I love The Who, but I am a bit uncomfortable regarding Townsends admission that he paid for child porn sites "purely to see what was there". He was cautioned by police in 2003 and placed on the sex offenders register for five years and admitted using his credit card to view images on a child porn website.

My 12 year old has just got a Blackberry curve 8520 and I'm having a problem with the WI FI As he does not have a lot of minutes for internet under his plan, he wants to be able to connect to the home network when at home. I have set the WF FI up and it all works ok. The problem is that the phone automatically defaults to gprs everytime and only connects to the WI FI if I disconnect all his phone services. My daughter has a phone which defaults to WI Fi, if available, but I cant for the life of me see where that's an option on the Blackberry. I have googled it, but that's confussed me even more, with some articles saying that it's impossible to do. The phone shows the home network on the screen, shows WI FI symbol, but always connects to gprs. Any help would be greatly appricated.

There's obviously a pile of crap out there and always has been. Freddie and the Dreamers anyone......... But the most over rated, and therefore in my eyes the worst "serious" band of all time has to be Queen. I just dont get the hero like status they seem to endure. Slade were 100 times better,so even in their "peak" they were shiete. As for bohemian rhapsody, dont even get me started, the most pretentious load of ******** ever written and people study it like it's some sort of great work of art. Dont like U2, but can see why people do. Worst artists; Jackson-Cant understand how he's got away with it. Should have been locked up years ago, in the Glitter file in my opinion. Kylie-Nice arse, but no talent. Sting (last 10 years) A complete and utter plum..........

If he was with Luton Towns academy I would try and get in contact with Matty Holmes, who runs football out of Ferndown Leisure Centre and is something to do with Bournemouth's acdemy as well. Failing that, Tony Funnel runs the nippers for Poole Bourough but it's at Carter school, which is quite a way from there. My nipper plays for one of Wimborne sides and they're pretty decent, but I dont know what the younger age groups are like.Poole Town also have a lot of youth sides, but I'm not sure how conected they are to the club. If I was you I would ring Ferndown Leisure Centre and try and get a number for Matty Holmes. Good luck with the move, you've chosen a nice area move to.

The Band..........

It is his job to express an opinion, but not the same thing over and over and over again. On Saturday the two of them were like those 2 blokes in the muppets, waffling on and agreeing with each other. They cant even get simple facts right, kept banging on about Lambert missing the Cardiff game. Same with Brighton game, kept banging on about Morgan Schneiderlin not being in the squad. It took a listener to text in to tell them he was suspended.Whilst Sky and even the BBC have moved on, with people like Claridge, Souness and even Gary Neville giving real insights into the game,Solent is moving more and more towrads Partridge teritory every year. It's getting like Partridge commentating with Ron Manager as the co commentater.

Cameron seeks independence referendum clarity for Scotland
Lord Duckhunter replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Lounge
The last thing that the SNP want is an in/out vote, as they'll lose it.If the Scots thought that a vote for the SNP would automatically lead to independence, they would be nowhere near power. The Scots could vote for Salmon, safe in the knowledge that it'll never happen, so for the SNP to claim a mandate on this is just false. There are loads of questions that need answering. What happens to the currency-Are they going to join the Euro, have their own, or keep the £. Surely keeping the £ is down to the rest of the UK to decide, not them.If they want to join the Euro will the Scots accept the tough new rules written by The French and Germans. Will Salmon not be swapping an English lead UK Monetary policy for a Franco German led EU one? What happens to the pension provisions of the public sector workers in Scotland. Does the UK pick up the liabilities of pensions earnt whilst working as part of the UK, or does the new state honour these? What happens to Scottish members of the armed forces. Are they going to have their own forces, or continue in the UK's. If they want to remain part of our's then surely it's for the UK to decide whether Scots should serve in OUR forces, and how much are they going to contribute towards the cost? What about our AAA crdit rating, I presume Scotland would have to borrow money at the rate set by the markets and could not borrow it at our cheap rate. How much are the Scots going to pay the UK for bailing out their banks? RBS & HBOS were bailed out by the UK, therefore any tax revenues collected from them should be distributed back to the tax payers of the UK as well as Scotland. How much will Scotland contribute to NATO and the EU? Are they still going to have the Queen as head of their state? If so, how much are they going to contribute towards the civil lists and the people who work for her? Personally, my view is that a federal UK is the best way forward. -
Which politicans were critised in the report into RBS? Who set up the FSA, instead of the BoE policing the banks? Who knighted Sir Fred Goodwin? Was it the Americans?

