Joesaint Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Felt our team did put alot of effort, defence got found out esp W. Thomas (our defence were not our best, though CP and RJ put in a great effort. Our fans were brill and were singing there hearts out, really loved it. On walk home their were kids still singing OWTS. We had nothing to loose in that match regards there players are (at the moment prem players) and although they won today there wages will also help kill there club. Our team is progressing. Our club have a wicked stadium which we can fill. Basicly we should be proud of our club because the team and the fans even though we lost to poopy, put there all in today. Our support is the foundation you need for a great (sustainable) club. COYS PS extra reasons welcome

St Chalet Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 We showed more class and we also showed passion. Last year we would have given up at 1-0 or try to hold out at 1-1. We never looked out of it until the 3rd goal. Never thought I would feel 'ok' after losing to the Skates 4-1 but so proud of the fans, players and club today. Saint Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Despite the result it was such a good game. Their support was fairly embarassing. Aside from 'Play up p*mpey' (which every idiot knows) they couldn't string a song together. That also got shouted down, although i wish it was with 'f*ck of pompey' rather than 'pay up' as they sound too similar. They have no real reasons to feel pride in their club at the moment. They should have beaten us a lot more easily.

St Marco Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Am very proud today of the players, fans, manager and of course the owner. It was a great game and showed to the uk how things have changed here. In contrast to the Man Utd beating last year things are the total opposite. We are a TEAM on the up, we played better then they did today. It hurts to lose but it is just a game, one that will be forgotten soon. As their loan players vanish into the distance when the season ends, when James and Grant leave in the summer and they start life in CCC with financial uncertainty they will fade away. This was their last big day out for a long long time. Normal service will resume.

sfcmick Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Fantastic game, Saints were so much better than the Skates in the first half just lacked some quality finishing. Second half more chances went begging no way did we deserve to lose, 4-1 flattered the Skates who are an absolute pile of shi*e. As for their fans what can one say, pathetic bunch of sad looking freaks . Before the game i hoped poopy would stay in business but after today the game of football would be better off if they went bust. Why do i keep reading Poopy have great fans, where are they, definitely were not at St Mary's today. Well played Saints for the best part of the game you looked more like the team from the prem, very proud to be a saints supporter today even though we lost. Lets hope on march the 1st Poopy finally get what they deserve and they certainly deserve it, F**k off Pompey for good.

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Tonight I can't pretend that it doesn't hurt to have lost to them , so I won't even bother trying . But I also can't pretend that I'm not proud of my old club , I'm so very proud of each and every one of our players today , and above all I'm proud to call myself a Saints fan . My admiration for Alan Pardew has increased rather than decreased as a result of today's match - his team selection is beyond criticism and it's perfectly obvious that he had them totally up for the challenge and so well organised - I'm far from unbiased but I honesty think we were the better team for much of the match . So we lick our wounds and withstand the 'slings and arrows of outrageous fortune' with all the dignity and restraint we can muster , knowing with complete certainty that the next time we play them we will be stronger and they will be weaker . Bring it on .

sadoldgit Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Absolutely gutted at the result but very proud of SFC today. The support looked amazing and those red and white stripes in the stands before the start were awesome. As others have said, I thought we were the better team for most of the game but were undone but some very good counter attacks and soem great keeping. Shame we couldn't finish as well as them, but if you don't take your chances when you are top you end up paying for it. My only gripe was that Lambert should have been on the end of the free kicks rather than taking them. We he did go into the box he scored. Apart from Thomas who looked very average I though everyone did well. The scoreline flattered them but it was a really good game of football and we did ourselves proud. I'm afraid we will always have a mix of people who won't be completely satisfied unless Saints win every match, and probably 5-0 in the process. On the other side there will be people doing flik-flaks at endless no-score draws, and just missing relegation. Remember how we used to have people who would rather have a relegation fight, than be mid-table, when we were in the Premiership..? Now that takes an odd type of fan, IMO. Thankfully, most of us are somewhere in between. If you want to reflect on the game, that's the only way to think about it. I couldn't give a feck about that lot. They are out of jail on a technicality and if we're not a league higher than them in the next three years - assuming they survive - I am a fecking Dutchman. Let them have a moment in the sun. Nope, just completely bored with your obsessive baiting. How many times have you been this season ? I live ABROAD, not "currently Maidstone" but am still willing to bet I have been more than you. Were you there today ? No of course not, your opinion is formed from nice pretty wide-anlge shots courtesy of ITV which as many on here have pointed out, dont show the whole picture. I havent even criticised the performance particularly, but still you need to bring meaning to your pathetic life by getting a rise out of me. I have never tried to dress up my opinion as anything but an emoitional reaction to the result and what others have posted. As time has gone on, I have worked out for myself who posts realistic descriptions of events compared to wishy-washy b*ll*cks with no ambition and plenty of shrugging of shoulders like you write. You lecture about my negativity, well its my opinion. If you dont like it, dont read it. I come on here and give my reaction to events at SFC, not to zero in on posters who I like to wind-up and sneer at their posts - like you do.
