Liverpool 4 - Saints 0 Post match Reaction
Dark Munster replied to davefizzy14's topic in The Saints
My thoughts. Both were penalties, which is why I wasn't pissed off with the Ings one. I was amazed VAR didn't give one for Long's rugby tackle on the goal line. It evened itself out. Kevin Friend Of Liverpool was a joke with those multiple wrong decisions, all discussed here. This is the first time (and probably last) that I felt proud of the team after a 4-0 defeat. Liverpool deserved to win but the score line flattered them. Our crime was naivety in committing too many forward at times, leaving us vulnerable to the lethal Liverpool counter attack. -
Can't really blame them for being supremely confident.

The news and information part didn't last long!

Solid if unspectacular is a massive step up from our slapstick defensive performances up to that 0-9. Also why would he sulk if he's here for a few more months? He knows he'll be off in the summer. He's crap as a LB, but he's been performing well recently in his correct position, and certainly been a part of our amazing up turn. This is a penny wise - pound foolish move by the club. Again. -
Free hit for us. Yes, beating Spurs is the priority. Liverpool have won the league, they don't care about goal difference, so would be more than happy with an effortless 1-0 win and no injuries. I reckon 2-0 to them, with them going 1 up by midway and holding out comfortably. Late on as we try to get the equaliser they'll hit us on the break for the second.

Except that's exactly what they did this time last year. -
He's been leaving for the past 4 seasons. Do keep up!
-
Exactly. Not to mention weakening us in a potential cup run.

If this is true it's deja vu all over again. The club did this a year ago (and got away with it). Hey, if I'm successful at Russian roulette once, why not do it again? -
Liverpool kids (and no Klopp) vs. Minnows. At Anfield. Yawn.
-
And if you have Germans at work don't mention the war. I did once, but I think I got away with it.

Scumbags.

While I don't doubt he sees us as a stepping stone, maybe the way the club backed him 100% after that 0-9 has bought us a bit more time with him. Perhaps he'll see out his contract, or even agree to a one year extension (with a get out clause if a giant club comes after him).

Tranmere 3-0 down at home. That's a Tranmere score line that brings back bad memories.

Considering their goal shouldn't have stood, Ings chance cleared off the line, the handball penalty not awarded to us, and the other chances we had, I feel Spurs are fortunate to still be in the competition. -

Bullshit -
The 27-year-old has been a key player in the Southampton side since arriving from Borussia Mönchengladbach and his performances have caught the eye of Leicester, who The Sun report have made a £15million bid for the Dane.

The start of our demise was getting rid of Pele, Mane and VW without adequate replacements, and the nail in the coffin was sacking Puel. The start (hopefully) of the resurrection was appointing Ralph and getting rid of the clowns. -
I'm glad we're not West Ham.

Dalek has been exterminated apparently, so no more reminders that for the last 15 seasons he'd predicted us finishing 17th and the club would be happy with that. Bearsy was always good for a laugh. Long lost in the woods it seems.

1st half hour we were even more magnificent. -
Yes, Wee Ross, Dr. Honeydew and Bunsen have thankfully left, but how about the incompetent scouts who recommended the likes of Elyuseless, Hoedt, etc.?
-
Having scouts who don't recommend shite players would help too.