I've nothing against Dave and I'm well aware of his part in the history of our club. I just dont think he's a very good expert on the radio. It's nothing to do with who people play for or how much they love the club, one of the best about is Steve Claridge IMO, and he's a Skate. What gets on my wick is him banging on and on about width and the shape, and then the other bloke parroting his words and seemingly encouraging him to constantly repeat them. They also annoy me when they waffle on over and over about players being left out, it was Forte and Holmes today, the other day it was Barnard. I manage to get to most matches, so dont have to liten to them that much, but if I had to listen every week, I think I'd go mental...........

Merrington is like my Dad, much as I love him, I wish he'd shut the f up sometimes when watching football. My Dad used to keep going on and on and on about sides passing sideways. When they corssed it in and scored or played it long and scored, he'd then start going on and on "there you go, Get it forward and they score" . Merrington keeps going on and on about width, now Adkins has changed it, he's going on and on and on about how much better it is. I thought Ray Wilkins was the most annoying co commentor, but Dave's giving him a run for his money today. All about opinions though.

It really is time to bring back the death penalty
Lord Duckhunter replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
I'm sure my legal team would advise me to plead guilty to Manslaughter or second degree murder. If there is a death penalty I believe there should be degree's of murder as in the US. I would then go to court for a sentancing hearing only, saving the state money and Mrs Duck's family the pain of a protracted court case. -
It really is time to bring back the death penalty
Lord Duckhunter replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
But this very rarely happens and that's the problem. Nutters like Huntly will never be let out, but most murderers are out after incredibly short sentances compared to the crime they've committed. If I beat Mrs Duck to death because she burnt my dinner, I bet I'd be out and about in between 10-15 years, how can that be right? Hanging was abolished on the understanding that murder would carry a life sentance. -
It really is time to bring back the death penalty
Lord Duckhunter replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
When the death penalty was abolished the British people were told that murder would carry a life sentance. The establishment have gone back on their word and that is why their is so much resentment from the British people. Murderers out in 10-15 years, it's a disgrace. We are supposed to be a civilised country, hense the lack of a death penalty, yet how are we civilised when we let murderers out so early. Life should mean life, end of. That was the trade off promised to the British people in return for the abolishment of hanging. Of course the death penalty doesn't deter crime. But what it does do is two fold. One; it gets rid of scum bags like Huntly and two; it can be used as a trade off. Take the Lawernce case,. I'm sure Dobson or Norris would give up the other racist thugs if it meant a lesser sentance. ie, Death penalty or give the other 3 up and serve life. It also helps with a plea, plea guilty and serve life, plead innocent ,get found guilty and you'll swing....... -
Lets look at her track record. She called George Osborne and David Cameron 2 posh "white" boys Had Nick Clegg come on Sky news following Chuka Umuna and said "I agree with the posh black boy" lefties everywhere would go into meltdown. She also made comments about West Indian parents wanting what's right for their children. Her campaigning is not about being an "active supporter of treating all equal", it is about advancing the cause of black people, a completely different thing.
-
Do you really think that if Boris had said "black people" and used the same words he'd still be Mayor of London? Of course he wouldn't, and leading the call for him to go and first out of the stalls and into the TV studios shouting from the rooftops would be Abbott.

Unfortunately that is how it is in most work places at present. I once had to speak in front of 25 staff and started with a joke about one of them. He didn't mind at all and laughed, but another member of staff complained , and I was hauled in front of the bosses. Had it been perceived as a racist incident(it wasn't a remark about race) there's no doubt I'd have been sacked, even if the guy the joke was aimed at didn't mind. It's why Suarez can not claim the defence that he didn't mean anything racist by his remark but he's still committed a racial incident. People like Abbott follow the Macpherson Report like it's some sort of holy scripture, especially when attacking the police. Therefore if we judge her comments by the wording of that report, it was a racist incident because people took offense. As someone posted earlier "hoist by one's own petard" springs to mind.

I cant believe there's any debate over this. There's obviously a problem between him and Adkin's and I know who I'd back every day of the week. If Adkin's wants to freeze him out, then that's fine by me. We are hardly talking about a Matt Le Tiss/Ian Branfoot situation here. The guy "appears" to not want to play for the club, is not paticulary good anyway, so if Adkin's wants to freeze him out, what's the problem? He's been out on loan at Millwall, Blackpool and Qpr, if he was a good as a few posters seem to think, then why is he still here? The occasional good game and a couple of flashes of good play, are not enough to convince me that Adkin's is wrong over this.

