Foxstone Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Very sad and untimely - There but for the grace of god sometimes... RIP nipper
Asaint4ever Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 That is so sad why oh why does this happen to the nice people. RIP my fellow saint.
Golden Balls Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 (edited) Saw this trending on Twitter last night. Such a shame and very sad. RIP (I don't think AFC Saints in Staffordshire have anyhing to do with Southampton FC) Edited 9 January, 2012 by Golden Balls
View From The Top Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Saw this tending on Twitter last night. Such a shame and very sad. RIP (I don't think AFC Saints in Staffordshire have anyhing to do with Southampton FC) They don't but the club plays in the same league set up as my nipper and the fella who runs the team they were playing is a mate of mine.
alpine_saint Posted 9 January, 2012 Author Posted 9 January, 2012 They don't but the club plays in the same league set up as my nipper and the fella who runs the team they were playing is a mate of mine. Blimey. Small world.
hasper57saint Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Tell you how small a world it is Alps. The fella who collects Mrs.H's 'Hospice Lottery' saw my Saints badge on my 'top' and told me that 'His Uncle played/Managed Saints!' (I'm still helping him with his research)
ART Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Sad story and maybe had Liam been living in Hampshire and taken to a hospital here he might have survived. Hospitals, treatment and Staffordshire ring too many alarms for me. Worse care and treatment hospitals in the country.
cellone Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Thoughts for those close to him. Keep for ever knocking them in Liam.
Monk Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Awful news, especially having my own teams on a weekend. Thoughts are with family and friends.

He was taken to a high quality teaching hospital but never stood a chance the poor lad.
Dimond Geezer Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 That's awful. My condolences to his family. The same thing happened at my sons rugby club about 6 years ago. There was a horrible atmosphere around the club for a while - god knows what the family were feeling. Very sad indeed.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 The death of a child must be the very worst thing life bestow on anyone, but grief is the price we pay for love they say .... and what a terrible price his loved ones must be paying tonight. I'll spare them a thought for what it's worth.
View From The Top Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 He was running back to the centre circle are celebrating with his dad and granddad and just collapsed and fitted. He was dead then. They gave CPR etc until the ambulance arrived and he was pronounced DOA. My nipper was playing at the same time yesterday and Stafford Falcons, the opposition, is run my people I know and the U13 manager is a mate. His players and families had to watch it all, especially the dad and granddad seeing their nipper die. 'Kin awful.
Fan The Flames Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Can't think of anything worse to happen to a family, our thoughts are with the family and friends.
krissyboy31 Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Terrible news. Condolences to his friends, family and team mates, who are probably traumatised by what they saw.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 God Bless you nipper, you'll always be your Mum & Dad's Sunshine. R.I.P. Liam
St Chalet Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 What a sad loss and terrible tragedy for his family. RIP Liam.
Seaford Saint Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 RIP young man....condolences to his family
Ohio Saint Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Puts everything into perspective on a forum like this. RIP little guy.
St Marco Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Man that really sucks, thoughts go out to him and his family.
Mattio Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Horrible story, thoughts to his friends and family!
Saintjersey Posted 10 January, 2012 Posted 10 January, 2012 To die so young is terrible, RIP little guy.
saintalan Posted 10 January, 2012 Posted 10 January, 2012 They don't but the club plays in the same league set up as my nipper and the fella who runs the team they were playing is a mate of mine. Perhaps it would be nice if you mentioned this to SFC for All Saints Day, give the lad a mention. RIP
Colinjb Posted 10 January, 2012 Posted 10 January, 2012 Utterly, utterly terrible. Sincerest condolences to his family, I can't imagine what they are going through, such joy to terror in no time at all.
alpine_saint Posted 10 January, 2012 Author Posted 10 January, 2012 He was running back to the centre circle are celebrating with his dad and granddad and just collapsed and fitted. He was dead then. They gave CPR etc until the ambulance arrived and he was pronounced DOA. How awful. What a nightmare vision. Joy (and I've felt it when my kids have scored) giving way so suddenly and quickly to world-shattering heartbreak. Awful, awful, awful. I really could have done without the details, they feel burned into my mind now.
Weston Saint Posted 10 January, 2012 Posted 10 January, 2012 Here was a real Saints supporter who died in similar circumstances http://www.smile4wessex.org/index/our-history The Charity is doing good work but needs more donations. Last season Mr Cortese allowed a bucket collection outside of SMS and allowed us to use their offices to set it up on the day. Fantastic response from the supporters at all gates.
ART Posted 10 January, 2012 Posted 10 January, 2012 This was a very tragic story but has absolutely nothing to do with Southampton Football Club or Saints as we know it. THe AFCSaints are the church team from Knutton in Staffordshire. Some have been mislead into believing there is a relationship with our Saints or Southampton Football Club. R.I.P. Liam
