Well Mr.Pulis is back at Saints

I think Pulis has something to offer. He's gone away and got Football League playing time in only the league below. There are some question marks over the Hammond and Schneiderlin partnership so when he recovers from his injury perhaps he could play a part. He's the sort of tenacious midfielder every team needs.

Very true, Pulis is so underrated and is probably our best player.

has anybody seen him play for us, and if so how many times?

I know he is injury prone but until I have seen him play I cant comment on his ability. It is no use reading what other clubs fans say as Im sure we would have told the Spurs fans that Bale was class, Dean Richards superb etc etc and many would have told Stoke that Fuller and Delap were rubbish but are both integral.

Given he is barely a footballer, I would imagine, in footballers terms, the wage he is on is miniscule to it would really would be best for the club to pay up the few grand left on whatever contract he is on and send him on his way.....

The suggestion isn't as bad as it may first seem. It isn't only Pulis, but a number of other players at the club who have left the youth set up behind, and it is now clear that in the opinion of our own management team they haven't got the quality that AP is looking for, i.e. not ever likely to be better than the current team and currently not as good as. Remembering that we are a L1 team the amount of takers for these players must be coming primarily from L2 and non-league football. If they are showing no interest at all in these players then AP and NC must consider if there is any value in them coming in for training until the end of their contracts?

Players who know that they are not in the manager's plans are not an asset for the club since they don't try to impress anymore. Without them meaning any harm they detract from the competitive spirit. In that context a decision must be made if it isn't a better policy to pay up their contracts in the short term and keep a smaller, but much more competitive squad.

Saw him play a couple of times in pre-season. Awful, absolutely awful. He can't pass, his touch is awful, he can't tackle...he's just diabolical. The sooner we get shot of him, the better.

You need some spare players and cones to help the first team train/practice....Having seen Anthony play and taking into account his high wages and sick bay record....it would seem more sensible to off load Anthony and purchase a couple of extra cones.....at least they would always turn up and be available for practice......

He was certainly terrible at Cheltenham but I think that is about the only time I've actually seen him play (or at least in a Saints' shirt). Not sure you can make a definitive opinion on one match but seeing he hasn't really pushed for a first team place, I wouldn't be sorry to see him find himself another club.

Movie buffs may recall the old Peter Sellers movie 'Being There' in which an incompetent fool accidentally becomes President of the USA somehow , I sometimes think Anthony Pulis has woken up one morning to find himself a professional footballer for reasons no one quite understands :D

The jokes on us however as we are paying his wages .

Apart from his Dad and Lowe/Jan nobody else in football seems to rate him. He's hardly played any games for a number of differant clubs.

I doubt his Dad actually rates him or he'd still be at Stoke. He only signed him because he is his father. Rupert and Jan on other hand have no excuse!

... not to mention being more talented.

He was signed by Lowe last summer. Based on that I'm assuming we're paying him nectar points and magic beans.

Has he ever played a game for us?

Depends on your point of view.

Well now, he has donned his very own personalised Saints shirt and stepped onto the pitch in several reserve games, plus a couple of pre-season friendlies. He may have been in the darts team, but I can't be sure of that.

I do feel a bit sorry for the chap. Having said that it is pretty shocking that he hasn't played a single game. You do have to ask yourself what exactly was the point? It's not as if he had any track record of playing for any club to be honest!!

Maybe at the age of 25 he will finally kick on and become a legend.

I wish I had half his misfortune. He's probably the luckiest man alive.

..as his Dad was promised the managers job. The key in signing players and appointing managers is just as it is in comedy...........................timing
