It is clearly being inferred on this and a number of other threads by certain individuals - mostly without any realistic alternative suggestions of how, in their view, the club should be showing "ambition".
It's a sign of realism. Whether you like it or not that is the model and Saints do it very well. It isn't going to change so you may as well get used to it rather than moaning about it.
Adam Leitch suggesting so on Twitter, "Another 3 new contract offers as #saintsfc show more ambition.Extended deals for Tadic&Cedric.Pay rise for Fonte so he is a top earner again"
You couldn't blame him, his stock is never going to be higher and as others have said its would be a huge final payday. Hopefully not true but if it is he will want to go imo.
Nothing to do with ambition, it's reality...players want to move to bigger clubs. You either buy into the model or you are going to be disappointed and as another poster said, may as well find something else to do. This isn't Football Manager.
Are you really comparing Benfica with Saints? Fine, you dont rate the guy I get it. Interesting posting style, on this and other threads potential to be a forum "character".
It's funny that Stoke agree fees but the players wait until the last minute desperately hoping that someone else comes in so they don't have to live near Stoke. Can't blame them tbh
Thing is though is that for many the Sky era is football's golden age. All relative I guess, nostalgia tends to skew our judgement sometimes of what things were really like.
You dont get more people standing as the area is the equivalent of one seat. The extra income is a myth otherwise we would practically give away tickets for games we dont sell out. Im not against safe standing at all however I cant see the club making a decision which might well improve the atmosphere but at the expense of income and actually which would generate a cost.
