What worries me is that we have got through 6 managers in such a short space of time. Stability is the name of the game and we seem to be making the same mistake again.

I have recently returned from a great holiday in South Africa. As others have previously pointed out "Terry Paine MBE - one of the 1966 World Cup winners" is a major soccer pundit on South African TV. I had to lol last week when he was asked to comment on the score Preston 1 - 0 Pompey. His opinion was that Pompey are having to sell so many players that fans could be asked to play if they bring their boots. He thinks that Pompey are likely to drop right through to League 1. His accent has not changed and apart from some grey hair he has not aged. it is great to know that one of our all time greats is spreading the anti Pompey gospel throughout the African continent.

As others have pointed out, this is one of the flaws in the cunning plans of both AA and Griffen. £3 million is much closer to the net realisable figure once agent fees, sweeteners for players to leave & continued payment of wages for players who have been transferred have all been taken into account. What will happen if they do not get £30 million from transfers and the world's "gratest" fans ™ fail to turn up to watch lower league football in their hordes??

And that £125,000 could well be spent on an extra player's salery ... the player who goes on to win us promotion. A bit of extra dosh for the club is fine by me. Haven't all you moaners got something better to do with your time??? The World Cup starts next week. I am sure that will give you enough moaning ammunition until the pre season friendlies start. Between now and the start of the World Cup you could spend some valuable time watching grass grow..... mind you it would probably grow in a wrong direction or in the wrong colour for you lot!!

At the m-in-law's yesterday, I saw her copy of the Sunday Torygraph - in particular their guide to the World cup. They went through all of the teams and tried to compare them with English clubs eg England are Tottenham. "They think they are a big team but they have not won the big prize since the mid - 60s." France are Arsenal, Germany Man U. USA are Man City, Mexico, Bolton, Uruguay , Burnley. Most countries are compared to P League teams but a few lower league teams are included - eg South Africa are Accrington Stanley because everyone (?) loves them but there is no escaping that thay are a third class outfit. Greece are Reading, Serbia are Millwall , Paraguay are Preston. Apparently, South Korea are Southampton - "a perfectly nice club with decent fans, but to be honest their neighbours are far more interesting." So , come on South Korea !!!
