niceandfriendly Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 Well he lives in Switzerland so I very much doubt he was there. He'll more than likely just come back for the odd home game like he is doing.

Ken Tone Posted 20 August, 2009 Author Share Posted 20 August, 2009 So for that matter, was he at huddersfield? How keen is he on playing with his new 'train set'? The more of a fan he becomes the more he'll get sucked into spending money! K.
krissyboy31 Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 I doubt it. I doubt he'd be at any of our midweek games TBH. He is not going to keep his diary at Mali clear on a Tuesday afternoon so that he can fly to the UK for a match and fly back for his Wednesday morning meeting. Am simply curious to know is he going to be sufficiently committed, and interested in us, to attend every game, home and away? Or will he just pick and choose games? K. Oh dear god. How many times - he has spent a significant amount of money buying the club, appointed Cortese to run the business for him, agreed a long term plan including a budget for this season and is leaving Cortese up to it. So that is his commitment sorted. He won't be selling any time soon. That enough for you? He lives in Switzerland and has other commitments also - i.e. has a life outside Football which can't be a bad thing. He will come to as many games as he can but Cortese and crew will be there every step of the way for him. I am happy with that!
trousers Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 How many more times do I have to say this.....he's only here as a Trojan Horse for his siblings to help them win the contract for supply of cranes for the Southampton Dock expansion programme. Keep up. (Note: A percentage of the above statement is completely made up)
oxfordshire_saint Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 As long as Cortese was there, Markus doesn't need to be. I can imagine he'll be over for the odd home game now and again, that's it.
kpturner Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 I don't think he is going to turn up at every game, and not doing so is fine by me. I don't see his perpetual presence as a sign of commitment - the large wedge of cash he has stumped up to buy the club is commitment enough methinks. How many fans attend every game home and away?? Mr Liebherr is not the DWPS and to be honest has no need to increase the hand outs he has already made by idlely throwing money at us. IMO we need to show and in some cases improve our commitment before he provides more cash.
