  1. I think he would be a great addition to the squad, since his "problems" he has knuckled down worked hard and not been in trouble since (I think) He is still in my opinion one of the best midfielders at timing runs into the box
  2. Ali must've started around the 13 stone mark and ended around the 15/16 mark, I think Henry Cooper never went above 14 stone in the heavy weight division. Foreman would've been bigger especially at the end of his second stint as champ!! A classic example is Evander Holyfield who was a natural Cruiserweight but fought and won the heavyweight title
  3. If they dress up in the "It's a Knockout" costumes, they may as well come out to the "It's a Knockout" theme with Stuart Hall laughing and quoting random Shakesphere etc
  4. I think it is where Ken Monkou is from?!?
  5. The biggest high of the season for me was a false dawn away at Brentford when someone said that Brighton had scored against Huddersfield, the shear delight on everyones face and the massive celebration was awesome - granted it was two days early BUT it was a high Bournemouth away broke there challenge, Brighton away broke Huddersfield both excellent game to be at Low was the news about Marcus

    league 1

Filling our boots at Bristol Rovers Reports of teams scoring against Huddersfield (when in fact they had scored!!!) Yeovil in the sunshine Leyton Orient
  7. I think the Brighton winner rumour came from a badly worded text message sent to my mate which said something like the score is Brighton 2-3 which at a glance looked like Brighton had scored and then everyone went mental (but it was great for those 30 secs!!!)
  8. That sounds like the club subconsciously telling fans to buy products and go in the home end on Saturday, if you look closely at the text it also says put on a **** van Dyke accent!
  9. This is my last post but ticket is yours, my email is keironhatcher@yahoo.co.uk, we are leaving Eastleigh at 9ish but you can pick it up in Brighton
  10. I have a last minute spare ticket if anyone still needs one??
  11. I have a spare ticket if anyone still needs one??
  12. If there weren't then Bet365 as mugs for giving odds of 4/1 Brighton win in the second half
  13. Leon Best, you get put on the post because you can't defend at corners, if you can't stop an easy shot going past you on the post, sit off the ****ing pitch
  14. Have you ever put dubbin on your shinpads?!
  15. I do realise that is 2011 but the original point was that Lallana is better than Connolly ever was, and I was pointing out that he played in the World Cup which is a pretty big achievement for a player albeit 9 years ago. He also scored a ridiculous amount of goals for Wimbledon in the Championship and has played for a few teams in the Prem as well, which I am sure Lallana will do for us in the future The point is that he is never going to be 100% and hasn't been since he joined if he was he would be still playing at a higher level than League 1. Watch the goals from Walsall away last year and Norwich at home and see how well he links up play. This year he hasn't played as well as he can but when he played in the season every player was **** due to poor management, last year I think he played a part in 23 games and we won 15 which is pretty impressive. He is a lot better player than you see but everyone has opinions on players, I don't really rate Gobern and think this is his level, but thought that Tefler did a good job!!
  16. Not convinced of that, Lallana is a great player but Connolly was a goal machine in the early 00s, albeit mostly in the Championship!!! Plus he was selected in the Eire World Cup squad in 2002 I think he played 10 mins but that is more than Theo got in 2006!! I will change it from "Best Player" in the squad to "Best Footballing Brain" his movement is superb and his vision is superior to everyone else in the squad, other players are more skillful but he is the best link player we have
  17. You didn't go to Walsall away last year did you? He was the best player on the park and has been in most of the games he has played in, if he wasn't injured, before we signed him he would be playing at a much higher level, lower prem team probably. If he got 100% fit tomorrow he would be the best player in the squad by far
  18. Our best player did play that day!! We should've been 4-0 up but had a goal disallowed for B Rabbit molesting the keeper and a nailed on penalty not given!!

  20. Both 5 or 6/10 keepers, both make saves, both make mistakes, both are good for this league, one will need to be replaced as we move up the leagues
  21. I think he mentions the Walace brothers as a unit and Shearer because he is the most prolific of that era of the youth development, also mentions the two most recent players as well, Walcott and Bale! I think he comes across as very classy in the article, a good man to have on side for loans especially next year if promoted (which he thinks we will!!!)
  22. Same here, awesome series!!
  23. Man U starting -2 at 3/1 is a good shout depending on the team but Lambert (13/5) and Guly (3/1) to score anytime seem good bets
  24. I think Best was from Notts County and Blackstock was from Oxford. I can't think of the last really good youth player to be born in the Southampton area. Bale was from Cardiff, Baird from Ireland, Walcott from Newbury, OXO is from Portsmouth and Lallana from Bournemouth. I suppose you could count Surman but he is not in the class of the others in the list!
  25. There have been over 10,000 seats empty at most of our home games this year, so Matt deserves 10 seats I reckon! If 10 people who haven't been to a game this year miss out tough sh*t. No one is bigger than the club and at the moment NC holds the power and is doing a good job as we "should" be promoted this year and have the core of a Championship squad. We shouldn't forget Matt's ability either he was a great player and IMO second only to Cantona in the best player of the early years of the Premiership. Maybe NC is so intense in his focus he doesn't worry about the club history and is determined to write his own, I'm not saying this is a good thing but that is the way he works
