It seems beyond the comprehension of modern politicians that the only way to control inflation is to make people poorer. They seem to think that they can wish it away, they’re drunk on the success of printing money during the banking crisis & avoiding a disastrous recession. But there’s a huge difference between printing money to give to financial institutions & what was basically helicopter money. They seem to think they can ease us out of this, with a little bit of targeted pain here, and a little bit of targeted pain there. But unfortunately people won’t stop spending voluntary & won’t accept wage constraints voluntarily (not that I blame them). The only way to stop people spending is to take money out of the economy & the only way to control wages is to make them feel insecure in their jobs (and that’s best case scenario, the other way is for them to lose their jobs).

Waiting till July 8th for the other tv fixtures is a fucking piss take. I understand during the season because the broadcasters will want to see how the season plays out, but fuck me, surely the league could have given them the fixtures yesterday & announced Aug TV games at the same time today. Do they need over 2 weeks to study which fixtures would make good viewing. I could fucking do that in 10 mins.

Beautiful country, well it was 40 years ago when I visited. Incredibly safe & crime free where we stayed despite its neighbours wanting to obliterate it. Also worked for an Israeli guy who owned a hotel / night club in ‘87/‘88. Fuck me, he had some dodgy associates & his head of security was the hardest bastard I ever met in my life. Nobody fucked around with him. Nice people though, very loyal to people who worked hard & were straight with them. I wonder if modern woke pony has infested their society. Got the Aussies & Canadians, so probably has. Thinking of taking the snap dragon there one of these days.
