PaulSaint Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 A 3 - 1 victory against Leeds in the JPT Final? A guaranteed 5th place finish? We beat Pompey 5 -1 at FP after a 2-2 draw at St Marys? :tfrag: Eek, I can decide!!!
alpine_saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 5th place finish. Has to be. We can kick their arses twice next season - if they survive.
Saint_clark Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Thank f*ck we don't have to make that choice, as we will get all three

John B Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 5th place finish. Has to be. We can kick their arses twice next season - if they survive. I quite like being in League 1 so I would go for the JPT win
Deano6 Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Win v Pompey. JPT, while nice, is not a serious competition. Not fussed about League position this season, would rather storm the league next year as Champions with a mature, settled squad and carry that momentum into Championship. This is a very, very tempting thought. However, I think I would take a bye due to their administration prior to the game. Then, 5th position play-off place would be top of the list. PaulSaint Posted 24 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2010 I've decided, as someone who lives nearer Soton but works in Pompey its gotta be the Fratton Park Humiliation!
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Should be atleast 2 of 3 it`s not fair to pick just 1 !)
hypochondriac Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Is the alternative to the 5-1 a humiliating loss? If so I want the skate trouncing.
hypochondriac Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 We can always go up next year. This could very well be our final chance to beat them.
This Charming Man Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Battrering the Skates, without a doubt.
St Marco Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Have to say i choose the Skates game too.... 5th place would be a great achivement. But it doesn't mean we will go up. If we then played in playoffs and lost would mean nothing. Next year we will defo be top 2. I love the league, don't get me wrong. Just the cups are our only chance to win something. The buzz of playing and winning against Portsmouth at this momment in time would out weigh playing and winning against say Peterborugh (no offence to them). shurlock Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 anybody who wouldnt want 5th place has a screw loose.
Arizona Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Oooooh, major toughie. I would say the Skates. JPT would be a nice day out, win or lose. I wasn't planning on promotion this year either and finishing 5th is no guarantee of that. 5-1 at Fratton though, they will be talking about that on intergalatic cyber message centres in 100 years time. Andy_Porter Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 The pompey win without a doubt. We can go up next season, beating them at Fratton Park would be immense.
shurlock Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 not really we could finish 6th?? or we could batter pompey at SMS

CWD Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 the JPT gets my vote, but its hard to resist destroying pompey... guaranteed 5th place is all well and good but it doesnt get us promotion
Toomer Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 I like nothing more than battered skateb, but I also want promotion and win the paint pot.
hypochondriac Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Thing is no one will remember us in league one in five years time. It will be nothing but a bad memory. If we beat the skates 5-1 away it would be remembered for years.
oggiee Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Good thread, like some have mentioned 5th place may mean nothing as we could lose in the playoffs, so it leaves it between the JPT and the skates, the JPT would be a fantastic day out at wembley, but making up for that 4-1 loss on their ground would mean more for the fans I think, so i'd go for the win at Nottarf Krap. wightman35 Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Being sixth at the end of the season would do fine, (Remember we are currently still only three points above the drop zone!) as we could still win the Playoff final. Don't want a draw at SMS; a big win would be tastier.
