  1. I think you have to say he had a good game, as he scored and got an assist. That said, his defensive frailties were concerning, when the man he was marking passed and moved he rarely went with him quickly enough. If Adkins can get him to concentrate he will be very very good at RM until oxo returns.
  2. I find it amusing and slightly disconcerting that I was at both Shef Weds and MK Dons games and I never noticed the goal music at all.
  3. The bloke behind me yesterday was funny, I'm sure he would've annoyed some on here. He was one of those that literally shouts instruction to the players through the game "yes, pass it, look out wide, good ball Danny, now deliver, no don't shoot, oh no" etc etc. It was tyro league type shouting. The guys next to me were getting annoyed with him I think, but I am quite happy to put up with it. Ultimately the bloke was a passionate, enthusiastic, vocal fan, perhaps after a couple too many lagers but it just showed how much it mattered to him. I would rather stand shoulder to shoulder with him than somebody who sits on their hands all game every game.
  4. I think some people are being pretty harsh on Dan Harding. Sure sone of his crossing wasn't great, but his energy was terrific and he kept providing an outlet in a very compact game. For a full back to keep getting up and down like that takes a lot of stamina and even when the crosses weren't coming off he kept on trying rather than disappearing into his shell. And who is that busting a gut to overlap for our second goal? Oh, it's Dan Harding.
  5. Has it? What did they play?
  6. It's just the way football works, of course Brighton and Bournemouth are going to enjoy the fact that we're not doing as well as we wanted to. I'm sure there was similar bemusement from Spurs fans when we got all angry about them 10 years or so ago. Or when we played the FA Cup final and accused Arsenal fans of arrogance, it was simply because they expected to win it.
  7. Many teams come to St Mary's with one thing and one thing only on their mind, a clean sheet. This makes it extremely tough for us sometimes. Ultimately I will take a dire 1-0 win today.
  8. The win over Sheffield United to stay up under Pearson will live with me forever.
  9. Interesting that he doesn't list his experience as Southampton FC Chairman. Perhaps that's because he ran us into the ground.
  10. First time to Orient, would like to drink within 15 mins walking distance of the ground. Suggestions?
  11. It was only Heskey towards the end... People go on about 98 but I think the real crime is that he wasn't playing for England around 92-94 when they were failing miserably to qualify for a World Cup whilst he was winning game after game for us! Those were his best years as far as I can tell, although correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. Wow. Just wow. My greatest regret as a Saints fan is that I was 5 years too young to fully appreciate Matt at his absolute best, and only saw him 'live' a few times. I love the Blackburn one where the Blackburn fans behind the goal are clapping.
  13. I think it could go either way. He could keep improving and become amazing, or he could stall (see jermaine pennant). It really is almost impossible to tell with young players. Even with a great attitude some never push on from where they are at 17/18.
  14. Green is a brilliant shot stopper, but is not and will never be a world class keeper.
  15. The online system really is sh*t. Unless you want tickets for a game you shouldn't be able to buy for, in which case it's brilliant.
  16. and he's got a tatoo so is more likely to be seen as one of the lads.
  17. I'm 29 and it's the atmosphere which gets to me at this age!
  18. Although we've stumbled with games in hand. I have to believe we can get at least 6 points from those 3 games.
  19. I already tried to move my row D's back and they said they couldn't. Let me know if you have any more success.
  20. The commentary was so so so much improved.
  21. Barnard seems to be one of those players who splits opinion. The guys behind me are always moaning about him "falling over", whereas i think he's just very good at winning free kicks when under pressure receiving the ball on his own with his back to goal. It is easy to be slightly blinded to a players weaknesses if he works his socks off, but I don't care, his workrate lifts the crowd and the rest of the team at times.
  22. I think you are probably going to be looking for a season ticket holder who has been to quite a few away games but isn't going to those, as these games are apparently going to a ballot.
  23. A plate of curry in the hospitality suite perhaps.
  24. Sky have the dates for Football League playoffs on their schedule page. First legs listed as 12th - 14th May, second legs as 16th - 20th.
