    Claude Puel

I guess so, but maybe the sale of Mane and Wanyama was two too many... Not to forget Forster fast turning sh*te, Fonte become bigheaded following Portugal's win, not to mention no Gabbiadini until January and no VVD after January? Certainly not a Puel fan, but last season is proving slightly better than our current campaign.
  2. just wondering, anyone know how much compo we gave Puel last season? and similarly how much compensation it would cost if we were to get rid of Pellegrino?
  3. I'd play this tbf: McCarthy Cedric VVD Yoshida Bertrand Romeu Lemina Davis Boufal Tadic Gabbiadini Long comes on in second half, keep Redmond away for a while. With the other two subs I'd put JWP and Austin on depending on the circumstances, so those two can come on if we are losing. I'd drop Forster, and whilst McCarthy made a howler last night it was one of those ones which wasn't like he parried it directly to a player or dropped a simple catch, just a mistake which I'm sure he won't do again and try not to be arrogant and just boot it upfield, especially in a Premier League game compared to a U23s game- plus Forster has done a similar howler last season anyway! However despite the line up above, gonna predict a 1-1, Hegazi or one of their tall ar*e defenders to get a goal and we'll reply back with a long range goal from Lemina!
  4. you mean a Boruc. EDIT: literally remembered Forster's ***** up against Palace away last season
  5. How sh*t that was, injury time and we were basically parking the bus at home in those final 5 minutes to a team that had just got promoted. 2 goals yes, but just 1 from open play. Newcastle should have been down to 10, but even then with out experience of the Prem and money spent we should have won this comfortably on paper. Ah Pellegrino need to sort out this crock of sh*te
  6. Bertrand and Forster in for me, and eventually hope Lemina would take Schneiderin's spot. I'd go as far as just putting Mane up front and I like having Davis in our team so, in place of Lambert I guess.
  7. Exactly. The 2013-14 FA Cup could have capped it all of dramatically too the way the media use Leicester's league title in Vardy's rags to riches story. But that Sunderland game is another completely different story then eh

But doesn't this mean Puel was dealt an even worse hand last season? Had no Gabbiadini in first half of season, had no VVD in the second half. Also had no Hoedt or Lemina and we had a GK who was woeful. It makes me wonder, if it was the players who hounded out Puel, then what do they have to say about themselves with regards to results now?!
  9. Yesterday and in a lot of his appearances he actually makes the runs to get behind the last defender but no one ever blo*dy picks him out and yesterday there was a moment where he was cutting a frustrated figure when I think it was Romeu who didn't see him.
  10. Funny because in the warm ups today before kick off, for a lot of the shots they still couldn't score past him and Long even had a shot that went over the nets and into our block
  11. Went to the game today- this is how I see it: Forster had a very good game, saved the pen ofc and made decent saves in the first half. Cedric was poor, crosses were terrible and in general was growing in frustration as the afternoon wore on. Yoshida good finish but had a few hiccups, albeit didn't lead to much, and same can go for VVD who won a lot of headers and made some incredible tackles, and tbh I haven't seen a replay so I can't say much about the penalty. Lemina again absolute quality, on the way back a Stoke fan was telling me how he made an incredible, he says block of the season that us away fans would have struggled to see from our end, but he is again proving himself and putting his name in the shop window. Redmond unfortunately has been terrible, desperately off form and to think he was our Juanmi replacement but is playing consistently baffles me- it is as if Les Reed is forcing MP to play him because if he comes good we can sell him at the English premium. Davis was his usual average best, not spectacular but not crap, and Tadic had his moments. Long isolated and some we didn't play to his strengths. On to tactics, why oh why do we insist on playing some crossing game without having a target man of some sort- especially against Stoke who are bloody good at winning headers with their rugby like defenders, not to forget we had horrible crosses today anyway, and I dunno about you but our attackers look so shot on confidence it's like they don't want to shoot in fear! So much sideways passing and if we are gonna play a crossing game, we need numbers in the box or we need to drill a low cross, one of them ones that can go anywhere. Don't get me wrong, when Yoshida scored I truly believed had we got one we could have gone and won the game but alas it was not to be. On an aside, as my first ever trip to Stoke the atmosphere from the home fans were terrible, didn't live up to the sort of stuff you hear about the Brittannia even when they were winning too! The town itself wasn't brilliant as I ventured after the game, but also the Saints fans were unfortunately not too loud either, shame not everyone chants but it is what it is. PS- I'd like to thank a gentleman and his daughter for the taxi fare they so kindly paid for me after coming out of the railstation in Stoke. Truly wish I could owe them more.
  12. With wildcard you can transfer him out without being effected still btw! So as long as you do it by the deadline
  13. Thank you to all that responded to me on the previous page. I guess I'll be walking through Stoke from the station to the ground and getting a cab back to station after the game. Then for a night out in Brum!
  14. only done Brentford away and Palace away this season and now going to Stoke for the first time ever, so I've seen Saints score at least! Let's hope that continues! I've read that the Stoke on Trent station is actually like 40 minute walk away, any other Saints fans gonna do that or is there another preferred way of getting there?
  15. Merely awaiting an MLG correction.
  16. Yeah this is how I feel too. Just a ruthless clinical United
  17. Not quite off the line Just dont feel like the goal is coming but United are almost defending in huge numbers

    Koeman

nope it was a tongue in cheek joke and as for those sales, i'm fairly sure he knew we would be losing those players before taking on the job. for what it's worth, i agree he was an excellent manager for us who left me a massive sour taste in the way he left but now it is time to move on and support our current manager now.
  19. So Lovren, Lallana etc etc Only trophy they can now potentially win is most likely to be the FA Cup...
  20. We beat CP ffs These posts are gonna bite us in the arse and we need to keep a sense of perspective. Plus, only the FA Cup is left for us to win and knowing us we will draw Man City at home or something
  21. not free though, but if i download it would it work on a browser?
  22. i am in the exact same boat!
  23. Except from Liverpool where he'd be an upgrade in their LB position, and who want VVD anyway (Id charge them £105m for Ryan and VVD combined), which other clubs want him/which other club would he be an improvement for??? No one has bid for him or nothing so what is the cause for such a strop: I've come to the conclusion his miserable nature is just the way he is.
