Cheer on Rickie Lambert and make free money

Am I only one who thinks this is close to being free money?

Rickie Lambert is 2/1 to end the season as L1's top goalscorer. This means if you think Rickie's chances are better than 33% of ending as League One's top scorer, then this is a good bet.

I think he is presently topping the charts with a two goal buffer. I'd put his chances at about 50%+. Get your money down fast. By the time I've finished this post, I may already have swung the odds.

I know a lot of people are saying ..what a lot of money we paid for Lambert

(LOL) it may be a lot for L1 - but we've had a dozen or more players in the past 15 years who cost more.

However, I'm sure Bristol rovers thought they got a good deal, but looking at their present position - did they. Admitedly they are in a ply-off spot, but out "true" results form is equal to theirs (except for the -10) and Lambert has scored more than their best two players together.

L1 Scorer tables list ; Hughes and Kuffour on 6 each.. whilst Lambert has 15..

and even Lallana has 9 already. As we found out several times before; getting a good transfer fee doesn't mean you can get a good replacement.

just chucked 50k on that! if I win the 'Yeah' if not its only cash

"50,000" what though... ;)

REALLY hope they both stay fit and would love to see one if not both beating Beckford... who I could see getting picked up by a mid to lower third Premier League club like Hull or Wigan.

agreeed...I think we will finish above bristol rovers...

the top of the table at the end of the season according to Tdd

Leeds

Charlton

Norwich

Huddersfield

SAINTS

Colchester

I'd go with that Tdd. ..and in fact if you disregarded the -10.. and that catastrophic start when it took 8 games to get our first win, our form since then (with most of the present (new) AP squad)... would have placed us even higher than that !

COYR !!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't be suprised to see Charlton drop out of the top 6 all together, especially if Shelvey goes in January. Can't see them scoring enough goals to stay towards the top.

Norwich, Huddersfield and Leeds all alot better than Charlton from what i've seen.

Spot on Andy. Leeds to win the title with Norwich and Hudds battling it out for 2nd spot is my shout. Charlton look very ordinary as do Rovers, MK Dons and all the other teams there or thereabouts.

You'll owe me £20 if you're wrong (which you will be, let's face it.)

I think he was simply explaining why their odds were shorter at this time.

All he said was "I'd rather be playing Hereford than Norwich". I'm sure there's a slightly tricky probability discussion to be had here, but I'm not providing it.

For once.

Free money? I think not. Gambling is a mug's game. Avoid.

He's now at close to evens http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-one/coca-cola-league-1/top-goalscorer

Commiserations to those who didn't follow my tip.

So I was correct it was basically free money as you can now hedge your bets, thereby 100% guaranteeing a return of 1/6 of your initial stake.

Alternatively, you could keep your money on Rickie and stand to treble your money if he finishes as top scorer (a prospect that the betting markets rate as 50-50)

As I said earlier no matter what odds it is, gambling is never "like buying money" or "free money". What if Lambert injures his knee against Norwich and is out for the rest of the season?

If you're worried about this, lay off your original stake. You would have made a 17% return on your stake in a week if you'd followed my tip. That's a sensational return on investment.
