General Election 2019 - Post Match Reaction

Amusing watching Tories stumble from scandal to scandal. -
Everton: 0 (Soft Saints roll over for Gomes) Arsenal - 0 (xhaka scores winner to redeem himself) Watford 1 point (scrappy ugly draw) Norwich 1 points (entertaining high scoring draw) Newcastle 3 points (Our counter attacking away form to the rescue again)

After listening to 5live i was expecting the Everton penalty appeal to be some burning injustice. It wasn't it. Accidental defensive handball hasn't generally been treated as penalties this season. So VAR understandably didn't award a penalty. Need to get rid of VAR though. Delays the game and idiots will try and force its use as a subjective inconsitent rereffing tool. I don't agree with the reasoning for the Son red. Looking at the result of the tackle to decide to upgrade the card is wrong imo. I wouldn't have minded it being a red because it was a nasty revenge hack.
-
Ahh so we are sticking by ralph despite poor results but youth coach who got u23 promoted is moved on based on a bad start in the division above.
-
Not sure why we’d want to get rid of him.
-
Players gave it their best shot. The manager needs to work out that there isn't a rule that Saints can't make a sub before the 75 minute.
-
Terrific display from the players. pep and co really made me hate Qatar city even more. Hope they never win the champions league and scummy liverpool beat them to the league. Once again i'm completely bemused at Ralph's refusal to make changes though. We should have had fresh legs on before they scored.

Odd I thought hojberg’s been good out of position. Thought Valery has been standing off more.
-
Finally mane getting a booking for his horrible diving

Eating my hat. Some very good intensity. Jwp lovely gambling on 2nd ball. Still don’t like how much time we are giving them on their left to get balls in. Still expect city to win but at least we are making them work for it and giving them issues on the break.

It’s always fun to see utd lose

Man City V Saints (again) - Build Up

I’ll just check the ht and full time margin of loss then Repeating what failed utterly against a man city half strength side in midweek is crazy imo. Man city fullbacks will have a fun day as Ralph seems to decided once again to have his team cower in the box. -
Rather unfortunate ending with 2 goals in stoppage time, the first a breakaway after saints poured forward at a half chance to equalise. Thought Saints played well with 10 men. You do wonder about slattery. If that's his approach its not a surprise he's been nowhere near the first team.
-
Lovely surging run from ramsay, shame freeman's finish was so lousy. Awful tackling technique from Slattery to earn himself a red.
-
At least obafemi is fit. I was worried by his absence from both games on Tuesday. Hopefully he can score a couple and get in the thoughts of Ralph for Everton game.

U23's got promoted last season didn't they? It was always likely to be a tougher season.

Man City V Saints (again) - Build Up

Let's be honest that would 4-5-1 not 4-2-3-1. I'd still like us to play that rather than cower in our box refusing to mark their fullbacks like Tue. -

Probably far too much to hope that Ralph will bother trying to Mark their full backs this time round rather than letting them play as unmarked wingers -
Get on the phone to Norwich & Wolves and tell them they should have dropped their trousers and let City have their way like we did.

Hung parliament. -
It's hard to look good when the manager instructs his team to sit on the edge of our own box and put no pressure on any of their players.
-
Positives: McCarthy is much better than Gunn, he actually makes saves. Thought danso had something about him too. Hojberg did a ok job as fill in left back but i’d Rather him in midfield. Negative Ralph. Against man city reserves, the conclusion I came away with is that Ralph wanted to lose. That’s the only logic for sitting inside your box, not getting close to opposition etc. embarrassing in a different sort of way from Friday. I think a league one side would have been more ambitious.

Stephens does have a knack of getting decent chances at corners. -

Would like to see at least once tonight us try to mark their fullbacks
