Not sure how a guy who scored 2 well taken goals just last week can be short of confidence, that doesn't make much sense to me. He was awful yesterday, no point denying that but so was everyone else. If its true about Tadanari Lee being out then Billy, Guly and Connolly have to come in and do a job. They are all capable.
-
From what Adkins said in the pre match interview I doubt he travelled.
-
Dont waste your time, they will both lose.
-
I think the BBC commentary team had it right and that where we were playing after the other games and knowing we were 6 points clear of third we kind of took our eye off the ball and no harm was done with a defeat.

Why has the "Lambert out for the season" thread been closed ?
beatlesaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
So you want to carry on speculating until you finally believe the club or see him run out next Saturday do you ? -
I cannot think of one single player who came out of that performance with any credit today. Everyone was dreadful and I dont think there has been another instance of that for the past 18 months. I just hope Richardson, Connolly, Lambert and Lee, or at least three of them, are back next week. No width, no pace, no control, no defence just plain awful. A big kick up the backside I hope.
-
I sincerely hope today was the kick up the backside that any of the players who thought they were already promoted needed.
-
Unfortunately I have to agree with all of this.

In order - Possibly & Bull****

He's playing today, only missed one game.
-
He has been crap apart from the first couple of games back. I wouldnt hold out much hope for Puncheon doing much for us for the rest of the season.
-
Thats interesting.....and rather comforting :-)
-
This. And thats assuming West Ham and Reading win all their games after today......one of them might, both of them ? Very very unlikely. We can afford to lose 2 games as things stand. I fully expect one of them to be today in all honesty.
-
Yeah...from you. Happy Birthday Markus, and thankyou once again.
-
Dunno but the work shy so and so has posted a pic on twitter of him, Cork and Fox enjoying an ice cream on Bournemouth sea front this afternoon so Staplewood is gonna take ages if he keeps on doing that
-
I dont really understand why so many people are getting overly excited at West Ham winning at the fortress that is Peterbro......thats the Peterbro we still have to go to isn't it ? They are 6 points behind us now, same number of games, play Reading on Saturday both of whom have much harder run ins than us. Relax, nobody seriously thought it would be so easy that we would be 12 points clear of third on Saturday night surely.....
-
I think West Ham will beat Peterbro.......I wouldn't however like to predict what might happen when they play Reading on Saturday. We have breathing space, remember whatever happens 4 wins out of the 7 games will see us up, obviously it would be better they come sooner rather than later but you can bet Reading and West Ham would both give everything to be in our position.
-
We'll see.

Well it was disappointing that the attendance this year was so low. I cant see it being any different and I dont think its a snub to Markus, people just dont do pre-season games in large numbers. The flag was partly a symbol of how high the fans hold Markus and the club wont display the thing.
-
It wont be packed to the rafters. It will be 10,000 tops. I was thinking where it is so early compared to the season start that it might act as a warm up for some visiting Olympic teams rather than club sides.
-
I love the first paragraph especially the bit "....except for the scorelines." Now let me see, isn't that the whole point of a football match, scoring more than the other team ? You can hear the smack of desperation to keep their fans onside from here.
-
I think that describes just about every winger thats ever played professional football.

Saints 2 V 0 Doncaster Post Match Chat!!
beatlesaint replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Sharp was booked for over celebrating the second goal. His crime ? High fiving a 5 year old nipper :-( The rules for celebrating are bloody pathetic. he probably made that little lads day and then gets booked for it......ridiculous. -
Well IF that happens then Reading, in third, will still be 5 points behind with an inferior goal difference.

I thought De Ridder played really well, was surprised and disappointed that NA took him off to be honest. Unlike the others that play right midfield he does actually get to the byeline too which is always a bonus. Would stick with him too, certainly at home.
