Exactly! As a former GK (at a very low level) the technique and decision making of modern GK's worries me. Not commanding their area and diving and punching the ball back into play instead of around the post are just two of the issues. Great shot stoppers they might be but overall not nearly as good as GK's from years ago.

Exactly right. He robbed himself of a penalty with his theatricals. When will they ever learn?

Morgan Schneiderlin comments in 'France Football' magazine
WokingSaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It was the beginning of the end of the PLC (Holding Company) more like! The Ltd (operating ) company NEVER went into administration (Just saying). The Bar Steward at Barclays then joined the Administrator apparently -
So where are they?? These big money signings we were promised!!?? So far we have signed two relatively unkown players (+ possibly two more I have never heard of) plus a very average left bacK! I have kept the faith until now and have responded to various radio and paper comments that were wide of the mark in my opinion but now, 11 days before the season starts, I am worried, very worried. If they don't deliver soon they will all fall lower than Lowe in my estimation (if you know what I mean)

What a ridiculous comment from MS. What does he mean!!??. How can six years be destroyed because we want him to stay!!! Make him play for the U21's or don't pay him until he agrees to honour his contract. And if it was six wonderful years why not make it at least 7, 0r 8 or ???. Totally p***** off with all these greedy bas*****!!!

I can and have replied direct!

SPOT ON! Whatever the players want we should say 'No More Sales'. RK should get a good squad together and leave the dissenters out until they realise they are not doing their careers any good.
-
Very interesting. Hope it is correct. As a matter of interest, which 'floating bridge' does the name refer to? If it is the one I know you are located very close to me

This is the best post so far. Somebody has got to make a stand sometime. It should never be the case that you can sign a long term contract and then get out of it as soon as it suits you. Make him and any of the others come to heal is what I say. It may cause short term problems but will benefit Saints and the game in general in the long run.

Agree with this but do not understand how a deal could have been completed so far in advance of the transfer window? Is it the case that the transfer has not been registered as yet and texchnically RL remains a Saints player until 30th June?
-
Have I got this wrong but do not contracts run until 30th June? And isn't the transfer window closed until 1st July? If this is correct no player can move before the World Cup?
-
Wonderful statement - just what we wanted to hear! Up Yours Daily Mail! (See today's article - will they print a retraction tomorrow? Don't hold your breath!)

I remember grabbing my ten year old son from by the wall at the front when the pitch invasion started at the end. Trouble was he had taken his brand new leather jacket off and left it on the wall never to be seen again. Anyone want to own up to picking it up!? Mind you he is about 14 stone now - would be a tight fit!
-
Nothing against Terry Paine (Great Player and Servant of the Club) but I would question his appointment in the first place. John Mortimore was appointed Club President and I don't remember anything about him being stood down or resigning. In any case Lawrie Macmenemy should have been appointed to succeed Ted Bates by any reasonable reckoning.

Plus some great games down here in Torquay v Woking, Eastleigh, Pompey etc.!
-
Those of you who slag RL off do not understand what he contributes. Two great passes, two goals plus a goal himself. What more do you want! Will take a lot of replacing.
-
what does this mean?

Not neccessarily stripes (we had periods in the 80's/90's when we didn't have stripes!) but traditional colours e.g. Red Shirts with some white (and possibly black), Black shorts and socks combining all three. And the colourful badge not this bland gold!

Think it was Dodd and Benali and possibly Rudock after a goal against Liverpool in a win where Saints scored four. Can't remember the Liverpool score but I am sure Saints won. Also memorable for Dodd totally outplaying John Barnes.
-
Davis or Gazza Clyne Jos (or Turnbull if Jos is still in the doghouse) Maya Clyne (if fit not even sure) Reed JWP Isgrove Gaston First teamer to be drawn out of a hat So Clyne can definetley play right back but only left back as well if he is fit!!??

Ludwig!!!! They HAVE NOT TURNED ON HIM! I was trying to explain that they (THE DISABLED ATHLETES ORGANISATION) have great regard for him as their PRESIDENT. In many parts of the world the disabled olympics are bigger than the paralympics and many of the greatest sportsmen and women in history are involved in support of it. Look it up. (Last Try to get you to read the original post properly)
-
You seem to have turned my comment on its head. Please look again! I was saying that they (The people of the disabled olympians organisation, not paralympians,) have great respect for him for his work for them.
-
Great to here him talk about experiences I remember well but from his perspective rather than a supporters. ( Is it too much to ask this Christmas that Nicola Cortese finally shows him the respect that he so richly deserves, and the respect that the football world shows him not to mention the disabled Olympic participants and organisers)
