ends behind the goal. Vocal fans generally want away fans close, for the banter but they need to be moved to the kingsland or itchen ASAP. -
Massive game, gonna be optimistic - we sneak it 2-1.

Slattery, Barnes, Vokins all training with the 1st team.

I don't think it's weird at all. We know the in's and out's of most of these players, a decent gaffer can only improve them a small percentage. You can't polish a turd.

Squad is poor, not sure where this myth comes from that this group of players is decent or even average. I believe a decent manager can get a little more out of the current lot, but not much more. So much deadwood, much more should have been done during the summer! We must wheel & deal a little in January to save our season and get in 3-4 players minimum- CB, CF, RB, WINGER in order of urgency. Wholesale changes needed in the summer. Everyone up for sale in my eyes, however need to get rid of the SELL & consider selling the FENCE is how I see it. Good luck Ralph, gonna need it! Keepers summary: Sound MCCARTHY- Keep GUNN- Keep & challenge FORSTER- Sell/loan if ANY takers What we need: n/a Fullbacks summary: Unchallenged CEDRIC- Sell VALERY- Keep & challenge BERTRAND- Keep if he wants to be here, sell if his hearts not in it TARGETT- Fence What we need: A right back that can defend. Sell Cedric & buy Clyne. Even if regressed, instant upgrade Centre halfs summary: Car crash STEPHENS- Keep & challenge BEDNAREK- Fence YOSHIDA- Fence HOEDT- Sell VESTERGAARD- Sell, been here 2 minutes but PL is just too quick for him What we need: A stop gap at with leadership skills at worst (Cahill), at best an intermediate raw VVD style player would be the attributes required. Central Midfield summary: Inconsistent ARMSTRONG- Keep LEMINA- Keep HOJBERG- Keep ROMEU- Fence JWP- Fence REED- Fence, consider recall if option DAVIS- Free, thanks for the great service What we need: Ok in this area, not priority unless a gem was available to displace a starter. Wingers summary: No end product REDMOND- Fence SIMS- Keep, recall ELYOUNOUSSI- Fence, What we need: Desperate for a pacey winger with even a little end product. Forwards summary: Chronically goal shy INGS- Keep OBAFEMI- Keep GALLAGHER- Fence GABBI- Fence LONG- Sell AUSTIN- Sell What we need: Desperate for a strong, mobile & dynamic centre forward that can challenge double figures

Irrespective of the pens, we actually played well tonight. Lots of positives, 3-0 wouldn't have flattered us imo. That said it's only the league cup and Leicester have been dog****. For once we have been unlucky. (Not every week as Hughes would suggest) Pens - Gunn nowhere near any of them. 2 ****e identikit pens from Leicester should have saved them both. Would realistically like to see Obafemi start on Saturday with Ings/Redmond, Armstrong behind, Vestergaard in for Hoedt. Would like to see Valery for Cedric but won't happen. Stephens in if a 3, was decent. Hoedt, Austin should be nowhere near the 11 or even on the bench.

Yes, Wilson's puff pieces have become increasingly erratic in recent months. I listened to him on Saints FC pod recently and didn't think he came across as particularly well which surprised me. Saints PR is terrible and getting worse, just like the 1st team.

Best pod on SFC, mid way through so far - WW1 piece was particularly well done -
The only area we look strong is goalkeeper. Sad state of affairs.

This is a very odd dictated article from within the club. I think they will sack Hughes if we lose to Fulham anyway. I fully expect us to lose. Only comment of interest is they are targeting a new CB in VVD and forward with pace in Mane mould. That would be cheap! Will believe that when I see it as everything else has pointed to no signings in January.

Please read Ralphs interview today and that should answer all your questions.

Another Ralph PR Masterpiece. The ownership board making key club decisions know less about soccer than a new born baby. The ownership board made the decision to sack Reed & Hunter but have no clue what the next structure looks like...At all. The ownership board think these sackings will directly effect 1st team performance and results. We have a deep roster that can get the southampton football club back to a single digit championship year - so no need at all for January trades. Confident our deep roster will get us back on track, after all Ralph watched them scrimmage at the arena yesterday and they made some great plays and touch downs. Jesus wept. We are ****ed.

Manolo Gabbiadini: Joins Sampdoria - Official

Give the guy a run with Ings IMO. Austin is done, Long never scores. Obafemi on the bench as a wild card. -
I think the timing was right. I was feeling better the devil you know during the summer, but the last roll of the dice has failed. Did some great work but last few years have been a car crash. Finally some decisive action from the club.
