  1. Considering Saints have finished 8th, 7th and 6th in the past three years, I would hazard a guess that Saints are doing a mighty fine job of competing for places that arguably should be well beyond them. I would also suggest that, instead of pointing out Southampton's faults in not keeping their best players whilst they have been consistent in finishing top ten, you should look at how Liverpool still haven't recovered from losing Luis Suarez.
  2. I quite like the idea of putting out a statement only for that statement to be quashed and criticized because Les Reed only tells lies and hates ambition, apparently.

    Euro 2016

    Northern Ireland topped the group?!
  4. This suggests that for Malaga that is quite the substantial amount. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-malaga/alletransfers/verein/1084
  5. He knows the manager at Tottenham and will most likely get a wage rise. No point delaying a move that he's wanted for at least two years, from his perspective.
  6. https://twitter.com/bedjosessien/status/743834408264794112 Collins Okinyo @bedjosessien Victor Wanyama is expected to have a medical at Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days Victor follows this journalist, FWIW.
  7. Get French Football @GFFN Breaking | Adam Ounas (Bordeaux) already has 6 concrete offers on the table, including from Manchester United, Napoli & Southampton. (RMC)
  8. So putting a tenner on at 25/1 will give you a rough profit of around £0.00
  9. Bog-standard answer I know, but Pellè has said he would talk about his future after the Euros: http://nos.nl/ek2016/artikel/2110966-pelle-ik-moet-feyenoord-en-koeman-bedanken.html
  10. It's the way that those clauses work in Spain. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-target-ander-herrera-3769672
  11. The Football League have completely quashed the lists made for their three leagues, so I imagine that one is fake too.
  12. Interviewed him for a University project, and one of the things he said was that whilst he loves managing his country (who wouldn't?), the one thing that he doesn't like is that he doesn't get to spend enough time on the training pitch. Basically he'd want a club job afterwards. Don't think it would be at Saints obviously, but wouldn't be surprised if he went to Russia for a club job, particularly Spartak as he is a fan and the coach who has helped him a lot, Aleksandrs Starkovs, managed there for a time. Really loves Saints though; first thing he said after saying hello etc. is talk about the Newcastle game that had just gone in April, how much he likes Shane Long and how well Saints were doing.
  13. I'd hazard a guess that this has come from Liverpool's end. It's a bit like last year when Pedro went to Chelsea instead of Man Utd and it was suddenly "oh we actually wanted Mané instead". I expect he'll go, but surely he'd have better offers than Liverpool?
  14. With the new TV deal, is any player outside the biggest clubs in Europe and the Premier League really out of our budget? I know Ajax are a massive club, but I suspect they would have a serious think if Saints were to put decent money on the table.
  15. The stuff about players not leaving because of Cortese... Didn't Morgan Schneiderlin kick off because he had a 'gentleman's agreement' from Cortese he could leave for £10m in summer 2014? Surely ties in with the fact that he signed a new contract in February 2013 with the agreement he could leave in a year.
  16. Few weeks back, but I'm not sure it was put on here. 19 year old Polish midfielder Bartosz Kaputska, a quick Google/FM16 search says he can play CM or attacking midfield http://sport.interia.pl/klub-cracovia/news-bartosz-kapustka-obserwowany-przez-skauta-southampton-fc,nId,2146083
  17. Probably a more modern selection but... Steve Howard (His winner for Derby in February 07 ruined my 12th birthday) David Norris... 'Nuff said. Robin Van Persie...
  18. Considering he made his u18s debut back in December, he's had some rise! Never heard of him before he played against Norwich u18s but stood out like a sore thumb even though he was 2-3 years younger; Fleming even said he was the only bright spot of that game, IIRC.
  19. What's Ajax like? Going over to watch the derby next week, 21st birthday present from my girlfriend.
  20. Billy Sharp, even just for six months?
  21. Fair enough, can't argue with that.
  22. Fairly certain he's been out for some time with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
  23. Someone like Swindon?
  24. Just putting a name out there. Sadio is likely to go this summer, so what about Sporting Lisbon winger Andre Carrillo? If Saints scouted Cedric heavily, they'll have surely seen him plenty of times, and his contract expires this summer so could cost just a big signing on fee. Leicester offered £12m last summer, so there could be a bit of competition...
