Saints vs Norwich - Build-up

Same 11 as Saturday except for Long in for Obafemi. Did Ralph not learn a thing?

Redmond and Cedric were gash and deserve to sit.

In fairness, suspect Boufal or Armstrong would have started if either had been fully fit. It's good news Boufal has at least made the bench again. I am a bit surprised Cedric has stayed in, although Valery not on bench so maybe he has a knock as well?

Although Long is one of the worst finishers in Premiership history he is a magnet for chances and creates chances for himself. He is a pest against defenders and personally I’d have him ahead of Obafemi.

Hopefully Ings can get the chances off of Long's harrying. I wouldn't trust Long to score from 1 yard out in the center of the goal, he'd somehow shin it over or scuff it wide.

Exactly, Long can cause mistakes in the backline (which Ings has scored multiple goals from this season), win us plenty of freekicks (which JWP has scored from), and also wins a lot of balls in the air whilst also getting himself plenty of chances which law of averages says he will score from eventually!

We might as well play someone who is very good in some areas and awful in others than someone who is OK at everything.

Go for the high press right from the start, reckon we might force an early goal.
I hate an early goal becuase we always seem to go a bit **** when we score one. I'd be happy with us scoring a 1-0 winner with the last kick of the game so we can't **** it up...
