How many of them could be classified as 'good chances' though? You can also have a million shots on goal, but if you're shooting in non-threatening positions that won't matter. For me, it's how we play. We're way too slow, allowing the opposition to easily organise defensively. There's no quick switch of play or patterning of play - it's a bit of a mess really.. the only thing I ever see is the intuitive overlap of the fullbacks and us banging crosses in to no-one in the area. That 'style' of football is the coaching teams responsibility. That said, we haven't invested properly either - but the team is far, far better than their performances suggest. A team on board with their manager would not churn out some of the terrible performances we've had to endure this season.

You can have a million forwards to choose from, if you aren't creating and playing insipid football it'll not matter a jot.

Mmmmhmmmmm kinda said that for years. Has belting games but in general inbetween, he's at best average and protected by a usually stubborn CB and DM bloc. The midfield part of of that has been sold off, so no surprised well concede more now. Forster very exposed and it's probably revealing his frailties more

It's confusing. There's no style or pattern to our play except retaining possession and getting it out wide to bang a hopeful cross in... no incisiveness etc. And incredibly dull.

I reckon Big Dave Merrington.

He's never been commanding at corners despite his size. He gets a bit of a let-off with a few things because of the protection he's had in front of him. Not bothered about the mistake today, par for the course really - it happens. For me, it's his all round game which I've never thought was as good as good as some people believe. I've upgraded my opinion on him though. (Good Champ GK)

We lack the quality of previous seasons, sadly. Not massively surprised, this season will be up and down with all the fixtures, rotation and watered down quality of the squad. We'll obviously be average in the league but a good run in the cups would be good. Then spend big next summer in attempt to keep Virgil from defecting from us and have a proper go at the top 6-7 again..

Finally, people are cottoning on. He's terrible.
