trousers Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 Was off the beer at the game yesterday due to being on medication (about time I hear some say) so was drinking coffee instead. FFS catering people...please put more than 3 grains of nescafe in each cup! Even the beer will taste good after that crap! Come on markus and nicola... Now you've sorted out the team time to tackle some of the simpler stuff. Like building a bigger bridge over the railway line. I'm sure more would stay on to watch the end of the game if they knew it wouldn't take half hour to crawl back home over a bridge designed to carry 3 people per minute. Oh, and the white support beams around the outside of the stadium are getting greener with water mold by the week. bit of a spruce up perhaps? Cheers me old mucker! Unfortunately the green mould will be there for some time. The original paint spec was 'cheap & cheerful' and altho Barr's (the stadium builders) are contracted to undertake some 'snagging' work, its likely to cost some considerable pence to do a decent job. Guess the prioirity is spending on the team at the mo altho it is also helpful to have the facilities in good order too

Look at the bigger picture. What may seem trivial on the surface can have wider and more significant knock on effects. 110% FACT

RonManager Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 Swindon & Oldham - Worst. Burgers. Ever. I like the one's sold outside the ground. I've recently been on a diet and only allow myself one every home match, but only if we don't lose. This can be walked off on the way back to the station. Prince Jazzbo Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 At the Bristol Rovers game, I went up and bought my usual half time black coffee, emptied to sachets of sugar in to it, stirred it. Took my first sip, only to find they'd given me Bovril, which with sugar tastes rather unique. Although I'm glad we lost as I might have seen it as an omen and repeat it at every game. The Kraken Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 We used to have bottle bars in the concourse with bottles of Carlsberg on sale from a separate temporary stand. As much as I don't like Carlsberg, in a biottle infinitely better than the horrible flat pap they serve out of the pipes. Bring these back, surely? The queues for a pint are a joke anyway. At other stadia and events there's all sorts of efforts made to sell beer not just from the designated kiosks, through bottle bars, lads with beer cooler backpacks etc, why can't we do that? It would pay for itself surely.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 Yeah I read on write ups about St. Mary's about how good the queue waiting time is, but earlier this season, I got in the queue about a minute after the half time whistle blew, stood there for 15 minutes, got my pint on 45 minutes exactly after the bloke serving had to ask a steward whether my ID showed that I was 18 or not cos he didn't understand the date, and then I had to practically down it cos I didn't want to miss the action! But hey, I can't complain, we've won 4 league games in a row!

Your right, I hold my head in shame, what a self centred tw4t I am..................pr1ck!!! By way of an update on that, when I went to the office window Saturday lunchtime to see if I could relocate, the person at the window knew nothing about it. I explained what I knew and watched as she moved around the office asking her colleagues. Although I cold not hear, I could see much shaking of heads. Then a chap entered and joined in the converstion and it was obvious that he knew what the deal was. He had a word with me to confirm and then sorted it. I asked if the club could issue an official update as there were concerns along the lines of yours, and he said he would do that.

September Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Share Posted 26 October, 2009 Has anyone been to a ground where they sell decent beer? Unfortunately draught Real Ale is a no-no as it will go off between home matches. Methinks a few stalls selling just bottles of beer would pay for itself as people are more likely to have another if there isn't a huge queue. Mind you some grounds (Loftus Road) only seem to sell to home fans! Grrrrr
