  1. We were always going to struggle to match last seasons efforts. The fact is, in the summer it was easier for the likes of Stoke, Palace and Leicester to strengthen. We had to sell first, then attempt a minor rebuild. Very much a case of one step forward, two steps back. I think our recent success has led to too many people expecting improvement season after season. It's simply not possible with the way we are run. We're all p1ssed off with our terrible form, but we will turn it round. We can moan how Leicester and Watford are better than us, but if they keep it up then it's doubtful they will be lining up with as strong strikeforces next season. We have the FA cup still, the league campaign was always going to disappoint. The most frustrating thing was the Europa league exit. Now Ron has the Christmas period to show what he's really made of. Will be interesting to see who he picks for the Arsenal game. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  2. Let's just wait and see where they are at the end of the season Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  3. But it's absolutely impossible with the way the club is run. The fact is we sell our best players, if that's the strategy, fine. But for Les Reed to say the aim is still Champions League is just ridiculous. It's just frustrating that all the talk isn't backed up by showing some balls in the transfer market, in terms of both buying and selling. We are having a bit of a crisis, but it's to be expected. No need to panic just yet, but the next few fixtures are worrying, as is the lack of goals in this team. Maybe Koeman is starting to run out of ideas. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  4. Can't remember the last time a build up thread was so negative. 6 weeks ago we would have been confident of getting a result. I fully expect our revival to begin tomorrow. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  5. Gazzaniga?? Yoshida??? Long??? Seriously????? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  6. It's crazy. Arsenal had two poor results ( lost at WBA and a point of Norwich) and have gotten away with it. City looked to be running away with it but have shown that even they can't cope with their best players being injured. Leicester look like the only team who want to win it! Think it will be between City and Arsenal, it really will depend on Aguero's fitness for the rest of the campaign imo. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  7. All that title talk and they are 2 points ahead of us. I know we are on a bad run of form and everyone thinks we are in some sort of crisis, but a few weeks ago we were playing some decent stuff and getting good results. There's no reason we can't turn things around. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  8. The league is so competitive this season, it's all going to come down to fine margins. There's no real standout team, and Newcastle, Villa and (a slightly improving) Sunderland appear to be the only real **** sides. We really have as much chance of finishing 7th as we do 17th. RoKo really needs to show what he is made of and overcome this poor run of form. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  9. Just going through a bad spell at the moment. It's difficult to be bothered about today's result, wednesday was the important game. First real test for RoKo now to get us fired up again for Christmas and the FA Cup. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  10. Yep, we can go and beat them 6-1 like last season, and it will count for very little. The only positive is we can still sort ourselves out before the first FA cup game. Is the draw in the next few days? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  11. Spot on. How can we possibly claim Champions League football is the aim, when we continue with the transfer strategy we have? Last season was sadly as close as we will ever get. This year the league is far more competitive. Liverpool and Spurs have both improved significantly, as well as the likes of Stoke and Leicester. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  12. It's not about the response on Saturday at all, we can get beaten 10-0 for all I care. Tonight was important, the most important game for us for a year. A decent chance for silverware and we ****ed it up. It's simply unforgivable. Still, at least we might beat Villa and go 8th in the league or something, that would really make up for the disappointment of tonight. Only the FA cup to play for now.
  13. He offers very little other than an occasional good delivery into the box. One goal ( which was a penalty) says it all. He's had a few seasons now and isn' t really developing or improving. I've said for a while he's a championship player at best. For some reason though, maybe because he's another one from the academy, we are meant to give him time. Enough is enough. 14. Our biggest game in over a year. Losing is not an option. I think Klopp will rest a few, especially as they are playing tomorrow. Think we will just do it, 2-1 (Pelle 28, Tadic 72) (Ibe 81) Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  15. I remember the Fulham game in our first season back. Yoshida had a shocker, he,s clearly not comfortable there, thought RoKo might have realised this Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  16. I'd agree, not the right attitude really, but I'd happily lose if we can win Wednesday. Without Hart and Kompany I think we should try and get at them. I fear Aguero may be back om form today though. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  17. One game out of how many? I am still a massive fan of Pelle, it's as much the fact he gets isolated and poor service. Will be interesting to see how Koeman sets us up, might even be worth resting a few and giving the likes of Yoshida and JWP a start. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  18. Difficult game, Pelle is no big loss as he is invisible for big away games anyway. Pack the midfield with Mane as the frontman. Think it will be a routine 2-0 City win, far more concerned with the Liverpool game. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  19. MP finally getting the best out of Spurs. With the way other sides have performed they look to have a massive chance of top 4 Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  20. We look so lethargic after the international breaks. Luckily the next one isn't until March. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  21. Biggest game of our season so far by a mile *****il the semi-final)We won't make the top 6 and won't get relegated. Sadly there's not a lot to play for so in the league. The capital one cup is a realistic opportunity for silverware. If we lose at City next week I can deal with that, losing against Liverpool is not an option. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  22. We always seem to struggle after international breaks, that is why i said a draw would be a good result on the pre-match thread. Stoke are a good side and I think many underestimated them. It was a poor performance, just one of those days. Still, no need for a meltdown, our form was good before this so it's likely to dip, and i can't see that changing against City next week. We should really have one eye on the Liverpool game now. Draw a blue line under this and move on. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  23. The league doesn't need to be the priority though, it's a lot more competitive this year and i doubt we will match last season's tally. The cups must be our number one focus. We aren't Man city or Arsenal, it's almost arrogant to be expecting to beat Stoke at home, it's a tough game. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  24. Stoke are a decent side. Coming back off an International break a draw would be a very good result. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  25. I think we are playing as well, it's not so much that we have a stronger squad. We had a bit of luck last season and to get the same points total again isn' t realistic. Important to remember Mane was **** until christmas last season, and Pelle went missing for half a season. This season the front 3 have been playing well, Van Dijk is a great Toby replacement, and Romeu and Clasie are decent options for the DM role. If anything, it' s better we started poorly, as it has helped the team work on errors, and it saves any delusional talk of a 4th place finish like we had last year. We have a reasonable run if fixtures and should be in the mix for a top 8 finish. The cups must be the priority though. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
