he is playing very well at the moment and very well taken goal

I've said before and i will say again.....i just don't think we are to fussed about Austin. At the right price he might have been a good addition but i trust we can find an alternative for a fraction of the price.
-
we should all know by now Saints do their business quietly.....the press/agents want to link us with everyone under the sun and we might end up signing someone that someone vaguely linked us to......throw enough **** and eventually some will stick. None of us know who is on our shopping list, we just have a reasonable idea what positions need to be filled, the rest is just pure speculation. I trust the club totally to sign players that will improve us and will be happy to only hear anything when the new players have officially signed and are wearing the "watch"!

I'm with window cleaner on this one....i am not convinced we are interested
-
If we are seriously interested in Austin (which i have my doubts about) i cannot honestly see why if he has the choice between us and Newcastle he would choose them. Newcastle....seriously badly run club, a club not going anywhere, hardly an inspiring choice of new manager, no European football and in the other corner we have Southampton!!!...enough said. If he doesn't come here i don't believe we were interested.
-
That is not entirely true. If anyone cares to look back when Ings name was first mentioned i stated i had it on very good authority that Ings has 2 offers on the table...one from Saints and one from Liverpool. It came directly from Ings sister here in Southampton. Ings is very close to her and her children and because of very personal reasons he was considering coming here. Now what has happened between then and now is anyones guese...it could be Saints interest that they made known to him late last year cooled or the family problem no longer became a problem......If i was not a 100% confident on what i posted i would not bother....i dont look for some ITK recognition, purely keeping fellow Saints in the picture about something i was lucky enough to be privy to.

god this is a bloody awful game

I didnt think i was too bothered if we made Europe or not.......BUT HELL YES I AM....We bloody deserve it!

Europe here we come!!!!

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
BARCELONASAINT replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
for what it is worth this is my view on our possible transfer market activity. IF we qualify for Europe i would not be surprised if our plan was for our existing squad being capable of getting us to the group stages. Get to the group stages and we see some extra faces brought in.....don't qualify and we might lose a couple that will be replaced but nothing else. -
Who's digging out their 'Be a Gooner for the day' t-shirt?
BARCELONASAINT replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
would normally cheer on the underdog but obviously want Arsenal to win......if West Spam can qualify through fair play, then i can accept us qualify because of Arsenal winning. -
Goalkeepers Forster-8 We really missed the big guy towards the end Davis-6 Great servant and did not let us down when called upon Gazzaniga-5 Still not convinced Defenders Clyne-7 Excellent first half of the season, shame he tailed off Fonte-10 Top class leader and has really come on this season Toby-9 Probably would have been a 10 if he had stayed injury free.....now sign for Saints!! Yoshida-7 Has been solid when called upon Gardos-6 very little to judge him on. Strange signing on the face of it. Bertrand-9 Shrewd shrewd business Saints. Excellent first season. Targett-6 Has not let us down when called upon. Bright future hopefully ahead of him. Midfielders Davis-7 I like Davis and don't understand why he gets so much stick. He is reliable and does whats required. A few goals would help. Wanyama-8 The rock...enough said Reed-6 In patches he has shown what a decent player he could become. He is still learning and next season i feel is a big one for him if we get Europa football JWP-7 another much maligned player who i personally think is quality. He needs to learn how to defend better but technically he is one of our best. Morgan-9 This lad will be so difficult to replace if he goes. He really is the real deal Tadic-7 excellent first half of the season and difficult to understand why he went off the boil so dramatically in the second half. Djuricic-5 Not convinced Attackers Pelle-8 first season in the Premiership with the responsibility of our main goal threat. Give the guy a break he did well Mane-8 wasn't convinced at first but wow he has shown he has the attributes to be a great player for us....please stay on your feet, you are a gazzelle Long-7 Reminds me of Brett Ormerod, never stops running and occasionally scores. Forget the price tag and the guy did ok Ellia-5 not convinced

I think things will become clearer after next Saturday. Who stays and who goes may well be effected by us either playing European football or not. Europa football might be a bit of a nightmare for the managers of those clubs in the competition but i bet the players would rather be in that competition than nothing....otherwise whats the point?
-
interesting couple of changes considering whats possibly at stake.

I just love this club. Brilliant atmosphere there tonight. Some powerful speaches that really make you feel this club is in safe hands. Really enjoyed it tonight and i will be very surprised is Fonte is going anywhere.

Barry Gale.....bloody legend!!!

I totally get why so many fans hate Brendan Rogers for the remarks he made about our club last summer and why they would love to see players leave an average Liverpool side for a team that will win something. However this thing with the likes of Sterling wanting to move, Shaw, Chambers and to some extent Lallana.....I can totally get why these players moved if i forget about football for 1 minute. I bet everyone of them has an agent or family member telling them "look at JRod"....his career could have been over and will he ever be the same player again (i bet there are loads of example of such players). A footballers career could be over so quickly and unless they are major top earners they will probably have to find an alternative career. Can anyone of us blame them for chasing the cash cow while it is still available to them??? Is there one of us that would not do the same to make sure we never had to do a normal job in our lives and in the process secure our families future??? My heart tells me i would play for SFC until my dying days irrespective of money......my head tells me to stop being a stupid ****er and take the money!
-
to be fair i watched the first half and thought we were the much better side. We could easily have been 2 up when they scored their first. 2nd was a cracking strike but poor defending on the edge of our own box........didn't bother watching the second half.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 6-1 Aston Villa
BARCELONASAINT replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I have a sore throat this evening from singing and cheering so much. Manes record wil around for years to come and i'm happy i will be able to say I WAS THERE! Excellent last home game of the season with some beautiful football that was reminiscent of our first half of the season form. I so want us to keep this squad together with a few quality additions. Thank you Saints for a brilliant season, so much more than most of us could have expected last summer. -
seriously do we want Europa league football?.......we have been **** poor since January. The transfer window proved to me we were not serious about Europe unless they were deluded to think we could maintain our 1st half a season form throughout the whole season...really??? We have no way got a squad capable of competing on both fronts. Don't get me wrong, i think this has been a brilliant season considering what happened pre-season....just a shame we have been so poor since January

I posted much earlier in the season that i had it on very good authority that we were in for INGS and that Liverpool were also interested and he had a decision to make. I wasn't prepared to say at the time who this had come from other than a family member he is very close to. I have heard nothing since that post and have no idea where INGS will be next season but i will now say that the information came directly from INGS sister who lives here in Southampton. For what it's worth i think he would be a useful addition.

Bournemouth have been very good

#SaintsAtWembley: Five years on from the JPT win

hope no one ever forgets how much we owe not only to Markus for saving us but to Katherine for keeping the dream going. Fantastic memories from that day. -
Saints agree personal terms with Tonny Vilhena - Unofficial
BARCELONASAINT replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I'm confident the management know exactly who will NOT be here next season and already know who their replacements SHOULD be. Obviously those replacements still have to sign. The only very slight doubt may have been the very slight chance we had of getting a CL spot. That might have tempted one or two to stay, although i'm not convinced that would have been the case. Money talks above all else for 99% of footballers and a CL spot by itself would not have been enough to hold onto the 2/3 players that are almost certainly off in the summer.
