Called it over 6 years ago. As was common place back then anyone who didn't worship at Corteses altar, who dared criticise anything or anyone at the club was a troll with who had an agenda  https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?40914-Les-Reed-the-cushiest-job-in-the-world

We need to do something radically different. A few ideas...?

Beat someone who isn't west Brom. -
THe first two pages on this thread are hilarious. A reminder of better days on this forum. Whatever happened to franks cousin? Notice he hasn't posted in nearly 3 years. I know he had a few issues he was dealing with, maybe its a self imposed ban after one too many drunken tirades.

Load of nonsense. That would mean for a claimed 32,000 sell out there would be 5,400 empty seats, which is roughly the capacity of the chapel or Northam. I'm sure there are a few season ticket holders who miss every week but not an entire stand full.

A Soviet spy, an IRA supporter and a racist walk into a bar. Barman says "evening Jeremy, the usual?"

Can you buy an adults ticket on a child's membership?

Was it you who used to play women's football? I think it was when you lived in a different country, can't remember which one. I'm sure you mentioned it once or twice though.

St Mary's Football Group – 2016/17 financial results
Turkish replied to Delmary's topic in The Saints
Well if you read the link to the document I attached above it's been agreed that it does. All central fund money to go directly to Macquarie from the premier league for 2017/18 & 2018/19. The only way we will be able to cover the wage bill is by player sales, no wonder they wanted the delay the van Dijk deal until after the take over went through, we need the money to pay try bills. Source before you ask - Cedric. http://readsouthampton.com/2018/03/23/cedric-reveals-he-was-negotiating-southampton-exit/ Very worrying times. -
St Mary's Football Group – 2016/17 financial results

Have a look at the attachment on the charge from 27/9/17. Page 31 appears to say we have agreed to give all premier league money directly to Macquarie bank for the next two years. Looks like Gao took out a loan to buy us which is being paid back by premier league money. I'm no finance expert so please tell me this isn't the case. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00053301/filing-history -

What Is The Most Amazing Place In The World That You Have Been Too
Turkish replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
I agree, love it there, we went last year and are off back again in May. I couldn't name one place, lots of places for different reasons. I did a Safari in Tanzania a few years back where we did a sun rise hot air balloon rise over the Serengeti which was simply incredible. Few over a few feet over hippos, elephant, lions, Rhino, then the highlight was seeing a leopard running though trees with a cub in it's month, must only have been 10 foot above it. As part of the safari saw all the big 5, the highlight was when we watched a Cheetah stalk a gazelle (and miss!) Was an incredible experience. Personally I have a love for Italy, Venice, Rome, The Amalfi Coast, Sardinia, Bologna, Florence are all brilliant places. Cuba and Mauritius was great for beaches, the Red Sea for Snorkelling and diving. Love the Greek Islands. Even found Morrocco fascinating, the Atlas Mountains, Marrakesh etc. -
Correct, I misread it at first. That's not great, but fair to reward those who went to previous rounds.
-
Fair play to them, no easy way of doing it but probably the fairest way by rewarding those who made the effort to go to previous rounds. A lot fairer than last year. Doesn't look like I will qualify via the club so will have to try another route.

We've just got to our first FA cup semi final in 15 years and still you bleat on having a go at the club for anything you can. I really don't think this is the club for you pal. Find a new hobby and additional source of income.
-
People being advised to avoid the m62 pal, it'll probably be shut anyway. I've just driven back from Leeds to harrogate, no idea how i got back unscathed. Couldn't get up a hill, so turned round, nearly slid into two parked cars at different times, I'm really not sure how i didn't crash.

How far back can you trace your Southampton lineage?
Turkish replied to Winnersaint's topic in The Lounge
In southampton we always called each other good fellas, like you say to somebody you're gonna like this guy yes alright he's a good fella, he one of us. We were good fellas, wise guys. Jimmy could never be made up because he had Lancashire blood, it didn't even matter that his mother was from Shirley. To be a member of the crew you got be 100% southampton so they can trace all your relatives. It'd the highest honour you can give it means you belong to the family or crew. It means nobody can **** with you and it madams you can **** around with anyone as long as they aren't a member. Its a licence to steal a licence to do anything. As far as Jimmy was concerned when Tommy was made up it was like we were all made we would now have own of our own as a member. -
Behave. He was excellent for us when he first joined. Then he got injured, missed a month or so meanwhile Puel started to set the team up more defensively after Van dijks injury meaning we had one of the worst centre back pairings in the division His game isn’t suited to Pellegrinos sideways and backwards football or balls pumped into the area but given a run in the team and a chance to take advantage of his intellegent movement he will make a difference I have a friend who is a Napoli fan who says he was at his best as a wide striker in a front 3 so perhaps he could play up front with Austin/Carillo or Boufal but he can also play up front on his own. Another of The problem we’ve had is Pellegrino didn’t build a team around our best players, he tried to shoe horn them into his own, negative way of playing and as a result you’d struggle to name more than one or two players who have played to their potential this season.

With every reason to be. Yet again the great man has delivered.

What "first Saints manager to..." does Hughes have?
Turkish replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
first club to have a Director of football and manager with the first name Leslie (Hughes real name is Leslie) -
As we all know we plan out managerial appointments before they happen and We have been tracking Mark Hughes for years. He was a manager we have always admired and always been on our radar as someone who fits the model of manager we want to bring to the club. On Reeds secret list of managers which is constantly updated Hughes name was always top of the list. The fact he's unemployed at the moment is just a coincidence.

Cometh the hour cometh the man, step forward Mr Reed your time has arrived #giveittoles
-
He must therefore also be responsible for the success that went before it using the same logic. Personally I think we should sack Pellegrino and Reed take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season. He is a proven leader, well respected in the game, tactically astute and crucially knows the players inside and out. I know some people will point to his record at Charlton but they were a club in absolute turmoil not even Guardiola could have saved them. The situation is much less dire than that here. With Reed organising the coaching and tactics and our world renowned sports motivational speaker Ralph ever willing to give the lads a rallying call I'm certain they could inspire us to get the wins needed and shut the anti Reed brigade up once and for all.
-
Why is Reed to blame? When things were going well people said it wasn’t due to him, it was all other people responsible for our success, so now things are going wrong why isn’t the same reasoning being applied?
-
I don't think its deliberate but it's unbelievable arrogance. Reed clearly thinks he has the Golden touch. Find them, sell them, find as good and go again. Same goes for managers. To me the signings of the summer 2016 said as much. Sold off 3 key experienced players and replaced them with untested young players who they assumed would step up. None of them have worked out for different reasons. Then factor in a manager so out of his depth it's like throwing a baby into the deep end we've gone from one of the best central defensive partnerships to one of the worst due to the shamboic transfer activity in those areas, a goal keeper who seems to get worse every time he plays and has now been kept out Crystal Palace's former reserve keeper and a record signing who looks like a rich mans Paul moody it's no wonder we are in the sh*t. The level of incompetence really is quite astonishing.
-
Strachan hasn’t managed in the Premier League since he left us! It’s a ridiculous suggestion. We are going down with Pellegrino, sack him and offer someone like ancelotti a big money deal until the end of the season with a huge bonus for keeping us up. They have nothing to lose, if we do down the can say if was too late to save us, if they keep us up then they get a few quid. The cost of relegation to the club would far outweigh the payment we’d give some to keep us up. It’s a non brainier but our pathetic board will still be dithering about what to do.
