This may surprise you Alps but I agree with you and it does sound the RK and the Board are working on those signings right now. In an ideal world we would have the squad sorted by now but I think most of us understand that agents are holding out for the best deals at the best clubs for their clients and the horse trading will go right up to the last minute of the last day for some clubs. There is no pint in panicking untl the transfer window closes. By that time we shal know what we have for the next season and then it is down to Ron to get the best out of them. What has happened has happened but it does open up new opportunities and I for one am quite excited to see what the new season brings. I totally agree that Pochettino leaving may have truned out to be a blessing and cant wait to see what and who RK brings to the club!
-
And I thought Alpine was a manic depressive!

Listen mate, people come, people go. We have new people in the club now and more to come. Personally I was not sad to see the back of the Don. I am not fussed about Pochettino and think that the Board have done really well to bring in someone of the calibre of Ronald Koeman. Shame we have lost Lambert, Shaw and Lallana (only three players have left as of now) but we have Pelle and Tadic with more to come so I am looking forward to seeing how they and the new players perform. Hardly the end of the world is it?

The threory was fine but the execution was lacking!
-
Ah but what fertile grow bags they are. From them such seedlings as the Lucius Shawus and Adamas Lallanaus have sprouted with more seedlings sprouting as we speak!
-
There is nothing like a good witter when there is no transfer news to speculate on

Criticism is fine, it is the constant negativity and whining that is the problem. And things are better in the garden since some of the people who were spraying weedkiller on the plants have gone. Just to recap re the players that have left. They have gone to bigger gardens with much more expensive, exotic flowers.

Goodness knows why DP is now coming in for some flak? This place is gradually being taken over my mean spirited, depressive, pessimistic wrist slitters who, through their blinkered filters, not only want to suck the joy that any of us have in supporting SFC, they clearly do not have any themselves. If it really is that bad for you, go away and do something else. You may be miserable but there is no need to drag everyone else down with you. Rock on Phil!!!

Perhaps you should change your name to Hyperpessimist?

My brother was into Curved Air - I think it was Sonjia Christina that really interested him!

Ince is an interesting one. Warmed the bench at Palace and none of the big clubs wanted him. He says he chose Hull over Inter Milan to help his England chances. WTF? Any better than Puncheon?
-
And it still took him several days to make up his mind. Arry must be losing his touch (or his agent was hoping someone else would come in for Caulker).

Many, many moons ago (1973) I won a competition in the NME. Two tickets to see Yes on their Tales from Topographic Oceans tour at the Rainbow. The album and two tickets to the after show party at the Inn on the Park. Result! My fav band back then though were ELP. Genesis with Peter Gabrial were awesome too. Golden era of Prog Rock.

What is embarrassing is to get all worked up over a player we were not apparently after.
-
The point I was making is that if he played for us your attitude towards him would be totally different. Yes his career at International level could have been a lot better and would have been if he had been Spanish or German and played in better teams. The bloke is a quality player. He is respected by people who know the game because he is a quality player. You can slag him off all you like but England will struggle to find an upcoming complete midfielder like him.
-
Darwinism, survival of the fittest etc. Call it what you like. It has been this way for a long time and is made worse by the SKY money. If MLT were playing now I doubt very much if we would be able to keep hold of him. Cest la vie.
-
Did it burn well?
-
I was a big Yes fan but cant be bothered to see them now they have ditched Jon Anderson. Some things work and some dont. It is his voice that makes Yes work for me. Take out Gilmour and is it Pink Floyd? Ideally you would want them both though.

I expect people are rubbing their hands waiting for our calls. They know we have money burning a hole in our pocket so they are expecting us to pay top dollar. We have been holding out for top dollar with our players so who can blame them?
-
Would you be saying the same if he was captain of SFC? I suspect you and many like you have got it in for him because he plays for Liverpool and they are nicking our players. Still at the end of the day the people who know football better than you or I respect him. It isnt Gerrads fault that England have been so poor and if he had been lucky enough to be born and in and play for Germany I expect the same people who are slagging him off now would be singing his praises.
-
He has done. He also accepts that he wasnt always at his best in an England shirt (and he wasnt alone in that). He is clearly still very upset by the recent WC. Whatever people think of him, he clearly does care and it must be hard for a player of his stature to live with those disappointments (as someone who has known great success at club level).
-
Isnt that the problem though? No one was better than Gerrard (in doing what Gerrard does best). They are scratching around for a captain now because there is no one good enough or respected enough (so they give it to Rooney FFS). If better players than Gerrard or Lampard were about neither would have gone to the WC. Where are the English midfielders coming through that score as many goals as those two from midfield?
-
It was Gerrard's misfortune to be born English and not German. Lahm would have won nothing if he had been English.

"Great" I would disagree. Good yes. His speed got him out of trouble (and having two decent centre halves). He got up the field but had little end product and should never have been let near a penalty. He wasnt called "Rashley" for nothing in his earlier days.