He has 4 problems in my opinion. Firstly; He ran against his brother and is seen as having “knifed him in the back”. Whether true or not that perception resonates with a lot of the public. That is why the Cameron putdown of “it’s not like we’re Brothers” the other day at PMQ played so well. The image of him stitching his brother up, will take a long time and a lot of good work to remove from the public’s mind. Secondly; On a mayor issue, that the Labour party should be supporting, he seems hamstrung. because he owes his job to the unions, he doesn’t want to be seen as a puppet to them. Therefore he half heartedly sits on the fence over pension reforms and union action over cuts. He comes across as weak and indecisive over strikes and protests against cuts. Thirdly; Due to Alan Johnsons unfortunate situation he has had to put Balls as shadow chancellor. Balls is a pretty good politician, taking the fight to the Tories, but he reminds people of the past. He was named and shamed in the RBS bailout report, which closes down an avenue to attack the Tory's over anything to do with banks. He is also a reminder of Brown and his right hand man when Brown made cock up after cock up. He is too wedded to the past economically, but too powerful for Milliband to over look a second time in the role. A better and braver thing would have been for Milliband to make his wife Shadow Chancellor, he could hardly resign over that, and would not be briefing against her ( as I’m sure he would of ,had Milliband given the job to someone else). Balls is a economic man through and through. To over look him a second time was impossible for Milliband to do, given his weakness amongst his own MP's. Fourthly; He comes across poorly. I think Cable and Boris, do as well. But they come across poorly in a way the public seem to like, whereas Milliband comes across as a gimp. Not nice, properly not how we should judge politicians, but a fact of political life nowadays.

This is spot on. 100% correct. The Macpherson Report rewrote the rules on racism and racist incidents and lefties like Abbott swear by it when it comes to the Met police. It defines a racist incident as one where someone takes offence, even if none was intended. Therefore, Abbot is guilty and Miliiband needs to stop dithering and act. The problem is the Unions, who he owes his job to, and the leftie membership wont have it, and he's not strong enough to act alone.
-
Abbott has form on this; On sending her kid to a private school she said 'West Indian mums will go to the wall for their children.'and said that white people would 'never understand' the Afro-Caribbean culture of parents wanting to do the best for their children. She should be sacked from Millibands team, had John Redwood uttered the same comments about "black people" he would have gone by now. It is racist. The The Macpherson report says the definition of a racist incident will now encompass" any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person". As plenty of people have taken offense over her comments it is clearly a racist incident. How can she remain in her job?

What a bunch of plums, particulary the bloke on the push bike. People must lead pretty boring lives if one of the highlights of their year is watching people riding horses down the road. .........

I think it's great that the locals went out of their way to give Lambert and his family a traditional Scouse Xmas.

The limits are fine, a zero limit would not make it any more stright forward as there would be a lot of challanges around food ect. There would be more and more legal challanges with people claiming they didn't know X or Y had alcohol in it. At the moment the limit is set at a level where there is no defence, to be over the limit you must know you're over or on the border line. The issue is the enforcement of the present laws. I've never understood the "Xmas clampdown", there should be a clampdown all year long. Drive past a pub and the car park is pretty full, are all the drivers on soft drinks or keeping to the limit? I doubt it. The police should set up road blocks regulary from routes away from popular pubs. They should do so in the morning as well. I get the impression that the police turn a blind eye occasionally, not wanting to check on certain occasions. The other thing that needs stronger action is the law around accidents and deaths through drink driving. The thought of running someone over and killing them, stops me from drink driving, how could you live with yourself or enjoy Xmas knowing someone is not with their family because I ran them over/crashed into them on the way home from the pub, makes me get taxis. Surely a 15 year sentance for casuing death by drink driving will persuade others as well. I speak as someone who loves a drink and thinks pubs are one of the greatest inventions man has ever made, so I'm hardly a member of the Temperance movement .

My mates a Huddersfield supporter, he reckons Rhodes is going nowhere because the board are scared Clarke will walk into another job if he does. I think the guy from Cov looks like a good bet, they're in a terrible financial situation. Still wont address our lack of pace though. I've no doubt we've got targets and if they're a sensible price and available we'll get onboard. I've got a feeling it'll be a unknown or someone from abroad. I doubt very much that NC will get into a bidding war over some of the "names" being branded about.

Saints Vs Pompey Match & Reactions Thread
Lord Duckhunter replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
I was dissapointed with harding conceding the corner in the first place as I'm sure that he could have knocked it for a throw instead. That said, Halford could have thrown it in long and they scored from that. I didn't think Guly's defending is as bad as people are making out. Yes someone like Franny may have put his head in there, took one for the team and cleared it. Guly isn't that sort of player, and neither is Adam, Morgan, De ridder or David Connolly. If Guly let us down it was not finishing the chance when we were 1-0 up, that's what he's in the team for, not throwing his head into defensive situations. Just did not want to lose, especially after the last 2 results against them.Could not have contemplated another defeat to them. Would have taken a point before the start, so can't complain too much. Come the return, I think we'll knock 3 or 4 past them at our place. Saw my Skate mate last night, could say to him "top of the league", "17 points clear of them", and all he could say was he was happy with a draw.
