Rut Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 He should never have played again after this. If he hadn't have played for Man Utd at the time he probably wouldn't have. As it was he did carry on playing and he should have been sent off a lot more times than he actually was. Can't stand the bloke. It's one thing needing a 'hard man' in your team. It's another when he only gets away with stuff cos of who he played for. He wouldn't have lasted 5 mins in the 70's. Luckily his time at Ipswich has shown him to be a sh*t manager. Couldn't believe how lucky he got at Sunderland. Remember the game at St Marys? Saints were all over em - Sunderland had 2 long range shots at goal that both hit the top corner. F*ck all to do with good management but of course he lapped it up. He soon bottled out of it when his luck ran out. After Sammy Lee he's prob my most hated person in football. After saying that - then so what if he gave us the finger after sending us down? I (almost) give him credit for that. I like players who give stick back to the fans. I don't like players who think they have the right to end another players career though. W*anker. For those going tomorrow then give him 100% stick. SO SO SO want to see that c*nt squirm. Makes me laugh when fans come out with this rubbish, only a game Scott says but after we went dwn I was devestated, not ashamed to admit that, it's called passion and thats what footballs all about, that weekend I lost the plot and went on a self indulged rampage resulting being thrown out of several pubs and wrestling my father in-law to the floor, things that I wouldn't normally do but after that day I indulged myself and Keane making that gesture was a disgusting act, he is a c*nt. Thedelldays Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 on a slightly different note... Ian Wright once said that saints fans were one of the worst to give it out and not being able to take it.. he talked about one time he was playing for arsenal at the dell (they beat us) and he scored...after getting all sorts of abuse all game, he was subbed with a few mons to go and when he was walking over to the dubout the abuse got worse..he reacted by giving a 2 finger salute... the next day, wright was contacted by Hampshire police as many saints fans complained.... IMO, fans who dish it out but cant take the stick back are sad...I love it when players interact with the fans...good or bad way

I love getting wound up by players and screaming at them. The idea that I would then go to the police is pathetic. It's part of the fun of the game, like Giant Haystacks winding the old wrestling crowd up... I remember watching a Pompey game and I think it was Ian Baird playing for Leeds at the time. He suffered so much stick throughout the game he eventually bioled over, reacted and was sent off! That's the beauty of it. Today we need to get right behind our team so that we can shove it down Keane's throat. Imagine being 2-0 up with 5 to go and singing 'sacked in the morning'... Those who hate Keane are not moaning at the sanctimonious high and mighty for their lack of hate, so maybe the same should be afforded to them. Football is a broad church afterall.
