    Danny Ings

I wish we had Everton's 9 League titles and 5 FA Cups.
  2. Even the win in that run was tainted by the VVD injury. Did we have five different managers for those? RH (0-9), Hughes (1-2), Pelligrino (1-4), Puel (3-0), Koeman (2-2).
  3. This looks like a faithful remake apart from the font on the sponsor. Hopefully it looks different in real life. https://www.southamptonfc.com/store/hummel/saints-1989-91-away-shirt-white-retro/c-1/c-426/p-4751
  4. He does look physically strong but I presume people are thinking he isn't up for it because of the way Calvert-Lewin roughed him up a bit on Monday.
  5. Largely been terrible this season as a whole though. It's a no from me.
  6. We were awful in that game against Everton. I recall Cedric Soares' "efforts" at left back being a particular lowlight.
  7. The likes of Lallana, Schneiderlin, Cork and McGoldrick seemed to have gone on to do alright. Obviously last night was stupid, reckless etc. but I can't fault him for wanting to play games. I think more players would benefit from regular football at a younger age. Hopefully he'll learn from this as he appears to be highly rated.
  8. Good article on his contribution and statistical comparison to other players here: https://www.prostinternational.com/2021/01/25/ibrahima-diallo-the-multi-string-jewel-in-southamptons-revamped-scouting-crown/
  9. I don't know why nobody has ever mentioned this before.
  10. There's always an assumption that player X would have made it if he'd stayed at the club but for some players being released is the catalyst they need to make them become the player they are.
  11. 🤣 if you're thinking of putting money on Saints to win the PL you'd be better off buying some of those smelling salts to wake yourself up a bit.
  12. Any recommendations for 20/21 season?
  13. That looks superb. Will certainly be taking a good look around. Thanks.
  14. This and Lemina in the semi-final against Chelsea (as stated above) both immediately sprang to mind as well. Bertand wasn't alone in that game though - it was our second trip to West Ham, not long after Hughes had taken over and the effort was pathetic from nearly all of them. I recall Lemina in the SF against Chelsea having gone to ground in front of our end, he wasn't injured but just couldn't be bothered to get up. In that moment we're one game away from an FA Cup final, the game's not completely beyond us and he behaves like that - still makes me angry.
  15. Nice touch from the club. What do they think is going to happen for the rest of season?

  17. Based on this weekend, Watford don't look too bad. That team did well for them last year and even though they looked terrible against us they are much better than that, so that means looking for another team worse than us from above (assuming Norwich and Villa maintain a worse position than us). We're still right in it.
  18. The problem with comparing the team of today to the team of Puel is to assume that no other team has improved in that period. Look at all the money every other club is splashing about and the improvement in coaching etc. Rodgers seems to be doing a bit more with the Leicester team than Puel did.
  19. That’s what I thought as well, even included the opposition having a chance to equalise that they really should have scored before we got our second on the break. Was the plan to play Danso left back regardless of Bertrand’s injury or because it was known he had a knock and might not play?
  20. What a great game that was - think it was the same night the Archers was told to sit down. I had a VHS with the commentary from Solent on South Today but even if I had a player no idea where the video is now. The commentator was Roger Johnson.
  21. It would have been a disaster if we'd appointed 3x Europa League winner Emery
  22. Don't spoil it by watching Saints then ;-)
  23. Everton?

    Fan behaviour

The worst behaviour I’ve seen recently is that bloke who posts videos of himself at matches crying and so on. In order to discourage this sort of behaviour a 10 year ban should be imposed.
  25. With our high tempo all action style these days they wouldn’t fit in with the gruelling fitness work we see evidenced in the exciting performances where we’re all go for 90 minutes plus whatever the ref allows. As we only look to sell players at a profit it would seem there isn’t as much value in the 30 something in terms of a re-sale.
