  1. Massive signing for Oxford. Surprised by that.
  2. lol @ brighton Not a bad replacement for Pilks though.
  3. Unfortunately the entire link was made up by a WUM with nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon. Would have liked him here
  4. As far fetched as it sounds, the rumour is that they've bid for Shane Long. Doubt they have a chance.
  5. Sorry, my mistake. We haven't been successful at all in the last 2 years.
  6. TBF you will never get a full acadamy squad that makes it. There are plenty of players that Barcelona have tossed to one side, same can be said for Arsenal. Sometimes they come back to haunt you, but alot of the time they drift away down the leagues. I'd say that our success rate compared to other clubs is very high.
  7. Unfortunately it's the price of success. You can't have a successful self sustained club giving it's supporterss bargains. Ask man city fans, Chelsea fans etc. The upgrades to the stadium and the playing staff need to be subsidised by increased revenue. You'd be a silly business person if you didn't plan to cover the costs, you'd end up running at a massive loss that just kept increasing. We have great facilities that cost a fair bit to maintain too.
  8. I think the key word is if, we all know in our heart of hearts that he will miss fair chunks of the season with niggly injuries. He has done in his entire career and I can't see that changing, he's just prone to injuries and it's a real shame.
  9. I think a sub forum which is only open during the transfer windows would be a great idea. Alot of the other main club forums do this, and it tidy's up the main board tbf.
  10. Can't really say, haven't seen much of him at all so I'm not sure what sort of player he is. I think he can also play wide from his spells on loan. Doubt he'll get much of a chance here tbh.
  11. He'd be a decent squad player though, quite like him as a player tbh.
  12. Yep, he's ours. signed a 2 1/2 year deal in Jan, fee around 1m euros apparently. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9367993.stm
  13. I do know where you guys are coming from, and I'd also feel a bit ****ed off. But this is one of the most exciting periods in our history, and I'm sure you'll be back to watch us next season even for the odd 1 or 2 games. We were owned by ''fans'' of the club before and look where that put us. At the end of the day I prefer being run as a business as such, rather than having people on the board running it from their hearts.
  14. is it online anywhere DD?
  15. Just seems such a bizarre thing to do, as a poster with no history of WUM posts, and it's not even an obvious rumour to make up.
  16. really odd thing to make up, obviously he'd heard it but maybe Solent were barking up the wrong tree and retracted the story quickly.
  17. We should be aiming for Phil Jones or Chris Smalling IMO.
  18. Swansea fans who have watched him for the last 5/6 years totally disagree with you.
  19. Swansea fans don't think it'll happen:
  20. Doubt he's got much chance of playing in the premiership now, but there's nothing wrong with him at this level.
  21. Why aren't you sure? http://forum.planetswans.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=96267&hilit=gary+monk swansea fans really rate him
  22. great signing...will be good to have him back. Has been a rock for Swansea in recent years
  23. They will all be used in some way or another, just as they were last year. I expect we'll go 4-5-1 in some games, 4-4-2 in others etc
  24. Pretty much, the outcome of our entire season will be decided on the outcome of the first couple of games. Like it was last year, and the year before.
  25. We did have a brilliant defence last year tbf, and it wasn't just the CB's - it's the whole team. I'd like to see a pacey CB signed to partner fonte in an Ideal world, but I'd be more nervous if I was a P'boro fan going into the championship with the same defence.
