It would be like losing three players as he covers so many positions well. Mind you, the Daily Mirror........................................... stevegrant Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 That would be the same Daily Mirror who reckons we're going to be spending £1.5m on a player in January... I wouldn't read too much into it.
eurosaint Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 A bit worrying really ! Wigley was watching him on Saturday (it was mentioned during the commentary on Radio Solent) and his dad could be a major influence in getting him there too ! Given that he is only loaned to us until January anyway, I don't suppose that we could do much to stop it ! Aaarghh....
mprobert Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Sounds plausible unfortunately, perhaps we could have Bosingwa for the rest of the season instead?
Psycrow Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I'm sure that we can negotiate the longer loan before the current one runs out, and in that time other clubs wouldn't be allowed talk to him?

alpine_saint Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Whether this is Mirror shiitt-stirring or not, it is indeed worth noting in the aftermath of Saturday's euphoric fight-back, that come Janurary elements of this sqaud are going to disappear and we may well be back to square one, whatever progress we may make between now and then... Charlie Wayman Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 This just shows what a Fffing scumbag Wigley is! Under the pretense of "watching" his old team affcetinately as widely reported, he was just really out on a spying mission for his new masters and trying to derail our attempts at resurrection. I hope he doesn't have the gall to show his face at SMS, the b*st*rd!
saints-cris Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Would Chelsea be that happy to loan him to another (although not a very threatening) Premier league club ? Also, he's going to get so many more games for us than he would od for Bolton, hopefully Chelski would see that !
Saint Martini Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I doubt if it is true. The Mirror are probably just putting 1, 1 and 1 together to create 10. Jack Cork plays well + Wigley in the stands + Jack's dad works at Bolton as well. > He must be going to Bolton.
stevegrant Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Also, Bolton's defence isn't really much of a problem for them. They've only conceded 13 goals in 11 league games this season, which isn't too bad. Their problem has been scoring goals, they've only scored 10 so far. Saint Mikey Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 If I was the lad, I'd be stearing away from anywhere where my old man worked at this stage of my career. Only be accused of nepotism if he gets in the team anyway...
krissyboy31 Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Anyone thought he may have been scouting for Stuart Pearce with his U21 hat on, rather than Bolton?

INFLUENCED.COM Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Doubt if Megson et al will be at Bolton come Christmas, despite the win yesterday, so a new man will have his eye on different targets but would be prudent to negotiate an extension on the loan now
DT Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Highly plausible. He's a good player. So he'll be off.

Also, he's going to get so many more games for us than he would od for Bolton, hopefully Chelski would see that ! Chelsea also probably saw that Saints are getting a very good reputation nationwide for bringing on young players. Eg Walcott, Bale, Kenwyn Jones etc and therefore preferred for Cork to come here. Also as he is playing regularly Chelsea may be happy for the loan to be extended until the end of the season. (Here's hoping!)

Victor Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Blimey, you lot don't half get hysterical easily. The Mirror said Megson "wants" Cork - fair enough. If it had been the Sun it would have said he was GOING to Bolton - and then next week they would have said he was going to Sunderland, and the week after that somewhere else, and then in January "WE TOLD YOU SO". Ha, ha. And good luck to Steve Wigley - glad to see you haven't let your experience at Saints get you down. And wouldn't only be a continuation of what's been happening lately, viz Wright, Davies, Bennet, Hammill, etc., etc.? Certainly wouldn't surprise me; I have learned to expect, though not accept, disappointment regarding the club.
Chez Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I wouldn't be surprised to see Cardiff try to loan BWP this week as they have lost their whole strikeforce to injury. If his wages are as high as was suggested in the papers then we'll probably allow him to go without a fight.

Bailey Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I can't see us keeping Cork beyond this season but fingers crossed we strike a deal to extend his loan until the end of the current campaign. I'm sure Cork would be more than happy to do so and Chelsea are likely to accept this proposal as he's been playing reguarly and doing well for us too. lordswoodsaints Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 he is one of the players i will be sad to say goodbye to,but perhaps we could afford to buy him in january if certain other players are sold.
SFC Forever Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 If Pearce continues as he has started I would be more worried about losing him. He seems better in the air than the others and showed us how to score to boot. Cork would be missed but he has not played as well as Pearce did in his sole start for us. Andy_Porter Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Would be a shame to lose him. He's class and easily our best option at right back. Will be a very good player in a few years imo.

Panda Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Jack Cork is here on loan - he is not OURS! He will go at the end of the loan period just as the others do, get used to it.
Andy_Porter Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Isn't there fee's for Gasmi & Schneiderlin agreed for Janurary around that price? Schneiderlin signed on a permanent basis. I think there is a fee agreed for Gasmi, not sure if that's for January or if it's for the end of the season.
