Oh I see, wonder what he will do with it.....

Currently it is being leased to a farmer as grazing land, so a small income is being got for it. But as planning rights have been given to every other farm around Im sure it wont be long before houses appear

From what I know the long term plan is for Jackson farm to be turned into a training ground/ reserve pitch once we reach the premiership. Im not ITK really but I was passsed on this from someone working on the new develpments

We could finally groundshare with p*rtsmuff...our reserves, their first team...who'd get the biggest gates?

So in the future, Staplewood for the first team and Jacksons Farm for the youth team? Unlikely I would have thought.

It is located within on the periphery of the Hedge End Strategic Development Area. Given the number of Local Authorities involved in the SDA I don't think houses will be appearing on it in the short term. I know that at least one Local Authority was becoming increasingly opposed to its concept even through it has been in their Development Plan for a number of years.

The precise boundaries of the SDA are yet to be determined - so Jacksons Farm might not even be identified yet!

Im not going to get into this, argument lol, but Berrywood Farm, Dowds Farm, Hinkley Farm, all developed in that last 10 -15 yrs with Dowds Farms still being developed all within 1/2 mile of Jacksons, but we will see

I have put this up before but for completeness:

http://www3.hants.gov.uk/elh010_hedge_end_sda.pdf

Page 2 shows the approximate area of search. Proposals for the whole SDA have to be delivered through the emerging Development Plan and in particular the North / North East Hedge End SPD. I understand this will not be complete until 2013 (work is not meant to start until this summer!)

Dowds Farm for instance differs completely from Jacksons Farm - it was an allocation in the Eastleigh Local Plan.

Whilst I am promoting land in Eastleigh Borough, I am not at the SDA. But this information comes from other planning consultants who are.

The site has no planning status in an Adopted Development Plan. It is currently unallocated and as you have said is within an agriculture use. The only way the site would come forward in the short term is if there was an insufficent housing land supply. The Council has a number of 'Reserve' sites which are to be used in this circumstance.

Surely that would make the planned development at Staplewood a waste of money.

The Staplewood upgrade is cosmetic with a new building it has to be said. When you have a blank canvass say like jacksons farm the world is your oyster. JF would be far more strategically placed rather than in the middle of nowhere like marchwood.

Is it unwritten law of the Saints Web Forum that we must have new thread on Jacksons Farm at least every three months?

The repeated mentions of Jackson's Farm as our eventual financial salvation during the admin saga made it sound a bit like this forum's Watership Down...

'Don't worry children, one day we'll sell Jackson's Farm to a rich developer and we'll never have to be frightened again...'

The new building, upgrade to dome and training pitches at Staplewood will be costing a lot of cash to just use for a few years and then move on. It is far more than just cosmetic.

Doesn't make financial sense. Why not just draw up plans for Jackson's Farm to move at the earliest possible time?

Well i think you would still upgrade staplewood as we are currently league 1. In future years maybe once back in the PL there might be thoughts of moving to a new facility. Its an option at the least.

The planned Staplewood development wouldn't look out of place in the Premeirship now. So why move again? I don't believe they are considering this.

I doubt they are considering it but in years to come its an option.

This has nothing to do with the team. Why do we keep talking about it

Yes it does potentially. Either because if it got sold as development land a substantial amount of money would find its way into ML's pockets (if indeed the Farm is owned by him since the administration) and he might feel inclined to spend it on the team. Or, as has been rumoured on here, the land might have some useful function as a training ground.

It was not donated.

Yep, I really don't know how many times the true history of Jackson's Farm have been explained on this site (and it's predecessors) Even Mary Corbett confirmed it.

Mr John Corbett loaned SFC £15000 to buy JF with the prevision that it would be paid back over time, which it has been.

Am I the only person who doesn't, and never has given a f**k about this f**king farm?

There's a farm called Misery, but of that we'll have none

Because we know of one That's always lots of fun (Ha ha!)

And this one's name is Jacksons; believe me, folks, it's great.

For everything sings out to us as we go through the gate

All the little pigs, they grunt and howl

The cats mee-yow

The dogs bow-wow

Everybody makes a row Down on Jacksons Farm

All the little pigs, they grunt and howl (Grunt, howl, grunt, howl)

The cats mee-yow (Mee-yow, mee-yow)

The dogs bow-wow (Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff)

Everybody makes a row Down on Jacksons Farm

All the little birds go tweet, tweet, tweet

The lambs all bleat (baaaaa!)

And shake their feet

Everything's a perfect treat Down on Jacksons Farm

Regular as habit The coc ks begin to crow

Can the old buck rabbit Sing and Stuff it up your jumper Vo-do-de-oh

All the little ducks go quack quack quack (quack quack quack)

The cows go Moo (honk)

The bull does, too (whonk!)

Everyone says how do you do Down on Jacksons Farm.

With apologies to and a big tip o' the hat to Viv Stanshall (RIP) and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Daa Band.

Apologies as I was clearly mis-informed about this (and cannot ever recall seeing any explanation on here - I don't read everything though ). In that case then, it has nothing to do with the football club now and should be consigned to history. Move on.

I think that explains the position quite clearly. The grazing ponies are quite safe!
