Thedelldays Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 so i have heard... is one of the options to the new owners not too sure about that one myself....keegan as manager or not at all cant believe he would do the DoF role..seeing as that is why he left newcastle...cant see ince having such a person above him.. would not mind ince either...but one OR the other.. Badger Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 Can't see that working frankly. Both are pretty headstrong characters, and I doubt Ince would have anyone tell him or advise him on anything. KK is experienced and has contacts through the game so could make a DoF,but I've always seen him as a 'player's manager' rather than a suit in the boardroom. hugh Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 Keegan and Tisdale might work. Keegan and Dowie might work. Keegan and Ince would last a month, tops. I just don't see Ince in the equation at all TBH. Too many negatives, his home life/distance, antipathy between MLT and Ince, etc., etc.

ozzmeister Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 I would agree that Keegan on his own would work best. Would like to see Svensson kept as Assistant but would assume Keggsey would bring his own men in?

trousers Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 Please, let's not take the 'DoF' route....we're going to get a case of too many cooks here....MLT/Keegan/Ince.....? Let's just have a chairman with some footballing nouse and an autonomous manager who works without interference from someone sitting between him and the chairman. krissyboy31 Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 I can't see Keegan working with Ince. Both would want to be hands on and make the important decisions. Keegan and Tisdale could work because you would have a master/trainee situation but I think Ince would want complete control.

He failed in the Prem like a lot of manager but it was the way he failed that makes people think he'd be a poor appointment. He was a **** as a player and seems to be going the same was as a manager. Because David Bentley said he made the players do it, he's a **** that's why I don't want him to be our manager I couldn't give a toss about his record in the prem or his record with Macclesfield and MK Dons. I just don't like the bloke at all. I hated Strachan before he came here....after many years of watching him as a player winding up others - moaning - getting at refs etc....exactly the same as Ince. Groaned when he took over.....jumped for joy when we got Burley.....think we all should just wait and see what unfolds. Personally at the moment I just want the deal done and worry about the rest later.

Andy_Porter Posted 19 June, 2009 Share Posted 19 June, 2009 i thought bentley had been sold by the time he joined..? Nah took spurs ages to get Bentley, don't think he signed until a week before the season started. Spurs had to sell Keane before they could fund the Bentley deal. Bentley has complained about nearly every manager he's ever played under. He is a big time charlie who thinks he's a lot better than he is. I don't care what he said (If he did actually even say it) No doubt about that, can't see why he would make something up though...
