Jose Fonte's partner in the CCC IF we go up!

Don't think we stand much hope of landing Dawson.

Besides, we need a mean, ball winning first knock centre half IMO. Someone like a younger Jaidi, Morgan and Moore.

All good defenders that where well needed during their clubs respective promotion campaign.

If West Brom stay up is he going to get a game? Are West Brom going to loan him to a League 1 side again?

Is Chris Morgan past it? I always thought he'd be perfect alongside a class player like Fonte. Oh and I'd happily take Mark Yeates off United's hands. One last thing if anyone bleats about the merits of taking Tyson on a free from Forest let me just say that he is gash. Ernie is a better bet in my book, but he's far too expensive. If we have real cash to spend lets buy McGugan. Class player.

My wish list for next year would be Kilgallon or Wes Morgan at CB - Marvin Elliott in cm, billy sharp up top and Kyle Naughton at RB....sorted. Sprinkle the likes of Lallana, Chambo, Lambo, Morgan etc around them and we'll have a top championship team...

Elliot Ward...oh.

Two similar IMO

Look at every good defensive pairing and you will have an out and out ball winner and an intelligent ball playing centre half.

Ferdinand & Vidic, Terry & Carvalho, Jaidi & Fonte.

We need a like for like IMO. As i said previous. Morgan and Darren Moore were both ugly players but very effective defensively for their respected sides.

Nick Montgomery.

Darius Henderson or Billy Sharp.

Bradley Orr ?? Eardley ?? Jordan Spence ?

Perhaps Ian Evatt ? CB ?

TBH I don't like the idea of signing players who have been relegated (Henderson/Montgomery etc). Kyle Naughton would be the signing of the season if we could get him, I think he could be in spurs team next year though.

Naughton won't be, not with Walker having such a great season as well at Villa, they are a little blessed with RB's at the moment.

Signing players that have been relegated is not so much a bad thing as long as you can keep a balance in so much that you don't populate the team with them. Besides, hopefully IF we get promoted that would help to instill a new optimism, aswell as Adkins guidance.

Come on guys, you would not throw Martin straight in at a level above when he hasn't even be a regular. It is clear that we would need to address this position and Martin would be an option on the bench, he is still young.

I think StLedger would be a good option, although i would like a Jaidi mould so maybe someone like ****tu or Morgan of Forest if he would come.

I think a centre half, quality centre mid and striker are vital positions if we get up. CMS would be a great buy and wouldn't mind taking Boyd off their hands as well if Peterboro don't go up

there's young CB - 24 approaching good age for that position. Big - 6ft, pretty quick. Not bad passer with left foot, solid in air. Prone to odd mistake but gaining more experience.

Captained a league side when only 20.

Decent shout for the future.

is this player regularly beaten in the air by anyone over 6 foot?

Decent footballer, but IMO we went down from the CCC because we had too many centre backs that were short and weak in the air. We need a brute like Jaidi (who would have kept us up despite the nippers being played) not some `after you sir' nice guy. Sorry, but as much as I like his ability to bring the ball out from the back I worry that Grant Holt types will take the **** next season. I said it throughout Chris Perry's career here that he was one of the main reasons we struggled. You need a giant that can win headers without time to prepare your leap. A CB who won't be outmuscled, who sets their position in stone and make strikers foul them or attempt to win headers from the less optimial positions. Seaborne is not that man and never will be.

I have no problem having Seaborne as reserve for Fonte, but certainly not his partner.

Jaidi is definitely worth another contract, however, any reason to post Crab Lungs cravings;

Crab Lungs Cravings... (scouted and shortlisted over seasons of watching football!). Notice a lack of Brighton players... and that wasn't deliberate.

emboldened = want! normal = satisfied and would possibly, maybe be interested in joining? italic = unlikely signing anyway (either overly-optimistic, wages too high or probably deemed not good enough for NPC)

Many players have been deemed "past it" and gone to prove people wrong...

I agree but Prutton has been her before and did SFA apart from assault the lino in an important match, and Parkin is just just a lump. There are some decent players amongst the rest though

If we had Beattie back I am afraid he will be shown up to be the lacking player he was even back then. Besides, we have Lambert already and we are hardly playing to his strengths by smashing balls into the box.

There is a reason Beatts was kak at Everton, Rangers and Blackpool in the fact that he needs other players to work FOR him and have balls into the box constantly.

IMO anyways

completely agree with you on Perry, I remember watching him against Sheff Utd in the last game of the season in the 07/08 season being completely dominated by Rob Hulse, he made Darren Powell look exceptional.

As for nowadays Merrington was raving on about Aaron Martin earlier in the season when he got a few games, said he looked very solid and a very bright prospect. He hasn't had a look in since Adkins has been here

Besides if Kanu is still playing for Pompey surely we could re-sign Chris Lucketti ;)

I usually agree with most of what Chez says anyways, but yeah I agree again that really and truelly we can't have two ball playing CB's, we need a decent, ugly, solid no nonsense man.

As for Martin I just don't know, Adkins must rate him, and Martin is happy enough by all accounts. After all we declined a bid from West Ham. I just don't think he is thatugly stopper we need at the moment, although ultimately I think he is better than Seaborne.
