  1. I wonder how they feel about us losing to BC twice?
  2. And then we get docked 3 points for fielding an ineligible player.
  3. Not quite. If West Ham finish in the top 2 Saints could still get promoted through the playoffs.
  4. Then WHam would have to win 4-0, or win by at least 3 scoring 5 or better. I would be tempted to take a 2-2 now. (Although I reserve the right to change my mind later ).
  5. The other way around and I'll cry.
  6. Ah, but that doesn't take into account that if they hadn't had the 10 point deduction they would have put up more of a fight on the last day (and wouldn't have given up against Derby once it was clear Bristol were going to win). And if that isn't convincing enough, the combination of the 10 point penalty and us giving Bristol 6 points has ensured their relegation. All of this will be moot soon though, when they get liquidated.
  7. [h=3]PompeyBeej[/h]Jesus he needs to get real. 10pts deducted aside, unless you bang in a few or keep clean sheets you're only as good as the side you play in...he has played a few good matches granted but I hope he gets relegated again elsewhere...pref with our neighbours...from the Championship! Come on Hammers, come on Coventry, hopefully Blackpool, Brighton or someone good in the playoffs can see their dreams shattered! Preferably at the hands of one of our loanessold boys - Hoseclip maybe doing his bit as did Matty Taylor last night..
  8. Including me. Nige took over a team in free fall (under Gormless and Dudd), and averaged 1.23 points per game (comfortable mid-table form). We finished 2 places above Leicester, who finished with a ridiculous record high number of points for a relegated team. And who walked L1 the following year (under Nige!) Anyway, back to Cheats FC bashing.....
  9. June 2, I think. Here's hoping for ....
  10. Wouldn't it be even simpler (with better odds) to just bet on Saints not going up?
  11. Amazing, not one "has he signed yet?"
  12. They still only need to win by 3, as long as they score 3 more than us.
  13. Not quite. We have scored 2 more. If they win 3-0 and we draw 1-1 both teams would have identical goals scored and goal differences. We'd go up by head to head. If we draw they have to win by 3 and also score 3 more than us.
  14. Being in the top 2 all season, and then dropping out on the last day would be a massive psychological blow entering the playoffs. Not good preparation against 3 other teams who are on a high just being there.
  15. Not quite. One point will only be enough as long as West Ham don't do better than a 2 goal win. If we draw they need to win by a 3 goal margin and score 3 more goals than us. 0-0 to us then they need to win 3-0 or better to go up. 1-1 to us and they need to win 4-1 or better to go up, etc.
  16. I'll happily take it.
  17. This. Fat Sam was protecting the one goal lead. Mistake. If they had gone for more I reckon they could easily have won by 2 or more. Leicester were total shite. As it is now, if we draw, WHam have to beat Hull by at least 3.
  18. At Wembley. After extra time. Winning the penalty shoot out 15-14.
  19. To all going on Saturday: Yes, if you could get all your fellow Saints fans to join us in chanting "Sisu Out" that would be fantastic ! I know that many, many Sky Blue fans like Saints -- similar history, great potential and have experienced Ken Deluded and Sisu ! Would you be kind enough to post this request on the Saints wall ? Cheers -- go and do a Norwich and Swansea -- perform well in the Premiership. SISU OUT !!!
  20. A 1-1 draw for us means West Ham have to win their last 2 matches by a margin of 4 goals, and score at least 5 in doing so. Even a pessimist must fancy Saints in that situation. After all, Leicester and Hull have nothing to play for so the pressure will be off and they'll probably put in one of their best performances of the season.
  21. Correct. Makes me feel a bit better than I did yesterday. Of course, if Leicester do a Brighton tomorrow, the roller coaster will dip down again.
  22. ... who goes up? Obviously if West ham don't win their last 2 games, or we get the win against Coventry, this is moot. But, if the Hammers get the 2 wins, and we draw, there is a possibility of both teams having equal points, equal goal difference, and equal goals scored. For example if West Ham win their 2 matches by a 4-0 aggregate margin, and we draw 0-0. According to http://www.sportinglife.com/football/cc_championship/table/ If two or more teams finish level on points the team with the better goal difference will finish higher. If two or more teams have the same points and the same goal difference, the team which has scored the higher number of goals will finish higher. If two or more teams finish level on points, goal difference and goals scored at the end of the season and the championship, a promotion place, play-off place or relegation place is at stake they will then play off to decide who finishes higher. The last line is bollocks. From the official rules (http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/section-3-the-league_2293633_2125717): 9.2 If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored. If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs, then the Clubs concerned shall play off a deciding League Match or Matches under arrangements approved by the Board on a neutral ground. Which means that the Saints will go up (albeit in extraordinary squeaky bum fashion). So if West ham "only" beat Leicester 1-0, they would need at least a 4-0 (or 5-2) win against Hull to overtake us (unless we lose to Coventry, which I don't even want to think about). Fortunately Poyet isn't the manager of Leicester or Hull.
