Would be nice, but may be unlikely. Would be a revelation down here though, and would really signal our intent. Would probably need to offer between 15 and 20 k for him. He is however, not a money grabber. He's very philosophical and imo, a very cool individual. It may work for him.

tbf we are low down in the football world atm, but we have a real opportunity to potentially have 2/3 really really fun seasons. Who wouldn't want to be part of that? If he's reasonable with the wage requests, you never know.

 

You'll get more fun and enjoyment here in the next couple of years, than you would get at a club like Bolton/Wigan/blackburn...IMO.

I'm biassed, but isn't that better than struggling along with Blackpool etc? I mean, he's good, but doubtful he could still do it in the premiership.

You see the issue with wages is not a problem NC will know exactly what he can afford as a budget and then will pay what he wants to pay them if the player does not like it they will not sign. Simples.

The reason for me being singled out is that I refuse to pretend everything is peachy, that there is a realistic "usual Saints outcome" to everything, and because I wont unequivocally gush at the feet of that altar-of-worship-personified, Alan Pardew.

 

I think he is a good manager that could get us promoted, but I have concerns about how he goes about some things. Its not the "guns blazing" approach that I wanted to see in our first Lowe-free excuse-free season. I dont see anything wrong with my attitude at all.

 

Back to Vassell. I think that he could get a CCC spot at least, and can command more wages than I think we would pay, so I dont think he will come here.

On the other hand he might look at DJ Cambell and think, he's no better than me. I could still play in the top flight.

As for the argument over wages, maybe just maybe as he's stated he wants an exciting project, sees the area as a nice place to bring up a family. He may also see us as a short term low wages, but promotion brings longer term higher wages/bonuses & sees that as a good gamble. I guess we will see if this rumour has any legs in the coming days.

Its possible, of course. I still think we are the sort of team that allows 30+ players to have one finall blaze of glory, and if they do it for us, we'll love them forever.

 

However, that special relationship has been shat on in recent years; Jason Euell and Inigo Idiakez spring to mind...

Without knowing what wages he was on it's hard to say what he'd be looking for. That said, he may have completely had enough of living in a foreign country and be willing to take a significant step down in wages just to return.

 

I'd certainly like to see him sign, but won't be holding out too much expectation for it. Think he's probably a shade below Premier League level now but could easily do a job in the Championship.

Pardew does interview saying we need attacking options. Vassell does interview saying looking for a club. Echo cobble the two articles together.

No, the reason is that you react far too quickly, criticising as soon as any small thing goes wrong. You are like a hysterical woman. This means that a lot of the time you are proved wrong and you end up looking stupid. Which is why people have a go. In theory, they should just ignore you. that would be a far better way of doing things.

I paid an extra fiver for DBP, I done this because of trolls like you who just disagreed with everything I said, keeping SRS and posting every now and then on it for a week so not to make it obvious.

 

It was amazing that when DBP started posting, the reaction he got for making exactly the same point as SRS was completely different. Proved beyond doubt that people were disagreeing with SRS just for the sake of it, unfortunately the same has happened now, which is why I can't be arsed to post much anymore and instead will sit back and wait for the " lol, I told you so " moments.

They finished 12th last season, and have Robert Vittek (scored 4 goals in the World Cup), Geremi and Marek Sapara playing for them. Top division since the 80's. They aren't a no-name club.
