SaintNeil90 Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 So who do we want to get promoted to the Premiership and who do we want to join us from League One. Personally I would like to see Cardiff go up as I think they are the strongest of the 4 Championship play off teams. From League One I would rather have MK Dons or Bournemouth as Huddersfield and Peterborough are the strongest.

Dr Who? Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 I want either Cardiff or Swansea to go up, as I do not fancy a 2 trips to Wales (not that I would go) I would prefer a trip to Forest & Reading though, so do not want either of these 2 to go up, but I really think either Reading or Swansea will go up. From League 1 I really do not know. I want Huddersfield to go up as I think in the race for second place they have been fantastic and very professional about it. Bournemouth for me do not have a hope, their form is terrible and Posh and Huddersfield will take them apart on their day. Cannot stand MK Dons. My head says Peterborough on this one in a Huddersfield v Posh final.....I hope it is Huddersfield though.
Saints67 Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 Cardiff to go up to prem I think Huddersfield certainly deserve to go up however I think their fans are in for further disappointment as Fergie Jnr and his team will be promoted to the Championship. Fergie Jnr will then get Man U reserves from daddy.

Pedro Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 Would like to see Dave Jones's Cardiff get promoted, so close in the past few seasons but suspect it will be Forest. I want Huddersfield to go up from div 1 because they are the better club with a decent manager, don't like MK, don't want Posh just because of Ferguson, just don't like him but probably Bournemouth will make it from sixth. How many times have we seen a team loads of points behind the third placed yet scrape through the play offs, may be a year too soon financially though. Dr Who? Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 I have Reading, Peterborough, Torquay and AFC Wimbledon to be promoted. I feel I will get 3 out of 4 which of course is not good enough. I have a soft spot for Torquay so hence them being in there, but I think Shrewsbury will go up in league 2.

West End Saint Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 I hope the Swans go up to the Prem it was only 3 seasons ago they were league 1 they play decent football & I have a mate who is a Swans fan. Cardiff can do 1 they are a horrible club with nasty fans how they got away with playing Bellamy when they cant pay there bills is beyond me they are the Skates of Wales. I would like to see the Cherries go up to the Championship as my Nephew is scholar with them & it will be a brilliant effort to get back to back promotion however I do accept a large proportion of there fans are nobs & they hate us muppets if not Cherries then Posh as I have a Posh supporting mate & they have been good value & entertainment this season
Dr Who? Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 (edited) Here is the stats from the 2nd flight of football to get into the big time. I've had a look at the last six League games for each of the four clubs in the previous 16 seasons of play-offs in this division (Now NPC) and found the following frequencies of winning the play-off final: Club with best form - 5 times Club with second best form - 4 times Club with third best form - 4 times Club with worst form - 3 times and since the playoff's started. 3rd place - 12 teams made the final. 4th place - 13 teams made the final. 5th place - 10 teams made the final. 6th place - 11 teams made the final. and to go up. 3rd place - 8 teams. (35%) 5th place - 6 teams. (26%) 6th place - 5 teams. (22%) 4th place - 4 teams. (17%) Looks to me like the 3rd place team have the edge on winning and being promoted. But really it is all just a lottery!! Edited 12 May, 2011 by Dr Who?

SNSUN Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 nPC: Want Cardiff to go up as they are definitely the strongest team, think Reading may do it. League One: Want Bournemouth to come up with us but think Peterborough and Huddersfield will do it - though it's too close to call. Depends which Peterborough defence shows up... Premiership: I'd like to see us joined by Blackpool (because Holloway is a cockle), West Brom (the perrenial boing boing), and West Ham (for lolz). The commentators have spent the whole match since then jizzing over what a good job the ref has done. It was never a red though. Very harsh especially in the first minute. saints-cris Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 Huddersfield to go up. They 100% deserve it and whilst Peterborough are probably 2nd strongest, even if they do go up CMS will be gone as will Boyd so they will get humiliated week in, week out in the Championship. At least Huddersfield will give it a go.

At least Huddersfield will give it a go. If Peterborough were to go up and then they sold CMS and Boyd for around a total of 4 million£ or so I don't expect they'd just trouser the money and play with what was left. Plenty of players would be available to them, maybe even better than those which they'd sold. We don't have either Boyd or CMS, does that mean we're going to be crap in the NPC though? of course it doesn't. There are a lot of really crap sides in the NPC and most of them wouldn't humiliate Posh even without CMS+Boyd.Pompey are sh*t and have about 14 players, still finished about mid-table though. Pedro Posted 13 May, 2011 Share Posted 13 May, 2011 Watching last night I feel we can do very well in that league. Go through the teams and compare our players like for like and I can't see that we are very far away from them, a couple of good signings and a good season could be in prospect. Nathan Dyer as MOM, Swansea's player of the season tells me that AOC and Lallana can match or better Dyer.
Winnersaint Posted 13 May, 2011 Share Posted 13 May, 2011 To my Cardiff supporting mate's diappointment I reckon the Jacks (Swansea) will go up. According to him and a lot on their boards their players are a bunch of unmotivated overpaid wasters, who have lost form at the wrong time. I think Reading might turn them over tonight, but I'm not sure about over two legs. See Final as Cardiff v Swansea. Will Wembley be left standing?? RobM Posted 14 May, 2011 Share Posted 14 May, 2011 The problem you have, IMO, is a large percentage of the Bournemouth population moved there, rather than being born and growing up there. It therefore can't be counted as the home team of many people living there.
