Training Pics on the OS Thurs 27Jan

Always nice to see the boys enjoying themselves but only a few of the squad were shown whereas it felt like every other pic seemed to feature Alex Chamberlain! Is this a subtle way of telling us he's still here? Good to see Adam Lallana looking fit, but also interesting to note that training these days includes practicing how to commit a foul by grabbing opponents and shirt-pulling.

Only way Pulis can join in.

Likely to be propaganda shots to put the sh*tters up Man U to make them think we'll play our first team which we won't of course and yeah like they're really gonna' swallow it.

None of the lads in the pics will figure, match training was going on somewhere else off-camera. See who's not in the pics to reveal tomorrow's starting line-up.

Giggs will be on in his wheelchair so one of you blokes in the Kingsland needs to bring in a long stick to jam his wheels.

I have a feeling these are only there to make Man Utd wonder if for example Lallana might play(I doubt he will but we can hope). Adkins has said himself that he expects opposition managers to look for clues on Saints OS as he does himself on other teams websites and interviews. The reason why he is so cagey to give out injury news is so he plays his cards close to his chest and the opposition manager guessing throughout the week how Saints will play. Makes it harder to do tactical training etc if you don't know. Our own version of mis-information.

Because that would be lying and unprofessional. Simply showing a photo of Lallana kicking a ball today raises questions if he will play or not, but it doesn't lie. Just depends what interpretation you put on a photo yourself.

It doesnt make it look like Lallana is very comfortable kicking the ball. Intentional? The video of them training the other day showed him running around...

What about if we took a picture of Lallana lying in a coffin? Or of OXO being beaten in a race by Wotten?

How big a squad do you think we have ?

using your logic there will be no Chaplow, Morgan, Chamberlain in midfield, with Hammond and Lallana not ready yet - or in those pictures - who is left ?

Barnard, Lambert and the new guy are pictured so the front two will be ?

Both right backs are there too....

You really are a special case aren't you ?

Well it's Bart, Hammond,Gobern and Fonte taking on Man U all by themselves obviously with the help of the Academy.

Just assuming that opposing managers look at OS, your point makes no sense - if you are NA- you want manure to think that lallana ISN'T playing - that way, Man U won't bother doing their homework on his strengths/weaknesses and figuring out measures how to neutralise our best player. Showing him in training raises the possibility that he might play and so as a precaution Man U will do their homework. If he doesn't play, no big deal -its not as if we have many other aces up our sleeve - and that focussing on Lallana has allowed them to escape manure's attention; but if he does, bingo, they have their bases covered.

The biggest element of surprise would have been to show no photos of AL and simply play on the uncertainty that he has missed the last two games.

What about it being a double bluff?

Like Man Utd will give a sh!te what team we put out!

Of course they do! The build up to a game for a professional side would be doing things like working out set pieces and how they expect the opposition to line up and the practice matches will have the starting 11 facing up against reserves playing in the oppositions style. They want to win the FA Cup and this is a potential banana skin game away to a strong League One side. Last season United lost in the 4th round at Old Trafford to a League One side.

There's no double bluff - man u have seen AL in training, so will now prepare on the off-chance that AL plays: he doesn't they lose nothing; if he does, they're ready and waiting. By contrast, they would have been less likely to prepare if they had't seen him in training and thought he was still injured, something which would have given slight advantage should he actutally start.

That's certainly Fergy's way - he'll talk up players injuries and say they're some way off recovery e.g. Rooney last season only for them to miraculously start the next game

They have wasted time when they could be doing something else. Or it puts doubts in Fergurson's mind if he wants to put Neville against Lallana or someone else with Rafael injured.

Man U won't give a toss who plays for us and who doesn't. SAF has already decided who plays and who doesn't.Any Man U side should be good enough to beat Saints because we have inherent weaknesses that even their reserves or U21 s or whatever they call them could exploit. You only had to wach them grind Blackpool down to know that, that's what they do Utd, they grind you down and eventually win. What are the odds on a Chicharito HT,cos with Fonte and Jaidi or Fonte and Seaborne that's a good bet.

Anyway I am certain that if Sir Alex wants to know the exact status of Adam Lallana then he knows it already.

I wonder if they thought all of that before they lost at Old Trafford to a League One side in the FA Cup last season?

Leeds were a good side, you only have to look at where they are now to see that. We too are a good side but we have glaring weaknesses,Right Back, Left Back,Keeper and one Central Defender just aren't good enough to be able to compete with a motivated

United side.

Anthony Pulis finds the only way to stop Alex Chamberlain in full flight. Gary Neville (if he plays instead of Rafael) should take note!

I'm actually quite surprised Pullis is training with the 1st team!

Nice to see Chambo in every other pic though. Bit of a statement IMO.

Yeah I have been thinking the same thing. On our day out attacking could be a match for anybody. Unfortunately our defence on its day, struggles to compete at league 1 level so could get bent over and torn a new one if Man U show up with half an intent on winning.

We have conceded the fewest goals in Lg1 apart from Brighton. Apart from that, good theory.

They would have done their research into our players and system but they won't be concerned about which players we pick. Wether Lallana is fit or not wont effect who they choose to play.

Adidas must be giving us a shedload for the publicity campaign on those shiny orange boots. He's obviously switched from those red and white Nikes he had a couple of weeks back.

Are you saying you are confident in our defence every game? The Stats lie sometimes and I think us conceding so few goals is more down to how many times we have blown teams away by freely attacking and pushing teams back than any superb show of defending.

Can we do that against Man U or will our defence get exposed?
